...the happiness will be the listeners of the radio station being entertained at the time the prank is broadcasted, which is a huge number of people (Low, 2013). Owners of the radio station will also be happy when the amount of listeners that tune into the radio channel at this particular time increased to listen to the prank calls made by the radio DJs. This extent of happiness will far exceed the extent of unhappiness caused by this prank call, which are only the nurses being pranked and/or the characters being imitated in the prank call. We can also take another feature for the calculation of the amount of happiness being generated, for example, the duration of happiness (Low, 2013). The duration of the unhappiness is longer than happiness because people who are unhappy tend to take a longer time to recover from that unhappiness. The happiness that the listeners have only will last during the few minutes of the broadcast or maybe a few minutes after as well. The total amount of happiness will still outweigh the total amount of unhappiness because the extent of happiness far exceeds and dominates the net amount of happiness. Therefore, it will be ethical to broadcast the prank call based on utilitarianism. * Kantian Ethics Based on Kantian Ethics, the duty of the radio station is to gain listeners by letting listeners enjoy listening to the radio station and also have a higher rating as compared to other radio stations. To be morally permissible, the rule: ‘if I were...

...New Job RMON Research Nearly every business depends on smooth-running communications networks. So the need for professionals that know how to design, implement, secure, and manage them is everywhere. After doing Network and Communications Management Degree Program. With new positions opening up and older NCM workers retiring, networking promises to be a growing career field in North America for years to come. After reading this report we will get that the features of it and how it will benefits to our organization to fulfill the corporate network solutions. Now I am going to tell you what are RMON and RMON probes and how they are utilized in enterprise network management systems and how they would benefit the company: RMON (Remote Network Monitoring) provides standard information that a network administrator can use to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot a group of distributed local area networks (LANs) and interconnecting T-1/E-1 and T-2/E-3 lines from a central site. It's specified as part of the Management Information Base (MIB) in Request for Comments 1757 as an extension of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). RMON can be supported by hardware monitoring devices (known as "probes") or through software or some combination. For example, Cisco's line of LAN switches includes software in each switch that can trap information as traffic flows through and record it in its MIB. RMON collects nine types of information, including packets sent, bytes sent, packets...

...improve the service. Input: The input in this process is the customer requests/issues. Output: The output in this process is the solution provided in response to requests/issues. Journey: Journey starts with a call by the customer to the telecom service provider’s call center which involves interacting with an Interactive Voice Response Unit (IVR) and possibly discussing the request/issue with a an agent. Gap/Opportunity: Despite the advancements made in this sector there are areas which could be improved upon which can lead to a reduction in resolution time and an increase in customer satisfaction. The quality of the service is can be said to depend on three factors: * The length of time a customer has to wait to receive service, * The time it takes an agent to provide the service and * Value and relevance of the service that the customer has received. The proposed changes in this document concentrate on the opportunities for call centers to reduce the time that is needed to provide service to the customer once the customer gets connected to an agent, and specific measures...

...etc (Hill Associates, 2008). Along with all these tools there are four basic components that a network management system consists of. They are the agent, network management station, network management protocol, and the management information (Hill Associates, 2008). As mentioned before a network management system has many tools available to use. Trouble ticket systems are used to manage and keep track of any and all issues relating to the network (OTRS Team, 2012). A very useful feature of trouble ticket systems is that they save and archive the tickets with all pertinent information like who was involved, the problem and any notes or solutions (OTRS Team, 2012). In case a particular event occurs again the help desk team has a reference to look to for assistance. With any kind of machine or system, maintenance must take place in order for it to perform to its full potential. Software and hardware updates are essential for the smooth running of a network (TWD & Associates, Inc., 2012). Many updates provide fixes to known bugs (TWD & Associates, Inc., 2012). Backups are also important as they provide a safety net in the event of lost data. Load balancing and traffic analysis allow for the appropriate allocation of bandwidth for traffic sent over the network (TWD & Associates, Inc., 2012). A management agent is a program that is downloaded to a network...

