...Executive Summary Exercise is an important part of any individuals life. Identifying the differences within the exercise world is highly complicated because it deals with understanding what drives people. Everyone is born different and functions differently mentally. Consequently, each individual has a different drive, motivation and mindset which draws them to believe exercise is needed in there life. Exercise can be defined as any physical activity that has the capability of enhancing or maintaining an individual’s overall health and well-being. Therefore, understanding the way we feel about our bodies, health and well-being has a huge output on the way we live. The way people carry themselves and function mentally highly determines the decisions they make in life. Unlike many things in life this is not one concept that is easy to comprehend because the details of motivation vary for each individual. In this study, we deeply untangle the reason behind why people exercise. We conducted a survey of 105 participants whom took a 4 point scale survey. From strongly agree to strongly disagree we then had many limitations that occurred in our study. From our findings we can predict that health and exercise are predictors of image. In conclusion, we believe the people whom took this survey need a sense of reality. We have many recommendations that sum up our conclusions in accordance to our own self interpretation of this topic. Table of Contents Executive........

...work-life balance. I chose this topic after doing the wheel of life project in class. When I did that activity I was amazed to see how far off my work-life balance was. From what my ideal wheel of life looked like compared to my actual wheel of life they were way opposite from each other. There were some other students around me that had similar appearances but not quite as drastic as mine was. So after that activity I decided that I would look into other’s work-life balance and how they manage stress. To narrow my results I chose to look at others in the same profession that I am in, nursing. To research this topic I talked or interviewed other nurses including co-workers and other classmates, I handed out a brief five question survey and a wheel of life activity for them to fill out and return to me and I also used the text for ways to improve work-life balance and reduce stress. So after a staff meeting I handed out several surveys and spoke with about 8 co-workers. I received 24 surveys back and only about 7 wheel of life activities. The things that I spoke with the other nurses about were things such as; what causes stress, what relives their stress, how stress effects their lives, what could their employer do to lower stress, and does the employer offer them assistance already in creating a more balance in their work and life. The survey that was handed out had 5 questions on it and I received 24 back. The following 5 questions were what were asked on the survey. On a...

...trouble in their young adult years. I need to ask a few random adolescent’s from a pool that have a bad history and from a pool that has no record. (between 100-200) within the age ranges of 11 through 18. This should give me a really good spectrum of how it will affect their daily lives if it even affects it at all. We know that mothers and fathers have two totally different impacts on a child’s life but just how different are they. I am investigating this problem because to my understanding every time something occurs in a young man’s life that is not okay in the public eye, the first thing that is said is “He act like that cause he don’t or didn’t have a father figure in his life.” After all yes I do think that having someone in your life that you can look up to do change the way we view things and how we approach daily struggles what choices can benefit them or which ones wont. There are previous studies that have been conducted on this certain topic some have been incomplete and inconclusive due to the sampling differences (Wells & Rankin, 1991), some have found that after longitudinal studies, they do show correlation between lo parental supervision and delinquency (Loeber & Stouthamer-Loeber, 1986; Anderson, Holmes, & Ostrech, 1999; Beaty, 1995; Biller & Baum, 1971; Harper & McLanahan, 1999) they all found that criminal activity increases when the children have no father figure in the home. One research study that stood out the most was one that was...

...Subjective Experience to a Survey on The Psychological Impact of Fly in Fly out (FIFO) Lifestyle Introduction Imagine if you will being in an environment where the vast majority of the people around you have broken marriages, lost access to their children and or money due to the impact of their fly in fly out (FIFO) lifestyle. Over my 5 year FIFO mining career I have heard countless stories from my co-workers of heartbreak and sadness. Based on these real life examples and large subject pool spanning many years in the industry I have developed strong opinions on this particular subject matter. I recently took part in an online survey being conducted at CQU. I perceived the purpose of this survey was to try to find the impact that FIFO lifestyle has on families and relationships. To try and measure FIFO workers levels of life satisfaction as well as their families and how this roster had an impact on emotional wellbeing. After completing the survey I was left feeling unfulfilled and frustrated. The survey to me did not ask questions that allowed me as the participant to give a true account of what I thought was being asked. Even if the survey was not trying to get a depiction of the impact FIFO lifestyle has on families, I still felt it was not in-depth enough to develop an accurate representation of the vital aspects of this lifestyle. Participating in the study This survey in my opinion was trying to answer the long asked question of what is the impact of FIFO lifestyle...

