When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one to come to terms with what the youth have thrown at them on the daily. It seems to be that teachers do not realize the amount of workload students have on a daily basis. The typical day of a student is as follows: wake up, go to school for seven hours, (usually) go to practice for two hours, go home, and then do homework until they can no longer keep their eyes open. When walking through the halls, many fatigued students can be seen. Recently, students have been putting homework over their own health, which is utterly astonishing. Teachers expect their homework to be done for the next day the night that it is assigned. Yet, teachers fail to realize that students are not robots; students have practices to go to, games to play, and family to visit. …show more content…
Students deserve to be able to take care of themselves without having to worry about ruining their grade in a class. Not only that, students deserve to be able to miss school in order to get over an illness without having to worry about missing the important things learned in class, or worrying about the homework that was given that day. Too often are ill students seen at school. Not only is this bad for the student, but it is bad for the rest of the people at the school. Students should not have to worry about missing school to the point where they put their health as risk. In all honesty, students just want a smaller workload. It is understood that every teacher might assign something to be done daily, but it would be helpful if that assignment could have a due date that is not the following day. Along with that, if a student does not turn something in on time, they should not be punished. Students have many things going on, whether it is drama with friends, or even troubles at home.
