...MARKETING RESEARCH TERM PAPER PROJECT Overview Throughout the semester you will be working in research teams of three to four students each. Your role is that of a marketing research (MR) supplier or research consultant who works for a client organization requiring research information to help make marketing decisions. Each team will prepare a written MR report based on survey research—gathering information from a sample of people from a target population using a questionnaire. Each research team will plan the research design, conduct the fieldwork, analyze the data, and write a research report. This project is designed to provide a major "hands-on" experience since MR is best learned by doing. It will enable you to apply the concepts covered in the textbook and in class and to integrate the inter-related series of steps in the MR process. Overall, America’s youngest voters have moved towards less engagement over time, as 18- through 24-year-olds’ voting rates dropped from 50.9percent in 1964 to 38.0 percent in 2012 (see Fig. 1). Voting rates have also historically varied according to gender. In every presidential election since 1996, women have voted at higher rates than...

...League Baseball Research Paper RES/341 April 11, 2012 Major League Baseball Research Paper Research is made of two categories, applied research, and basic research. Applied research is used by individuals on a daily basis to solve problems that occur in a business or a personal atmosphere. Basic research, also known as fundamental research, or pure research, is used to create a body of knowledge that is available to solve or predict problems before they occur. The purpose of basic research is not the formation of a definite solution, but to create a set of probabilities to predict current or future events. Team B has chosen a set of data that includes statistic relating to the business of Major League Baseball. The statistical value of this sport is more main-stream than ever after the release of Money Ball, a movie based on true events that focused solely on statistics and not player’s visual abilities or presence. Team B will use the statistics presented to determine if there is a measurable advantage in the production of games won based on a team’s payroll, facility size, and attendance record. The statistics provided are for the years of 1989 to 2005. Team B will attempt to predict who the Major League Champion will be in 2006 using only the statistics given in the data set. Purpose of the research The purpose of this research is for Team B to try and...

...Introduction This week’s team assignment is to collect the team member’s descriptive statistics for week four incorporating the best elements into one team data analysis paper, including data and charts. Descriptive Statistics The research topic for this paper is “McDonald’s is Closing Hundreds of Stores.” As part of the research a sample size of 400 was selected to ensure accuracy of results based on the population size of 410. The given sample size was randomly surveyed to test the variables – Independent Variable - Change in consumer food preference and competitive market place and Dependent Variable – Reduced sales hence reduced profit. Age Three Hundred and Eighty-Five McDonald’s consumers were randomly selected and their ages measured. The age ranges were 15 and 65 years. Average consumer is aged 31 with a standard deviation of 14 years. Approximately half or more of their ages are above 31. Income The income of the randomly surveyed consumers is averaged at $30.82 and with a standard deviation of $14.04. Income range is $15 to $65 and there is enough evidence that half or more of these consumers averages $30.82 per year. Strengths and Weaknesses of Team Members’ Individual Assignments Efforts were made by each team member to better understand the use of the statistical tool made available to us (MegaStat). More knowledge was gained and applied in the interpretation of data and findings on this paper. Additionally, each team member pulled their weight...
