The Kids of tbe King Christian Academy located at Antipolo City, Rizal offers quality education to their students and have highly educated teachers consists of grade school and high school students with the total of 700 students for academic year 2015-2016 of which 65 grade 1 students, 67 grade 2 students, 70 grade 3 students, 58 grade 4 students, 74 grade 5 students, 75 grade 6 students, 65 grade 7 students, 75 grade 8 students, 74 3rd year students, and 77 4th year students. The Kids of the King Christian Academy has the following services: Admission office, Registrar Office, Guidance Office, and Accounting Office. Among the offices, the survey shows that there is an observe difference in the existing and proposed system. With the survey result, it proves that the Registrar Office, Accounting Office, and Guidance Office needs a system to improve their daily operation.

The Registrar’s Office used Microsoft Excel as their database. Where records are being stored also the office used a physical records using folders and keeps it in the school cabinet. They also have a place in the Registrar’s Office where the file folders of student records are located. For enrollment registration, the students have to pass all the requirements for enrollment. Such as: Form 137, Form 138, Photocopy of Birth Certificate, 2x2 ID pictures, and Good Moral Character. After the requirements have been processed, the student’s information will now be registered on the database. The registrar personnel will ask what payment plan you will choose and register it, the registrar personnel will look for subjects available for the old, new, and transferee students and they will assign the students in a section with their adviser.

The process of the registrar encountered problems on delay of assessing students, it shows that the faculties interpretation is that they moderately agree in facilitating the students. This shows that the enrollment in different levels has a delay because of loss of important papers and documents, and time consuming.

The Kids of the King Christian Academy have also a problem too with contacting the parents for the meetings, and grade releasing and attendance monitoring. Some students of the Kids of the King Christian Academy is not telling

their parents for the upcoming meetings and events in the school, the parents didn’t get any updates of their children what is happening in the school or what they’re doing at the school.

Based on the result of the survey conducted by the proponents, it shows that there’s a need to develop School Automate for Kids of the King Christian Academy, the proponents also adds Barcode Scanner for Attendance monitoring, this is use when the students are entering the school. As information Technology student, it is our role to contribute to the society through development of innovative business solution. The development of the system for Kids of the King Christian Academy perceived to increase efficiency in enrollment process, updating the parents, reduce the time needed to execute each enrollment period, eliminate manual data entry errors, improve employee satisfaction through more informed decision making and avoiding redundant tasks.

There is a significant body of research demonstrating the contribution of parent involvement to student learning. Henderson and Mapp (2010) reviewed several studies and provided a synthesis of the research findings. The report points to the strong impact of parent involvement on both student achievement and attendance and behavior. Research also indicates that participation declines with grade level, that socioeconomic status and family situation are factors in determining parent involvement and that students want their families to be involved (Epstein, 2011). Perhaps the most widely quoted work is by Epstein (2011) in her model of parent involvement which describes six different categories. Pushor (2010) extends the definition beyond involvement to engagement and argues that engagement is the hallmark of parent connections that truly make a difference for students. Reports in studies are related to project’s objective. Since the parent’s involvement in the student is very important, the researcher’s study is to develop a system that would monitor the students for the parents. All the models speak to the importance of context in understanding parent engagement. While the types of

engagement can be described, schools will be successful in working with parents and communities if the staff take time to listen, to understand, and to relate to the families with whom they work (Pushor,2010). Each child arrives at school carrying the aspirations of the parent (Marjoribanks, 2011), a family background (Beothel, 2011), and the culture of the family community. In this case, researchers must develop a communication between the staffs and the guardians of the students. The Quest for Communities that Work: Sustaining Student Improvement, An International Symposium for Education and Community Leaders, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. (Supplied by author) This report highlights the findings of a research project with the primary purpose of determining if school councils have the ability to influence the rate of parental participation in education, with a particular emphasis on the types of involvement that may lead to improved student learning. The secondary purpose of the research project was to identify the ways in which Ontario's parents prefer to be involved in their children’s education. (Comments) The study concluded that a deliberate focus and activity related to the Epstein framework did produce a higher level of parental involvement as compared to schools without such a focus. Four recommendations for organizing programs to stimulate parental involvement are made. 1. Stimulate activity within eight strategic categories of involvement. These are described in the, an extension of the Epstein (2010) model, adding Attending School Events and Fundraising to the model.

