Who are managers?
Manajer adalah seseorang yang melakukan koordinasi dan pengawasan terhadap pekerjaan orang lain demi mencapai sasaran organisasi. Pekerjaan manajer adalah berupaya membantu orang lain menyelesaikan tugas-tugas mereka dengan baik. Wujudnya dapat berupa koordinasi atas pekerjaan suatu kelompok dari departemen tertentu di dalam perusahaan, atau mengawasi pekerjaan individu tertentu.
Dengan struktur organisasi tradisional, para manajer biasanya dikelompokkan kedalam kelas:


First-line Manager(supervisors, shift managers, district managers, department managers, office managers)
Jenjang terbawah manajemen, mengelola pekerjaan para karyawan non-manajerial yang biasanya melibatkan kegiatan memproduksi barang atau jasa bagi para pelanggan.



Middle Manager(regional manager, project leader, store manager, division manager
Berada di antara jenjang terbawah dan jenjang teratas organisasi, yang mengelola pekerjaan para manajer tingkat pertama.



Top Manager(executive vice president, president, managing director, chief operating officer, chief executive officer)
Jenjang teratas dalam organisasi,yang bertanggung jawab atas pengambilan keputusan yang dapat mempengaruhi jalannya organisasi, menentukan rencana dan sasaran bagi organisasi secara keseluruhan.