...Chapter 2 What is your self orientation? Before doing this survey I believe I a balanced x and y manager. I try to see the good in every employee and believe people have their own way of doing things. Sometimes you need to handle certain employees different ways to get them to work properly and correctly in a timely manner. After doing the survey I was not very surprised it gave me a score inbetween both x and y of a 22 and 23. The results showed that my primary thinking style is Achievement, which falls under the constructive cluster/category. My secondary thinking style was Humanistic-Encouraging which also falls under the constructive cluster/category. Cadavers and donated bodies remain a principal teaching tool for anatomists and medical educators teaching gross anatomy. Hands on experience on dead body helps learn various medical concepts and nature of human body. There is ever increasing demand of cadavers for anatomy dissection. Apart from educational uses, dead body donation may also include specific organ donations which could be required for saving life of severaly injured or diseased living beings as well. Even then people are reluctant to donate their bodies after death due to various reasons. This research is made in order to know these factors which results in opposition to dead body donation. Study also suggests ways to actually increase awareness in our society about dead body donation. ...questions. Based on 24 questionnaires with college students, all which were of different backgrounds and economic statuses. The correlation between the willingness of both genders to marry a person with certain characteristic was being measured. It was believed that males would be more willing to marry one with the studied characteristics. After the results were compiled, it was concluded that males were more willing to marry a person with more characteristic than females. This study suggests that females have more or higher standards in a partner than a male does. Will you marry me? This is a question that arises in many conversations between most couples. Few things remain consistent or predictable from one generation to the next. It has been said that the only thing constant is change, and the speed with which social trends and values change in American society seems testament to this. The cycle of life itself is the common line that ties each generation of life to the next. In American life at least, the cycle of life manifests through the tradition of marriage. Seeking, pursuing, and securing a desired mate is the most natural expression of life possible. However, marriage trends and ideals are not themselves stationary. Over the past few decades, the trend in marriage has changed significantly. In today’s society there is more diversity between married couples, which range from race, and religion to education, and earning potential. The reasons for these changes are because...

...people’s temporary cognitive performance as well as different aspects of their well-being, but the true correlation of the amount consumed and emotional well-being has widely differed and has not been completely determined. This study was conducted by surveying 52 individuals who responded to an array of questions such as when they consume the drinks and how they feel overall. The results indicate that people who have energy drinks on a frequent basis rate their emotional well-being slightly lower than those people who use rarely or never. Litterature Review There have been several previous studies that have focused on the effects that energy drinks have on a person’s emotional well-being as well as other aspects of life. A 2012 literature review study by Ishak et al. examined different works that have been previously published in order to determine the overall findings. 41 studies were identified through Pubmed, Medline, and PsycINFO databases from the dates of 1990 to 2011, using the keywords “energy or tonic drinks, psychological...

...Life Styles Inventory (LSI) Self-Description Suggs MGMT-591-20612 (Leadership & Org. Behavior) January 15, 2015 The Life Styles Inventory (LSI) survey was something that helped me somewhat understand more about myself than I knew before. It also was helpful with confirming other characteristics about myself that I already knew and had knowledge of. After taking the Life Style Inventory survey, I noticed that I scored relatively high in the following areas: Perfectionist, Power, and Competitive. These three were my top out of the 12 categories or characteristics from the LSI survey. I would agree with two of the following, in which the competitive style kind of surprised me. Then again, thinking about the types of decisions and situation that I’ve come across, those three things actually play a big part in how I deal with different things. When it comes down to situations that involve work or even my social life, I have the tendency to show each one of those styles in some way, shape, or form. Within society, those three styles, in my opinion, are needed in order to survive this “cold” world that we live in. If you are strong willed, you will succeed, but if you are weak minded, you might crumble beneath the pressure of society and the beings that live in it. Perfectionist, Power, and Competitiveness are things that play a key role within the aspect of my life and everyday situations. I’ve always been the strong willed being, which always strive for success regardless...
