The protagonist in A Scanner Darkly is an interesting one. The protagonist is undercover police officer who become addicted to the drug named Substance D that has taking over. When he got addicted, it was like he was two different people. The protagonist Bob Arctor was chosen to do this assignment out of all the other agents. The reason I think they chose him because he had nothing. After leaving his family for his own reasons, I think they chose him because of that. He had no one to care about and he even stated that the life with his family was boring. That made him the right man for the job.
The film uses animations throughout it and it make the movie look like it in a different world. Especially in the scene with Freck. In the beginning