...have found the culprit of The Asta Situation. After two rounds of interviews with everyone in The Agency, I have found who shaved Asta. On top of that, I also found what they used to shave Asta, when they shaved Asta, and why they shaved Asta. In secret agent terms, these pieces of evidence are called the means, the opportunity, and the motive. Since I am a fabulous agent, I know that Cara is clearly the culprit of the Asta Situation because she has access to the letter opener, she was seen going into the room where Asta was sleeping, and she was doing it all for her love of Dickie. Cara had the means to shave Asta. In my second interview with Dickie he told me, “Yes, I did ask Agent MacGuffin for the letter opener. ...Glossary 1xEV-DO. See EV-DO. 1xEV-DV. The third phase of CDMA2000 following 1xEV-DO deployment. 1xEV-DV stands for 1x Evolution - Data Voice, and is characterized by a maximum data rate of 5.2 Mbps and the ability to support wireless Voice over IP (VoIP) services. 1xRTT. The first phase of CDMA2000, characterized by the ability to support a maximum data rate of 1.44 Kbps. 1xRTT stands for 1x, denoting the one radio channel of 1.25 MHz in Radio Transmission Technology. 2G. The second generation of wireless technology that was characterized by its use of digital transmissions rather than analog methods. Radio bandwidth is used for data transmissions. Data transmissions are limited to a maximum rate of 1.44 Kbps for CDMA 2G services (9.6 Kbps for GSM 2G). Radio bandwidth is consumed whenever the Mobile Node (MN) is connected to the Internet, regardless of whether it is receiving or transmitting data. This is based on the IS-95A standard for CDMA. 2.5G. An evolutionary step between 2G and 3G wireless services wherein two enhancements were introduced over 2G. The first is that the MN only consumes radio bandwidth when data is being transmitted or received. The second is that the maximum data rate increased to approximately 64 Kbps. Most 2.5G services only support data rates between 1.15 Kbps and 384 Kbps. This is based on the IS-95B standard for CDMA. 3G. The third generation of wireless technology, wherein data services are packetized, with...

...13 Agent-Oriented Novel Quantum Key Distribution Protocol for the Security in Wireless Network Xu Huang, Shirantha Wijesekera and Dharmendra Sharma University of Canberra Australia 1. Introduction Wireless security is becoming increasingly important as wireless applications and systems are widely adopted. Numerous organizations have already installed or are busy in installing “wireless local area networks” (WLANs). These networks, based on the IEEE 802.11 standard, are very easy to deploy and inexpensive. Wi-Fi allows LANs to be deployed without cabling for client devices, typically reducing the costs of network deployment and expansion. As of 2007 wireless network adapters are built into most modern laptops. The price of chipsets for Wi-Fi continues to drop, making it an economical networking option included in ever more devices. Wi-Fi has become widespread in corporate infrastructures, which also helps with the deployment of RFID technology that can piggyback on Wi-Fi. WiFi is a global set of standards, unlike mobile telephones, any standard Wi-Fi device will work anywhere in the world. Other important trends in wireless adoptions are including the introduction of wireless email with devices such as the Blackberry and The Palm VII, rampant digital cell phone use, including the use of short message service (SMWS), and the advent of Bluetooth devices. But the risks associated with the adoption of wireless networking are only now coming to light. A number of impressive attacks...

...In Management of Environmental Quality, An International Journal vol.15, no.3, pp.238-249, 2004. Emerald Publishers. An agent-based intelligent environmental monitoring system Ioannis N. Athanasiadis and Pericles A. Mitkas ABSTRACT Fairly rapid environmental changes call for continuous surveillance and on- line decision- making. Two areas where IT technologies can be valuable. In this paper we present a multi-agent system for monitoring and assessing air-quality attributes, which uses data coming from a meteorological station. A community of software agents is assigned to monitor and validate measurements coming from several sensors, to assess air-quality, and, finally, to fire alarms to appropriate recipients, when needed. Data mining techniques have been used for adding data-driven, customized intelligence into agents. The architecture of the developed system, its domain ontology, and typical agent interactions are presented. Finally, the deployment of a real-world test case is demonstrated. Keywords : Multi-Agent Systems, Intelligent Applications, Data Mining, Inductive Agents, Air-Quality Monitoring Introduction Environmental Information Systems (EIS) is a generic term that describes the class of systems that perform one or more of the following tasks: environmental monitoring, data storage and access, disaster description and response, environmental reporting, planning and simulation, modeling and decision- making. As the requirements for accurate and timely information...

In some cases, the necessity agent will exist, in an emergency, where by a person is entrusted by force to protect other’s property, although he has not been appointed by the principal. However, it is necessary for the agent to protect the property as on principal behalf, even he has no express authority to do so. For example, in Great Northern Railway Co. vs. Swaffield,1874, cases, Mr. Swaffield sent his horse by a railway to a station at Sandy. The...

...in the media industry more especially radio broadcasting. The need for community radio stations in Zambia has risen over the past few years this is because radio is still the dominant mass-medium in Zambia and Globally. It has the widest geographical reach and the highest audiences as compared to television, newspapers and other information and communication technologies. Radio seems to have proven itself as a developmental tool, particularly with the rise of community and local radios. Therefore, its from this background that this article…. A community radio station is a type of community mass media. The different types of mass media in Zambia can be classified under print, broadcast and electronic media. A community radio station is defined as a non-profit distributing which is designed to serve specific communities of location and interest, thereby providing programming that is relevant to the community, and with management structures that represent the community the station serves.
