Out of five hundred and seventeen students, only nine dared to stay. These nine would soon change the United States forever. The Little Rock Nine were by far the bravest people in history. Those nine were Ernest Green, Elizabeth Eckford, Melba Patillo Beals, Jefferson Thomas, Terrence Roberts, Carlotta Walls, Minnijean Brown, Gloria Ray, and Thelma Mothershed. The memoir impacts me the most. The historical fiction book makes you feel sympathy because it makes you feel like you are in the main character’s shoes. The memoir is the most informative because it was written from person experience. The photograph shows you exactly what was happening and makes you feel somehow sad. The informational text has more information, but less visuals. The video shares both visuals and information. In the informational text, “Elizabeth Eckford: Facing a Mob on the First Day of School” It shows a photograph that depicts a crowd of white people surrounding Elizabeth Eckford. In the book “Warriors Don’t Cry” By Melba Patillo Beals, the author describes exact things that occured in Central High. “I know of no physical injury to any of the nine students. I was slapped by one girl.” She shows that there was plenty of hurtful things happening. The memoir gave me the most information. It did because it was written from personal experience, as well as it giving the best visuals asides from the photographs. I am being biased because the memoir was written by one of the Little Rock Nine, and so my choice was obvious because it had the most accurate, true, and honest information.
