Sponsorship Letter
Gadsden Cheerleading
2012-2013 Season

Dear Sponsor, The Gadsden High School Cheerleading program is a highly energized, spirited group of students who support the Gadsden High Athletic Department as well as a variety of other school organizations in an attempt to promote school spirit among the students and faculty. Additionally, squad members participate in a variety of community events. This year, we are continuing the sponsorship based fundraiser. This fundraiser is being established to help raise funds needed to defray some of the costs associated with cheerleading, such as shoes, mats, equipment, trips, and regional and national cheer competitions.

Sponsorship in the Falcon Cheer organization is given on a year-to-year basis and will take the form of three standard sponsorship packages.

The sponsorship levels are as follows:

Panther Silver: Name of sponsor is added to our 2012-2013 sponsor tee-shirts, which the cheerleaders
Min. $50.00 will wear during various events of our fall and spring seasons. Tee shirts will also be given away during our fall season to patrons at Gadsden sporting events. Panther Gold: Name of sponsor with logo on the back of our 2012-2013 sponsor tee shirts. Thank you
Min. $125.00 poster from the cheerleaders with free advertisement space. The poster will include a free business card size advertisement of your business. The posters will be handed out to various local businesses for display.

Panther Platinum: Name of sponsor with logo high on the back of our 2012-2013 sponsor tee shirts,
Min. $200.00 a thank you poster from the cheerleaders with free advertisement space (two business cards in size), and two homecoming tickets for the 2012 Gadsden Homecoming game.

The parents, cheerleaders, and coaching staff sincerely appreciate your taking the time to consider being a sponsor for our program and we look forward to your continued support.

Thank you,

Gadsden Cheerleading Squad

Sponsorship Fundraiser Information

Dear Cheerleaders and Parents:

Welcome to the 2012-2013 Gadsden Cheerleading Squad! We are looking forward to working with you all this year; we have so many new things planned for this season and we hope all of you will be pleased with the program. In order to make our program a success, we are changing our current corporate fundraiser in hopes of increase the amount of donations and participation. This year, we hope to raise the bar in our fundraising goals, so we’ve selected activities that promote team unity and spirit within the Gadsden community. We have many expenses this year: trips to local and regional competitions, choreography, mats and equipment, to name a few. We believe that with the activities selected, we can realistically raise the funds to help purchase the needed items and reduce the cost of traveling to the competitions. But, we need to do this together – so girls, get ready!!!

The first new fundraiser for the year is a “sponsor tee shirt.” This is a great way to get sponsors to participate in our program and will be our main school fundraiser this spring. Each family is expected to sell at least three “sponsor tee shirts”. It would be nice if each family could sell four. The prices for a “sponsor tee shirt” start at $50.00 and go up depending on the sponsor’s package choice. Detailed information about the different packages is attached to this letter.

For every “sponsor tee shirt” that is turned in, we need a sponsor information sheet filled in completely, cash or a check made out to GHS, and 1 logo attached to the sheet if the sponsor purchases a gold or platinum package. Every cheerleader will be given three sponsor information sheets and three sponsor letters. Cheerleaders for each “sponsor tee shirt” sold a cheerleader must turn in a sponsor information sheet with all required information, and money (cash or check).

Remember that when in public speaking to business about donations or sponsorships, you are representing Gadsden High School and the Cheerleaders. It is important that you make a good impression with the public. It might be to your advantage to dress appropriately when you go out to speak to businesses. This will identify you as a cheerleader and it might make the person you are talking to more responsive to sponsoring the program.

We will have an invitation only party for those cheerleaders who sell a minimum of three “sponsor tee shirts”. So, start contacting all of your friends, family, and business associates. We will begin the selling on ASAP and continue selling ads through August. Sponsorship forms will be collected during Tuesday practices for the remainder of the school year. During the summer, please hold to any forms you sell. All forms sold over the summer are due on . Cheerleaders who turn in a minimum of three sponsorships prior to beginning of school will receive on “free pass” to be excused from cheering at a game during the fall season.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Jaramillo

Changing Children’s Lives: a Woman’s Mission

...Life changed for Dorothy Samson in an Indian orphanage. Seeing the incredible needs of the children there, the Colorado resident knew she could make a difference. So started a journey that led her to Compassion International and its unique child sponsorship program. Now, after just five years working with the ministry, 25 children count on Samson for prayers, letters and support. “They crawl up into my lap; they call me ‘Auntie Dorothy,'” Samson said. “They are my children.” Although Samson never had children of her own, that didn’t stop her from sharing her love and compassion with little ones. “I always wanted to have 12 children with an abundance of boys,” Samson said. From her home in Grand Junction, Samson began her Compassion sponsorship experience in 1999 with four children from India and one from Haiti. That number soon grew to 13 children, and she got that abundance of boys. Later, when she learned that there was a need for sponsors for African children, she didn’t hesitate to take on even more. “Compassion told me that there was a lack of sponsors for African children because of the HIV/AIDS problem,” Samson said. “I can understand people wanting to invest their money in children who are certain to grow up to be healthy, productive adults. But all children are precious, even those who might be HIV-positive. They aren’t responsible for having the disease – they are innocent victims, and they, too, deserve the opportunity to have a happy childhood and...

...Transmittal letters often accompany reports and inform readers of a report's context. Typically, the letter includes information not found in the report. For example, the letter contains information about the particular project and/or due dates. A Transmittal Letter is a business letter and should be formatted accordingly; that is, you should include the recipient's address, your address, a salutation and closing. Depending on the project, you may also need to include contact information. Always check with your instructor to determine whether or not you should attach a transmittal letter to your report. In Finance, a Letter of Transmittal is a document used by a security holder to accompany certificates surrendered in an exchange or other corporate action. A Letter of Transmittal may also be a distribution list with the recipients of a memo, report or contract. A transmittal letter accompanies a document and explains what the document is, why it should receive the reader's consideration, and what the reader should do with it. A transmittal or cover letter accompanies a larger item, usually a document. The transmittal letter provides the recipient with a specific context in which to place the larger document and simultaneously gives the sender a permanent record of having sent the material. Transmittal letters are usually brief. The first paragraph describes what is being sent and the purpose for sending it. A longer transmittal letter may summarize key elements...

...Cover Letters While your resume is a summary of your credentials, your cover letter should essentially be a sales pitch. Your aim is to demonstrate why your skills and your background make a perfect match for the position you're applying for. The cover letter is not the place to summarize your background--you have already done this in your resume. Remember, employers typically receive hundreds of resumes for each job opening. You must stand out from other job seekers in a positive way. The best way to distinguish yourself is to highlight one or two of your accomplishments or abilities that show you are an above-average candidate for this position. Stressing only one or two unique attributes will increase your chances of being remembered by the recruiter and getting to the interview stage, where you can elaborate on the rest of your accomplishments. You can also gain an extra edge by showing that you have some specific knowledge about the company and industry. This shows that your are genuinely interested in the job you are applying for--and that you are not blindly sending out hundreds of resumes. More importantly, the employer will view your interest as an indication that you are likely to stay with the company for a substantial period of time if you are hired. 10 Key Details to Remember When to send a cover letter: always mail a cover letter with your resume. Even if you are following up an advertisement that reads simply "send resume," be sure to include...
