1. Yes, I believe so. In an organization where a relaxed atmosphere is sold to the customers, such as the example in the case study, I believe that it will benefit from a more informal and relaxed attitude between the employees. In a small operation such as an inn, I do not think that a lot of supervisors and layers of managers throughout the hierarchy is needed, and therefore a more relaxed atmosphere can be adapted.
2. It sure is. A charismatic leader does not have to be strict and formal in order to inspire people. He can be seen as an equal to the people he is leading. A person without leadership skills would have to communicate in a formal and managerial manner in order to influence people to perform tasks.
3. I do not think so. Before when Osias was in charge, the staff felt that they could work and express themselves in a relaxed atmosphere where I think it was easier to be honest. The employees did not have to fear punishment if they had issues or complaints. With Gagnon, everything is very strict and formal, and everyone has to communicate with their closes superior. I believe that when communicating with someone who can be seen as more of a friend than a manager, a person can be more honest and open which in the long run can be beneficial.
4. Everyone has the right to be angry. I can see why the employees at the inn are angry at the new innkeeper since he came in and changed the operations completely. However, the employees have to know that as long as Gagnon is operating within the law and according to the rules, they have to accept it or quit. Levesque did the right thing in my eyes. She felt that she could not work under the new owner and therefore quit. In the long run, I think that the employees could be happy working under Gagnon. He wanted to make the inn more profitable, bring in more customers, and start putting the place on the map. This