Experimental research on the use of progress monitoring to enhance student performance has focused primarily on one form of progress monitoring: CurriculumBased Measurement (CBM). Academic areas frequently assessed using CBM include reading, mathematics, written expression, and spelling. Criteria that describe the measures used as part of CBM include valid and reliable indicators of generalized performance, short duration to facilitate frequent administration, a focus on direct and repeated measures of student performance, multiple forms that are inexpensive to create and produce, and sensitivity to changes in student achievement over time.(2011)

In a study developed by Wilson BacaniLerrano (2010), on a Proposed Grading System of Cabarroguis National School of Arts and Trade GundawayCabarroguisQuirino, she noted the following:

1. Slow Grade Computation

2. Time Consuming

3. Inaccuracy grades

4. Bulky Workload

For those reasons, she recommends a computerized system:

1. To reduce the time and effort in computing grades

2. To provide complete processing needed with efficiency and accuracy

3. To provide accurate grades reports

The study of Wilson Bacani Lerranoit has the capacity to record the grades of the students but the grades recorded in the system must inform to parents, in this case the researcher’s used the widely known World Wide Web to

browse the grades of the students and see the top performed students and also, the parents can discuss the grades of the students.

In a study of Jennifer C. Cuthcon (2010), on a Proposed Computerized Student Monitoring System of the Information Technology of University of La Sallete Santiago City, she noted the following :

1. Slow data processing

2. Inaccuracy of repots

3. Lost of unrecorded files

For those reasons, she recommends a computerized system:

1. To reduce the time and effort in computing grades

2. To provide complete processing needed with efficiency and accuracy

3. To provide accurate grades reports.

Jennifer C. Cuthcon proposed a good system but it is not well managed. The researcher didn’t focus in recording but in disseminating the students’ performance because it is the responsibility of the parent for them to know what is happening. A Bar code is a machine-readable coding system consisting of elements with varying widths of vertical black lines and white spaces, patterns of dots, circles, square cells, and images, that when read by a bar code scanner can be converted into information.

Bar code scanners are usualy interfaced with a PC via a USB, serial or keyboard wedge connection. Currently, there are Bluetooth, cordless scanners available in the market. In the near future, WiFi and bar code scanning will merge. Of course, there are handheld devices with built-in bar code scanner, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPRS capabilities, which is in the category of mobile computers and RF terminals.

Bar code systems improve the speed and accuracy of computer data entry. Bar codes are used in any applications where data needs to be automatically identified and captured efficiently and accurately in real-time for purposes of inventory management, asset tracking, product identification, warehouse picking and packing, point-of-sale, among others. Bar codes are used in many industries such as retail, transport and logistics, manufacturing, warehouse, wholesale distribution, healthcare, and government. http://www.papercamp.com/essay/98906/Bar-Code

Aquilan (2010) made a comparable thesis on the automation of time attendance that records the time in and time out of every employee using barcode system. It tends to eliminate the manual recording system of time and attendance and also include salary computation of each employee based on the time and attendance reports. Ramon Faloran (2010) wrote in the article “The Computer Edge of the New Employment and Opportunities “in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He stated that computer gives you a different feeling about what is happening in the company. Business will be highly competitive and innovative because the computer provides instants information. Study by Cantoma (2011) in her thesis entitled “Computer Library System for St. James Academy” stated that, in manual system in retrieving, maintaining security and piling records take place because of the years gone by. Furthermore, these files were only kept in envelopes and folders in wooden rocks. There are also instances when the right information is given to a wrong person, which affect quality of service.

Eating Habits and Academic Performance of Hrm Students

...On becoming a teacher… By Mary Ann C. Dela Cruz Looking back to the past, I remember the time when my mother told me that it is time for me to go to school to study. I am excited! I enjoy looking into my new pad, notebooks, pencil, and other things that my mother bought me, especially with my new shoes and uniforms. I told to myself, I will enjoy studying as I will learn new things and meet new friends. And when the first day of school starts, I woke up early, ate my breakfast, took a bath, and wore my new uniform and shoes. In few minutes, I am now ready to go to school. Like my other cousins, we are all excited to go to school and meet my first teacher. That day is so special to me, our teacher taught us to how to greet her and our classmates, introduce ourselves to others, and later, she taught us how to sing, count, and the ABCs. I enjoyed my first day and as days passed, I learned more things and observed my teacher on her next move and what is the next instruction to be given to us. Day by day, our activities are getting harder as more things are new to me. I also noticed the different attitudes of my classmates for some our crying looking for their parent. I am just quiet observing them, but what caught my attention is how our teacher reacts on the situations. How she pampered those little kids crying and how she patiently teaches us. There are times that I am thinking how great she was. It seems that she can not to feel the long hours of teaching...

