It sets out employers’ duties to staff where more than 5 staff are employed, and to the community, in addition to the duties of employees towards themselves and others. Health and Social Care Setting: Preschool The Health and Safety at Work Act aims to protect staff in relation to their health, safety and security in the workplace. It provides awareness in the workplace, so children and adults are aware of the health and safety issues. Within the preschool, the employer has a duty of providing induction training to staff which involves a clear and understandable explanation of health and safety concerns so that all adults are able to adhere to the policy and procedures as they understand their shared responsibility. The induction covers employees’ wellbeing, including safe lifting, and storage of hazardous substances. This also involves regular discussion of health and safety at staff meetings even after...

...M1- Asses the implications of health and safety and security legislation and regulations for a business role in a work place. This covers different roles with Super Group, I will be looking at the health, safety and security legislation and regulation have different implications. Ever since health and safety has been introduced into the work place they have to have set up and complete risk assessments due to the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 legislation, for example if an employee at Super Group was set up a risk assessment and the first implication is to make sure they include all possible hazards and risks. The next implication of the risk assessment they have to make sure they involve is every employee that works for the business and for example if an employee was injured and was in a cast and on crutches they would have to make a whole new specific risk assessment for that employee and everything that was going on around including other employees. This is very important because if the worst possible outcome was to happen at work then they would have to able to get that injured employee out safely for example making sure all first exits were clear and all the alarms are tested and working correctly. The next legislation I will be looking and what implications is causes is the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 which was put in place to make sure all employee are safe at work and our working in a healthy environment, this is important for Super...

...Richman Company’s, Final Project “Corey Networks” Situation: Operation Richman’s Company You are a networking security intern at Richman. You have asked to submit a proposal to Richman senior management. In the proposal, you must choose to address seven of the following and relate it to the appropriate SSCP domains: Issue one. Based on the premise that Richman has 5,000 employees throughout the main office and several branch offices, you must research solutions and detail the appropriate access controls including policies, standards, and procedures that define who users are, what they can do, which resources they can access, and which operations they can perform on a system. Issue two. Based on the premise that most of the managers have BlackBerry devices for instant communications and all employees are provided cell phones, you must research and detail the cryptography methods to protect organizational information using techniques that ensure its integrity, confidentiality, authenticity, and non-repudiation, and the recovery of encrypted information in its original form. Issue three. Based on the premise that there is a mix of computer running Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OS X, you must research and devise a plan to thwart malicious code and activity by implementing countermeasures and prevention techniques for dealing with viruses, worms, logic bombs, Trojan horses, and other related forms of intentionally created deviant code. ...M1 – Describe the roles and responsibilities relating to the health, safety and security of individuals in a health and social care setting Introduction Within this essay I am going to be describing the roles and responsibilities relating to the health, safety and security of individuals in a health and social setting. I will be using the health and social care setting in a nursery to help describe what roles there are within the workplace and what their duties are. And then I will be discussing a range of other scenarios that other people’s roles are such as; surgeon, fire fighter etc. Definitions The definition of the word ‘role’ is the function assumed or part played by a person or thing in a particular situation. Having an important role means that you have something particular to do, you are in charge of many situations and may include being in charge of other people. For example, there are many roles in a general practice surgery such as, a secretary, doctors, and nurses all who have specific things they diagnose, like ear, nose and throat doctors, skin doctors etc. The definition of the word ‘responsibility’ is the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone. It is the state or fact of being accountable or to blame for something. To make sure the general practice is run professionally and correctly the person/people in charge must allocate appropriate jobs to the suitable staff which will ensure all jobs are completed...

...the best choice for an application server. This is because it is a windows system. It provides a secure, easy to manage, modular and extensible platform for hosting websites, services and applications. With IIS you can maximize web security with a reduced server foot print and automatic application isolation. IIS 7.0 and up have a modular architecture. Modules, also called extensions, can be added or removed individually so that only modules that are required for specific functions are installed. IIS in my opinion will be the best choice for this server, because of all the information that I provided above, and the fact that I’m more comfortable with windows based systems. The ports that need to be open to host ftp, http, https, and streaming media are listed below. 1. FTP a. The default port range is 1024-5000, but the upper range can be changed. 2. HTTP b. Port 80 or port 8530 3. HTTPS c. Port 443 or port 8531 4. Streaming media d. Windows Media server uses TCP in ports to accept an incoming HTTP connection (80), RTSP connection (554), MMS connection (443). e. Windows Media Server uses UDP out ports 1024-5000 and 5004. Due to the design of IIS and its security features I don’t see many security concerns with having all these ports open on the same server. Although there is no way for any system to be completely safe. S 7.0 and above takes this approach the next step by introducing the minimum install by default approach...

