...the environment a) Implications in determining the consequences and development within the technological society and the effects a technology has on an organisms, its habitat, what capacity the natural ecosystems have to support life, and biodiversity The development of technology within society has many benefits; however it has shown adverse effects on our natural environment. The need to reach for new advances if we are not managed appropriately can collapse natural ecosystems. Regretfully our ideologies have caused the vast social problems that we are forced to deal with today. Technology advancements have positive implications, but it has also had devastating effects on the environment. We have been practicing a growth at any and all cost ideology in regards to technology and the damage it is causing to the environment. This has created an every growing social issue. This attitude has led to the loss of biodiversity that will inevitably bring the collapse of ecosystems. We take more resources from the earth and space as our population increases. As a result we are disrupting the habitats of animal species that live in undeveloped areas. As we expand our range to make room for new communities we inadvertently displace the natural order of insects, animals and plants that occupy the land. Our attitude towards growth and technology serves human needs and comfort at the expense of animals, organism and the ecosystems that sustain them. Our reliance on technology is hurting...

...Innovative learning environments or technologies are bad in need in the developing or underdeveloped countries which are accountable for 2/3 rd of the world population. Human resource scaling depends upon the elementary education after which a country can develop through encouraging that resource by giving wide exposures at the level best. I have great experience on the education at secondary school level, from standard V to standard IX,( age between 10-15 years). Over crowded classes (180:1,student teacher ratio) , first generation learners, ignorance of parents as well as the society, very poor financial condition, superstition, under aged marriage of girls are the hindrance of the education. I am facing every day being the Head of an educational institute. More over the drastic shortage of teachers in the Govt. Aided institutions, political interference, lack of infrastr4uctures, lack of financial aids are very painful for proper educational development. There are other problems also. But within these adverse situations the education system need to be nourished by developing proper learning environments or technologies. From my experience I think the followings are the major environments or technologies need to be developed. 1. To develop centralized monitoring system and centralized addressing system: As this system is well known in developed countries but it is not well practiced in developing or underdeveloped countries. Due to shortage of teachers, class rooms, over...

...Wireless Technologies and Networks in a Work Environment Edoardo Castillo BIS 221 February 5, 2015 Bill Fennell Wireless technologies and the use of networks have become a great part of our professional lives. We use networks to communicate and share ideas in a professional environment without having to be face-to-face with one another. Some of the advantages wireless technology has given us are mobility, flexibility, increased productivity, and reduced cost of manpower and material. These are just some of the advantages that wireless technology offers us, but we need to keep in mind that there are risks to this technology (Nascio.org, 2004). Although wireless technology has some significant benefits, it also has some disadvantages. Protecting confidential information within a company continues to be a concern for businesses all around the world. Another concern is the strength of a network and its ability to work at its full potential in broad range areas. Implementing a wireless technology like Wi-Fi will increase the productivity of any company or corporation. Wi-Fi will decrease the cost of materials and wires needed to link all of the workstations to a central network. Placing secure Wi-Fi points in and around offices for employees can significantly improve productivity within a period of work time. Yes, a Wireless Local Access Network gives you several advantages such as convenience, mobility, deployment, and expandability in a network. However just like wireless...

...PERSONAL LEARNING Presentation titled, 'Why we should donate blood'. I've discussed to members of the group to choose this topic, because it happened in every country and it is easy to be described and presented. In every country have associations and clubs for blood donation. Blood is very important to the human body because blood carries oxygen to every limbs of the human body to provide energy to work or do anything. My friends and I was explained the meaning of blood and describes about blood donation. When I was doing a research on blood donation activities, I can conclude that in every country, these activities have received less attention because people assume the blood donation is an activity which is a waste of time and they are too busy with their daily activities. By doing a presentation, I can understand the actual meaning of the matter it was the blood donation. As a result, I was able to deepen knowledge about the outside world. I have made a report about blood donation. I found in any public or private hospital has inadequate blood supply. This is very dangerous because when patients who need the blood, he forced be taken from the family members or the same blood sample. This will take a long time to do because family members need to make in advance of the examination. 'Why we should to donate blood' I emphasize this topic because it is important to every person. 'Why' refers to the reason and the importance of donating blood. 'We should' means the necessary...

...Wireless Technologies and Networks in the Work Environment Tablets, smartphones and laptops have given workers more flexibility in how they work and learn. Contributing to that flexibility is the ability to access the Web with these devices via wireless networks. No longer do people need to be in the same room – or even in the same country to collaborate and tackle a project. Answers to questions can be given instantly via a mobile call, conference, email or text message. The need for travel is reduced, and collaborators are accessible for longer periods throughout the day. In fact, the IAAP poll also showed that 86 percent of surveyed execs think that workers will be more accessible for collaboration in the future even while on vacation (International Association of Administrative Professionals: Office of The Future 2020 Computer: Smartphones Enabling Mobile Collaboration). Wireless communication has also made it much easier for Information Technology departments to install and maintain hardware in large organizations. Previously, connecting PCs, printers and other devices to the company network required running lengths of cable throughout the facility, often requiring access to sub-floor or ceiling spaces -- and a single bad wire could trigger hours of work trying to find the defect. Wireless networking is much easier to configure, simply requiring configured repeaters placed to extend the signal throughout the office. Wireless networks are also easy to access, as long...

