One example of a document that communicates technical information is the Stratasys White Paper titled ‘Optimize Production for Agile Manufacturing.’ This document addresses multiple manufacturing applications and compares traditional methods of production to newer 3D printing techniques. Types of technical information that are communicated in the document include applications of 3D printers, visual examples of manufactured products, customer stories, and data charts. All of these aspects within the document came from years of research by Stratasys to “expand your knowledge of the potential of FDM technology” and persuade the reader to utilize 3D printing for manufacturing (Stratasys). Stratasys is one of the largest 3D printer companies in the world and has experience with different types of additive manufacturing technology more commonly known as 3D printing. In this document they educate the reader on the different applications of 3D printers such as jigs and fixtures, composite tooling, production parts, robotics, sand casting, and thermoforming. …show more content…
Research on 3D printing applications would have been necessary to provide relevant images and videos used in this document. Each chapter includes related images of 3D printed parts that demonstrate the types of objects that can be made and some of the applications of these parts. All of the images are positioned in the same location on each page of the document with captions to make them easy to see and relate to the textual information. In addition to the images, videos provide more information on each topic and show how how different companies utilize additive manufacturing technology to optimize production and create better products.