...Administrator and Teacher Interview Administrator and Teacher Interview Administration and Teacher Interview I remember sitting in the Principles Office one day during recess unsure of why she would want to meet with me. My knees were knocking, my palms were damp, and you could sense the amount of fear that was present in my body. As Ms. Bagakowski called me into her office she reassured me that this was a friendly visit and not one of discipline. She wanted to ask if I would be okay with moving into a different class because I was struggling in my current class. As I look back now on the experience I understand more of the reasons behind the switch and I also understand the role that both my Teacher and the Principle play in the school. The assignment this week was to interview both an Administrator and a Teacher and compare and contract their roles in the education system. I like that you used a personal example. When I went into Ms. Vance’s office I was quickly reminded of the fear I felt waiting for Ms. Bagakowski. Ms. Vance is the Director for Madison Christian Children’s Center in Phoenix, Arizona. As I began the interview Ms. Vance expressed her passion for children and how she became the director of Madison Christian Children’s Center. It wasn’t until she was mother that she really found her true calling to be a Teacher. And I agree with it. I was thinking about what teachers and schools and education were all like when I was much younger. I remember teachers who seemed to be on a mission, a sort of crusade to educate, who wanted kids to open their minds to the possibilities around them. They were our counsellors, our mentors, the ones who guided us and listened to our sometimes extremely ridiculous ideas. GANESH KUMAR: Teachers encouraged us and never told us there was anything we couldn’t do. I also gave teachers an opinion poll where they selected how much they did/did not agree with statements made. Findings * From asking the opinions of students of how well school prepares them for later life, I have found that the general view is that school does not prepare you for later life on the whole and that it only prepares you for work life and teaches you nothing about other crucial elements of life, such as managing money. * Teachers, on the whole as seen from the opinion poll, strongly agree that the current education system, and how it is delivered, prepares you fully for future life. * Some students believe that teachers have the opinion that school fully prepares you for life outside of school because they have not experienced a career like they are teaching their students because they came straight from university and went into working * Despite the general consensus from teachers that the school prepares students for later life fully, some teachers believe that the education system on the whole does not prepare students for life at all because as the students go further...

Article Based on Opinion

...13, 2013 MYT 8:42:05 AM Monitor private 'schools' OVER the weekend I was glad to have read the history behind Lebuh Bishop (The Star, Aug 10) – a wonderful occasion to go down memory lane. To know that many early schools in Peninsular Malaysia started here on Penang Island makes me proud of Penangites and those individuals who saw through that the education system was established for the inhabitants of Penang. As a young man, I came to know that Penang may be the state in Malaysia where good education institutions may have started. I have heard of a good number of well established schools here. Education institutions such as Dalat and Uplands, and missions schools such as St Xavier’s Institution and the many Convent schools. Mission schools in Malaysia are said to have start in the 1850’s, while schools like Dalat and Uplands started in 1929 and 1955 respectively. I feel that these schools were well-known because of their good and established education pedagogy. Coming from a Catholic mission school myself, I can vouch that mission schools were once very well known for their co-curricular activities such as debating, orchestra, musicals and sports. It was through this wholesome pedagogy that many Penangites lives were touched, shaped and transformed. I am an educator myself, and my recent return to Penang brought to mind some worrying elements. Along Tanjung Bungah Road I noticed sales banners put up by an international school. I remember seeing these banners in 2012...

Role of Parents and Schools

...ROLE OF PARENTS AND SCHOOLS Chris Steininger Institution Affiliation Course Title Date Parents and schools play basic and vital roles in the growth and development of children in all aspects of their lives in the society. They are essential in the formation and shaping of character, the determination of virtue and in the end they are the basis for the existence of emotionally, spiritually, physically stable society. Right from the day a child is born, the kind of bond that is formed between it and its parents forms the basis to character development. The interaction between mother and child helps the child learn each and every basic element of both survival and acceptance into the systems that guide the existence of society ( Hunt; et al, 2010). Parents in the basic sense are their children’s first teachers. Through all the activities they are engaged in together as the child develops up to the pre-school level, parents help the child participate in cooking, cleaning and gardening, the child is slowly eased into the world of learning. The parents also provide the link to formal education by actively participating in their children’s schooling activities and thus making an easy transition for the children into the formal learning structures. Schools are charged with the huge role of moulding their charges from the moment they are enrolled with no or little formal education into a productive person in the society. This is a mammoth task which...
