Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon

Tom had scheduled a trip to Robert Olsen’s grave to return an artifact. He was going to be accompanied by his son William whom he wanted to show the artifact, and William’s daughter Myra, an archeologist. The night before the trip Tom’s ex-wife Ruth drops off Sarah at his house, a granddaughter he never knew, Becky’s daughter. Becky was Tom and Ruth’s daughter who lived with Ruth together with her husband Fletcher Lynch. At this point, Sarah did not have a place to go after her mother Becky passed on and her father-in-law had gone to Europe.

In the morning after a long argument, Tom agreed to take Sarah on the trip to Olympic National Park. The park that brought rivalry between tribe people who wanted to preserve …show more content…
She drew the animal and told others but nobody believed her. She later disappeared carrying the artifact: a spear thrower. Tom and William found her on the eighth day after her search had been called off. She had so many injuries. She gave them her story as they were heading home.

Sarah’s story was that she met a short-faced bear and then appeared in a different world. She talked about being in captive of Skin Boat People. These ancient people took girls and traded them to other tribes to become wives. They got to a place where they were to be traded to Razor Stone People but a fight broke out because they were only seven girls, a very small number. All the Skin Boat People were killed. They regained new captives, the Razor Stone People. Both her captives sailed with her and the other girls in canoes for months.

Tom, William, Myra, and Sarah went to the park for the second time. They brought Sergei who was in place of his father, Alec: the man William went to fetch for but could not come because he had lymphoma and was very ill, he later passed on. At the end of the three days, I had realized that I was nowhere near of having a proper diet. I was eating food that was high in sodium and low in dairy, fruit, vegetables, and grain. I also noticed that I was eating a lot empty calories. I just recently took another three-day analysis and the only difference that I noticed was that my calorie intake was much lower than the previous analysis and I am eating less during each meal. I am still nowhere near consuming the proper amount of each of the food groups. Not eating enough of the nutrients from the major food groups is just as bad as eating too much.
