...Saturday October 25, 2014 Strength and Challenges For starters professor I am excited to be welcomed into your strategies and am truly looking forward to working together. I cannot wait to get a deeper understanding on your philosophy. I am curios to hear and looking forward to classroom lectures. Although I speak of all my positive outlook and hopes I have not stepped into any sort of educational facility since graduating high school. With that being said I am somewhat nervous. I take everything with a grain of salt. I understand this is no simple or easy task. But with my positive outlook and proper support I hope exceed your expectation of me. I really feel that I have the capability to learn a whole lot in this new field. I’m a very hard worker that is something was instilled in me at a very young age. Also when I am committed to something I seem to enjoy or like, I will not turn away from it. I give my all to things that I know in the long run will better my life. I’m a very humble young man and I appreciate every opportunity that is presented and don’t let them slip by. These strengths combined are what will propel me to succeed in this class. Some of the obstacles and challenges that I face in this class a nothing really overwhelming. They are more so objects that I must take a day at a time. Or just things that you learn with practice. As I mentioned earlier, I have never done anything like this before. So I come in raw to ITT. I just hope to learn and hope...

...Chris Woodward 3/28/2014 Unit2 Assign1 Strengths and Challenges Reflection GS1145 My name is Chris Woodward. I started this program not just to make more money, but to better my skills. I can make something more of myself. I’d also like to say, that I have a lot to learn when it comes to going back to school. I believe the challenges I face will make it very difficult for me. I haven’t been to school for over 12 years now. Not only am I in school, but I am juggling family life and work as well. This is definitely a learning curve for me. When I take the time to assess my goals in life, I begin to understand what’s most important to me, and that is my family. When I factor in my family, it allows me to step up and guide myself in such a way that I begin to realize what it would be like if I didn’t succeed. School is all new to me, but at the same time it is also very beneficial. Without it I would stand still. I’d wonder where I would be if I didn’t make that first step. Now I can safely say I’m definitely on the right path. For many years I have worked in customer service, so I have learned a few things that I can bring to class. Each time I’ve attended this class I thought I knew it all, but now I realize there’s more to be taught. We all have different ideas. I feel that we each possess a certain skill that will benefit each and every one. I don’t really...

...Ms. Folse: After two weeks in this class, I expect to take something valuable away from it. I believe this class will teach me to be more patient with others, listen to what they say, and understand them. This class seems to be centered more on developing students as a better person, which of course is something completely unexpected to me. I am actually looking forward to spending more time in this environment, I enjoy watching people and the way they respond to certain scenarios. I feel that I will bring a positive vibe to this classroom, as I do have excellent communication skills. I have always been a ‘people’ person, in a sense that people tend to trust me immediately and enjoy my comedic stance on things. It will be nice to be in an environment of younger people, I will be able to see and learn the differences between age groups. One of two concerns that I do have about this class is my short attention span. It will be difficult for me to stand stationary and maintain focus on the speaker for more than a few minutes at a time. The second concern being this class’ bearing on any future career I may choose. It feel it would be beneficial to certain students if there was an option to test out of individual classes. This is probably a bad attitude to have about anything in general, but it is certainly how I feel about a class with ‘vocabulary’ as a primary objective of a certain week. With regards,...

...Strengths and Challenges Reflection Letter Dear Professor Lambert: I really do not have any questions at this time for this course because I am not really sure exactly what this course is for or what it is going to teach us. However I do look forward to the people I will meet in this class, also the obstacles we will overcome together. I would have to say some of my strengths would have to be typing, also my past knowledge of the ethical hacking or unethical that I have already experienced. Although it may not be the ideal thing to mention, it is however the reason I became infatuated with computers. I will return to ITT for my bachelor’s degree in cyber security. Some challenges I know I will face with going to college is the amount of writing we will perform. I do not think of myself as a great writer, I will further my knowledge on the ideal ways of writing papers. In the past when it comes to academic’s my grades no problem attendance however now that’s another story. I have never been a big fan of getting up every day to go to school, but this is for my future so I hope that will continue to be enough motivation for me. I know I will have to get into the habit of reading the textbook or e-book it defiantly does help with understanding the assignments and also gives examples which is very useful to me. I will do my best in this course and of course in college all in all, this is without a doubt the field I would like to be in due to the need of IT professionals and also...

... Even when I was in school I do not recall ever writing like I am being asked to now. Even though I am writing this letter to you now I truly have no idea what I am doing. I don’t feel like I am comprehending what you are trying to teaching to me. I don’t feel that I am stupid but that my learning skills are not up to speed and I am questioning whether or not I am going to be able to accomplish what is necessary to pass this course. See I have a bad habit of wanting to quit when times get tough for me. I know that I really don’t want to quit but another concern is my back I hurt it while working my last job. Things that are bothering my back are sitting a lot and carrying my bag with all the weight in it. I believe some of my strengths are I’m a hands on learner. I work great with others. I do have some computer knowledge for I have a computer at home and from messing around with it and clicking on the icons I have taught myself some of what it is capable of doing. I have also installed and uninstalled several printers. I also have taught myself several other handy things while doing work around the house like installing sealing fans, light fixtures and storm doors. Once I comprehend something I can usually just run with it. The things I am looking forward to from this...