...Unit 3 – P2 Outline how legislation, policies and procedures relating to health, safety and security influence health and social care settings. A legislation is a law or a set of laws which have been produced by governing body and made official by parliament to: regulate; authorise; sanction; grant; declare and restrict. Policies are clear, simple statements of how an organisation intends to conduct its services, actions or business. They provide a set of guiding principles to assist with decision making. Procedures describe how each policy will be put into action within the organisation. They outline who will do what, what steps need to be taken and which forms or documents to use. There is a number of policies that have been put in place to promote the safety of individuals within different health and social care settings. Food Safety Act 1990 (Amended in 2013) The Food Safety Act 1990 sets out the requirements of the food producer and the food handler regarding food safety. The guideline is for all types of food businesses in England, Scotland and Wales. The main responsibilities within the act are: ensuring you do not include anything in food, remove anything from food or treat food in any kind of way which could damage health to the people that are consuming it; to ensure the food served or sold is of the nature, substance and quality which consumers would expect and to ensure the food is correctly labelled, advertised and presented in a form that is not false...

...D1: evaluate the effectiveness of the use of techniques used in marketing products in one organisation The organisation I have chosen to evaluate the effectiveness on their use of techniques in marketing products is boots. The product I researched on was Rimmel London eyeliner which was from boots. There was a range of marketing techniques they have used. They have advertised the product on television and also the internet (YouTube). When it comes to advertisements Rimmel exaggerated eyeliner got over fifty seven thousand two hundred and fifty eight views. The customer reviews that were received for Rimmel London ‘’exaggerate eye liner’’ was last year in 2012(11 November). They only got six reviews; out of six people four people rated it five stars; one person rated three stars and one person rated it one star. However, from March to October 2013 they have got 101 views mostly giving back positive feedback. Also forty-four people gave a star rating of four point five and five. This has had a major effect over time because before Rimmel London wasn’t that recognised and now the views and ratings have rapidly increased. Furthermore, Boots have used a market relationship technique. For example if you buy the Rimmel London exaggerated eye liner you can now get the second one half the price. Another offer which you can get is when you spend ten pounds or more on any product that belongs to Rimmel London you can retrieve a free gift which is Rimmel London scandalize mascara...

...Describe how two businesses are organised Introduction For the previous assignments I had to look in to research two completely different businesses, these businesses are; Manchester United (PLC) and Islamic Relief (Registered Charity). Now within this assignment I am going to be analysing and describing how both of the businesses are organised, and how they are both, structured. We went to Old Trafford, on Wednesday 7th October and we were taken on a short tour of football stadium and also took part in an education lecture which included a question and answer session with the Educational Officer at Manchester United. The educational lecture and the question and answer session was provided for us to help us with our business work. (Unit 1: The Business Environment) This helped us, by answering some of the questions that would have been asked in the later assignments. A visitor had come, from Islamic Relief to tell us about the charity that helps millions around the world. I also gained information and knowledge regarding this business. It was fascinating to find out the difference between the registered charity and the football club. This was because I think it’s amazing how two different businesses can achieve different aims and objectives, yet they both can be so successful. The two businesses have different organisational structures, an organisational structure is designed and created to, divide up the work that needs to be completed thus making it easier to...

...Industrial Security Plan Lionel San Jose 05/04/15 SEC 330 Craig Barnhart Industrial Security Plan When people think about different organizations and businesses all they think about is profit and how well the organization or business is thriving but organizations and businesses see more than just profit, they have to deal with protecting this profit along with all other assets affiliated with them. Most people think that hiring security guards and putting up some cameras are enough to keep a place safe but there is much more to keeping assets safe. Organizations should have an industrial security plan in place which will help protect their assets and make their facility a safer working environment. There are a few requirements that need to be addressed in this industrial security plan such as the roles and responsibilities of safety and security officers, OSHA and EPA regulations, emergency response to manmade and natural disasters, and business continuity and recovery from disasters. Roles and Responsibilities Organizations need safety and security personnel within their organization if they want to be protected. There are many different kinds of hazards and risks that can harm any organization but with the help from safety and security personnel these risks and hazards can be minimized or even prevented.