...Cody Hudson Professor Michelle Grady Communications Cluster 21 March 2013 Brave New World: Technology and the End of Jobs “Brave New World” is a phrase said many times by people, since Aldous Huxley wrote the novel Brave New World in 1932, every time a greater technology, for anything, comes about; not necessarily referring to Huxley’s book, but more referring to the fact that modern technology is becoming so great that it will/or has downsized companies by replacing the human element. Sure jobs are lost, but is this a bad thing? One would have to really dive into the question and do some in-depth research and analysis to figure out the answer, but maybe there is not a right answer? Whether greater technology advances are better or not, one thing is for certain; people will lose jobs because of it. Auto plant workers, factories, coal miners, farming, telephone operators, cashiers, tollbooth collectors, and bankers: These are just a few examples of jobs that are being replaced by greater technology in our present day, even some earlier on. Yes, this is a bad thing for the people employed by those jobs, but maybe for the “greater good,” whatever that term, used by many optimistic people, is really supposed to mean, the same technology that ended those jobs will create more jobs or even better jobs--who knows? Maybe the advances in technology aren’t needed, but created because of corporate greed, to minimize a company’s cost to employees and fatten the wallets of the suits...

...The PEST Analysis It is important that an organization considers its environment before beginning the marketing process. In fact, environmental analysis should be continuous and feed all aspects of planning. The organization’s marketing environment is made up of: 1. The internal environment e.g. staff (or internal customers), office technology, wages and finance, etc. 2. The micro-environment e.g. our external customers, agents and distributors, suppliers, our competitors, etc. 3. The macro-environment e.g. Political (and legal) forces, Economic forces, Sociocultural forces, and Technological forces. These are known as PEST factors. PEST Political Factors The political arena has a huge influence upon the regulation of businesses, and the spending power of consumers and other businesses. You must consider issues such as: * How stable is the political environment? * Will government policy influence laws that regulate or tax your business? * What is the government’s position on marketing ethics? * What is the government’s policy on the economy? * Does the government have a view on culture and religion? * Is the government involved in trading agreements such as EU, NAFTA, ASEAN, or others? * Political stability * Risk of military invasion * Legal framework for contract enforcement * Intellectual property protection * Trade regulations & tariffs * Favored trading partners * Anti-trust laws * Pricing regulations * Taxation...

...the required set of resources, efficiently target valuable customers, meet financial targets and competes effectively. These strategic decisions drive the long-term direction of the organization, the scope of its activities, help gain advantage over competitors, and address changes in the business environment. The case of IMAX begins in 1994 when business partners Gelfond and Wechsler decided to purchase the organisation from its original owners and take the company public. IMAX operates in a people oriented business, operating within the entertainment industry. Through the years the owners have made strategic efforts in the direction of reaching new audiences. These efforts, in addition to IMAX’s external environment, will be analysed and explored in the sections that follow. The result of this analysis will be the comparison of the firm’s strategy with the identified industry survival and success factors, in a bid to ascertain the relevant factors that would drive future growth. 2. IMAX’s business environment A number of theorists, notably Michael Porter (1979) have developed several frameworks for understanding and analysing the effect that an organization’s external environment could have on its competitiveness and profitability. These frameworks identify the following as notable forces: Threat of new entrants; Threat of substitutes; Bargaining power of suppliers; Bargaining power of buyers; and Intensity of rivals. This model has updated by Haberber and Rieple (2008) to...

...Technology Ventures Prompt: Rutgers professors have invented a novel method for real-time tracking of the position of 3D wireless transmitters in indoor environments. It provides positioning software and core tracking services for various wireless technologies, including WiFi, ZigBee as well as active RFID tags. The unique combination of hardware and software works with minimal human effort. Users can begin tracking devices on their existing wireless networks by simply placing a few Kortrax landmarks in their building. No additional set up is required. 1. What problem(s) likely led to recognition of the technology? Provide a full market understanding for one of the problems you identify - be sure to discuss the nature of the problem - and describe the technical understanding that made this invention possible. (50 Points) (2 pages, single-spaced max.) Problem There were several underlying issues that created a need for this 3D tracking Wireless technology, which dealt mostly with the lack of efficiency in certain environments. Wireless technologies already aide in improving efficiencies—for example, the use of RFIDs by Walmart has immensely helped manage its inventories and overall, improve its supply chain. However, there is a large gap in accurately tracking their inventory in each phase, especially in an indoor environment. To offer a better example of this problem, it will be helpful to look at how this tracking technology affects the emergency services and hospital...