...Louis XVIs failings as a monarch primarily account for the strength of the challenge to absolutism in France which existed by the beginning of May 1789 - How far do you agree? Yes to a large extent it can be argued that it was Louis XVIs failings as a monarch that accounted for the strength of the challenge to the Ancien Regime. For example Louis' weak leadership meant he lacked the confidence to act assertively meaning he couldn't combat the growing strength of the privileged class and push through reforms. Moreover he was too easily influenced and took appeasement of the privileged too far instead of stopping them in their tracks. Although it could be argued that the power of the privileged accounted for the challenge to absolutism due to their self interest and corruption it is clear that without Louis weaknesses this would not of been such a serious issue and thus Louis failings remain the primary account to the strength of the challenge as he failed to keep control and influence within the privileged classes which in turn created difficulty when attempting the all important reforms. Moreover although the grievances could be seen as the primary reason and account for the strength of the challenge to absolutism it is clear they are not the most important. For example although it could be argued that the resentment from the third estate ,due to the tax burdens placed on them, mainly account for the strength in challenge it is clear that without Louis failures to reform and listen...

...Judo Strategy is: • The mind set of not opposing strength to strength • Three Principles of competition: movement, balance, and leverage • A toolbox of tactics and techniques Use Judo Strategy if: • You’re a small player facing off against stronger competitors • You’re a large player moving into areas where powerful opponents may already be entrenched. • You have the capabilities(speed, agility, and creativity) to outmaneuver your opponents, no matter what the balance of strength may be. Use Judo Strategy when: • Dealing with the competition is one of your top strategic priorities • Competitors have the advantage of strength and size. • You’re unlikely to win by going head to head. Judo Principles • Movement o Don’t invite attack-“The Puppy Dog Ploy” Keep a low profile and avoid giving away your game Position alongside competitors instead of attacking head on. Don’t moon the giant – unless you want to lose. o Define the competitive space Change the paradigm by redefining standards for the market Segment the market and make focus the key to success Use first-mover advantage to build a market where you choose the rules o Follow Through Fast Stay focused and sequence growth to avoid becoming overextended Make maintaining internal alignment an early priority – before the challenges of growth emerge. ...Positive Thinking Justin Bailey Expository Writing Positive thinking requires the strength to endure trials and tribulations in life while also having the courage to prevail over them. Keeping a chin up approach to life each day will provide the self-confidence needed to pursue goals and achieve them. Balancing life’s challenges such as becoming a teen parent is a difficult task, but if achieved creates long lasting positive results. A well-rounded approach to maintaining a positive attitude will always provide a constant form of overcoming life’s challenges. There are several different modal constructs such as the seven-element’s approach and the US Army approach (Harrington, 2012). Harrington (2012) suggests “Approaching life’s challenges in a positive, optimistic way by demonstrating self-control stamina and good character with your choices and actions” (p. 29). In other words, when faced with a challenge think of the glass half full instead of half empty. Always be optimistic in the thought process in order to keep the mind in a state of positivity. Keep emotions in check and think before speaking. It will produce a more positive outcome. There are many challenges to overcome when raising a child, but being a teenager with no job and trying to finish high school is even more difficult. My life was changed forever when my son was born in the summer of 2006. It was three days before the fourth of July and everyone was preparing to go on vacation while we were...

...What is a hero? A hero is someone who is admired for their courage, bravery, and noble qualities. Heroic acts are often celebrated because they show the strength of the human spirit and the ability to overcome challenges. In literature, we often see characters put to the test in various ways to determine whether they are truly heroic. In Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey, we see the protagonist Odysseus facing numerous challenges on his journey back home to Ithaca. In this essay, we will explore what constitutes a heroic act and whether Odysseus acted heroically on his journey. First, one of the key aspects of a heroic act is courage in the face of danger. In Book 9 of The Odyssey, we see Odysseus and his men facing the danger of the Cyclops Polyphemus. Odysseus shows bravery as he devises a plan to blind the Cyclops and escape his clutches. He says, "I tied them [ram's wool] silently together, then slung a man under each middle one to ride there, shielded right and left by the others" (Book 9.). This shows Odysseus' quick thinking and bravery in taking on a giant who could easily overpower him and his men....

...When I analyze myself as a student, the strengths that I bring in the classroom are drawn from many different life experiences. I cannot tell if my strengths and challenges are well balanced or I have more strengths than challenges and vice versa. It starts with being friendly with everyone and I like knowing the people that are in class with me. I’m not saying that I am a great student however, I can say that I am a good student because I do have the desire to do better in my studies and I like to finish what I have started. Most of the strengths I use on a day to day basis come from my military background such as honesty, leadership, teamwork, selfless service, loyalty, integrity, love of learning, and many more. I am very enthusiastic when people ask for my help and I know exactly what to do, but I’m also quick to refer them to another person that can handle the situation better than I can. When I am with my family I mainly use the same strengths but, problem solving comes up most of time due to daily challenges in life. My weaknesses make me a bad student, because when I get overwhelmed I tend to stop working and just drop everything and I focus on something that is completely irrelevant to what is being discussed. Even worse is when I’m out of focus and I’m trying to get back in the lecture, I will start asking around on where we are to be caught up with the subject. My biggest challenge is time management although I do not have a job, I do...
