...different, isn’t it? That is a reason why ‘’wow moment’’ for each person will be different. My ‘’wow moment’’ is my honey week in Egypt. Beautiful Egypt First of all, why Egypt is my wow moment it is because I never been in there before. Egypt is very beautiful country and same time very dangerous. I did spend my honey week with my husband in Hurghada, which is a beach resort town stretching some 40 km along Egypt’s Red Sea cost. It’s removed for scuba diving and has lots of diving shops. There are many different restaurants, night clubs and coffee shops. There are water is so blue like sky and sun is so big like beach ball. There are dolphins and very kind, smiling people who can speak around five different languages, including Russian, which is my language. There, every night, are fantastic shows for different taste and age. Real Egypt Secondly, Egypt is my wow moment because a contrast what you can see when you going somewhere out in town. There you can see other side of this country –rubbish on streets, poverty, soldiers and police around. Some houses look like a big scrap yards where everything placed somewhere around. There are lot of unfinished houses and people already live in there. People have a big problem with clean water and a job. Lots of people can’t afford house and they live on street. I conclusion, my wow moment is all about my honey week in Egypt because there were so many exciting contrasts. From one side beautiful, rich resorts but from other...

... Sept 17th 2012 Paper #1 “How is honey understood in African and African diasporic religions?” Honey is a sweet food made by bees using nectar from flowers. In the African religion, food stuffs are present within the ritual stories associated with African spirituality and are instructive tools symbolizing complex ideas and concepts. In one such story, Ogun, the god of iron, technology, and patron of blacksmiths, isolates himself in a forest. Because the people depended on his abilities and gifts for most of their daily lives, the community soon fell into chaos. They beseeched the great Ogun to return, only to be ignored by the orisha. Only the orisha of sensuality and female empowerment, Oshun, was able to lure Ogun from his haven. She spread her honey on his lips, and the tempted Ogun followed her out of the forest. Honey, in this story, has been said to be a metaphor for Oshun’s sexuality, and the story instructs believers about using their own particular talents for the good of the community. Honey is also used as an important type food during the ceremony of a newborn. In many African communities, the elders, usually after having engaged in divination, offer a name to the baby’s father in the morning. Divination helps determine which ancestor may be coming back through the child. Later on, in the evening, others in the community join to officially welcome the newborn. Specific ritual food and drinks will be used, such as honey, sugar, and alligator pepper for prayers;...

...Lower East Side Memories : A Jewish Place in America By HASIA R. DINER The Lower East Side and American Jewish Memory I'm Jewish because love my family matzoh ball soup. I'm Jewish because my fathers mothers uncles grandmothers said "Jewish," all the way back to Vitebsk & Kaminetz-Podolska via Lvov. Jewish because reading Dostoyevsky at 13 I write poems at restaurant tables Lower East Side, perfect delicatessen intellectual. —Allen Ginsberg, "Yiddishe Kopf" The poet Allen Ginsberg, born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, returned in his later years to a narrative style of expression, shifting gears from the anger and fire of his early career. In this poem from 1991 he also touched down again, after a long hiatus spent exploring Buddhism and Eastern philosophy, upon some Jewish themes, as a way of remembering the world of his youth. He described that world in one poem, "Yiddishe Kopf," literally, a Jewish head, but more broadly, a highly distinctive Jewish way of thinking, based on insight, cleverness, and finesse. That world for him stood upon two zones of remembrance. The world of eastern Europe, of Vitebsk, Lvov, and Kamenets-Podolski gave him one anchor for his Jewishness. Thai space of memory gave him a focus for continuity and inherited identity, tied down by the weight of the past, by family in particular. The other, the Lower East Side, nurtured and...

...CHAPTER ONE Introduction 1 1.1 INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION TO NESTLÉ S.A. Nestlé began in Switzerland in the mid 1860s when founder Henri Nestlé created one of the first baby formulas. Henri realized the need for a healthy and economical product to serve as an alternative for mothers who could not breastfeed their babies. Mothers who were unable to breastfeed often lost their infants to malnutrition. Henri’s product was a carefully formulated mixture of cow’s milk, flour and sugar. Nestlé’s first product was called Farine Lactée (“cornflour gruel” in French) Henri Nestlé. The product was first used on a premature baby who could not tolerate his mother’s milk or other alternative products of that time. Doctors gave up on treating the infant. Miraculously the baby tolerated Henri’s new formula and it provided the nourishment that saved his life. Within a few years the first Nestlé product was marketed in Europe. In 1874, Jules Monnerat purchased the Nestlé Company. Nestlé developed its own condensed milk to contend with its competitor, the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. The Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company made products like cheese and instant formulas. The two companies merged in 1905, the year after Nestlé added chocolate to its line of foods. The newly formed Nestlé and Anglo-Swiss Milk Company had factories in the United States, Britain, Spain and Germany. Soon the company was full-scale manufacturing in Australia with warehouses in Singapore, Hong Kong and...

...The country that we researched to export Peanut Butter & Co peanut butter to is Germany. Germany is located in the Western and Central part of Europe. The Capital is Berlin that is also the largest city in the country. Other large cities in the country include Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt. Germany is part of the European Union, out of all the states that make up the European Union Germany is one of the most populous countries and has the largest economies. We chose to export peanut butter to Germany, because it is a rare item to find in the country. The German people are more familiar with a product called Nutella. Nutella is a creamy Chocolate hazelnut spread that is used on all food such as breads, fruits and more. Peanut Butter and Co offer a variety of product but one similar product to Nutella is their “Dark Chocolate Dream” peanut butter. Peanut Butter & Co could have an advantage over Nutella because recently the price of Nutella rose due to a shortage of hazelnuts. The Dark Chocolate Dream as well as the other peanut products they contains no cholesterol, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, and no high-fructose corn syrup. It is also gluten-free, certified vegan, and certified kosher. Since the Germans are all about eating healthy with no artificial additives this product will be a perfect fit in the country. The United States has to follow regulations and directives form the FDA. Germany also has to follow strict protocols in order to receive products from...
