...(U) A United States invasion on North Korea (NK) would have a major impact on North Korea’s culture and family life. This is imperative to understanding North Korean culture and how influences inside and outside the country can affect the citizens of North Korea. (U) North Korea is a communist country. Being a communist country has had a negative impact on society in the past decades. A war began between North and South Korea due to tensions based on South Korea wanting to become a country based on capitalism. “On June 25th, 1950 the war between North and South Korea began” (Culture Gram, paragraph 3). North Korea has been under suspicion by the United Nations for “torturing, starving and killing potential dissidents in prison camps” (Culture...

...efraim We hate to ask this, but where do we draw the line from the wanting to watch anime to needing to watch it. Our personal take on anime is we watch what we enjoy. And we truly like anime. But we keep thinking we should stop watching because it is childish. We purchase anime on rare occasions, and watch anime maybe once a week. Recently we have been watched a lot more anime than we should often since we found online site for anime. We’ve guess what we am saying is most of my friends and family "don't get the anime thing". Therefore, we end up watching anime on my own feeling something like a social outcast. Socially we am busy being as we am out of college, in a very exhausting job, trying to find time to date, into sports, looking into grad school, etc. we know there are others out there thinking the same thing. So what is your takes on this. Does anime become a social dysfunction? Portraying anime as a cultural thing can only go so far...I guess what they saying are "doing get the anime influenced". Therefore, we should end up watching anime on our own feeling something like a social outcast. Socially we are busy being as we am out of college, in a very exhausting job, trying to find time to date, into sports, looking into grad school, etc. Seems to that you’re only a casual anime fan, so were good. As long as we have a life that extends beyond anime, don't worry. When you start using Japanese words in daily conversation, sit at a computer all night...

...before you can develop one, you’ll need to establish a few cause-effect parameters. 1. What effect or effects will you be analyzing in the essay? 2. What causal chain leads to the effect? 3. What primary cause (also known as the main cause, or necessary cause, or first cause) is the basis for the causal chain, and thus, the basis for the effect? (It’s imperative to establish a causal chain, but it’s not enough. There can be more than one chain; there can be more than one effect; but there should only be one primary cause.) 4. What relationship will you be trying to establish between cause and effect (your topic), and why (your thesis) ? Causes ü First, of course, there is the primary cause. This is the necessary cause without which the effect could not occur; it’s the first link in any causal chains that follows. ü Then there are the sufficient causes, which by themselves might produce the effect you’ve chosen to discuss in your paper, yet still find their root farther back along the chain in the primary cause. Example: Say that your topic is the causes for the effect of roommate feuds. • Contributing causes might be sloppiness, bad music, and staying up all night. • Trace that back a bit further in the chain and you may find a sufficient cause like the differences between two roommates (one’s sloppy, one’s neat; one likes Mozart, the other likes Snoop Dogg, one’s a morning person, the other’s a night owl). • Many people stop here, and sometimes this is as far as...

Use proper citations and references. ü Follow APA guidelines and proofread the memo carefully for grammar, syntax, and spelling. ü Remember that you are only an employee at Persuade Café; you are not a supervisor, manager, or outside consultant. ü Do a good job of thinking through your idea for a recommendation before you decide on it. ü Your job is to get your recommendation idea approved ahead so that you will be one of the employees selected to make a PowerPoint presentation to the entire company executive team. ü Your audience is the one executive you chose. Read the profiles of all executives carefully and select your one executive with great care. Every executive...

...Texas Watch Newsletter Lesson 1: Dissolved Oxygen Testing Water Quality Sampling Time Frame: Three 45-50 minute class Grade Level: 8th – 12th grade Overview: Dissolved Oxygen Dissolved oxygen is the form of oxygen in water that is freely available to aquatic plants and animals. Dissolved oxygen is vital to fish and other aquatic life and for the prevention of odors. Oxygen is transferred from the atmosphere into surface waters, as well as being produced by aquatic plants, algae and phytoplankton as a by-product of photosynthesis. Once dissolved in water, oxygen diffuses throughout a water body very slowly since distribution depends on the movement of aerated water by turbulence and currents, water flow and thermal upwelling. Traditionally, the level of dissolved oxygen has been accepted as the single most important indicator of a water body’s ability to support desirable aquatic life. The amount of oxygen required varies according to species and the stage of life of a species. Usually, dissolved oxygen levels of 5.0 to 6.0 part per million (ppm) are required for growth and activity. Dissolved oxygen levels below 3.0 ppm are stressful to most aquatic organisms. When levels fall below 2.0 ppm for an extended period of time, most fish will not survive. Oxygen is a particularly sensitive constituent because its availability during different times of day and times of year is influenced by temperature, other chemicals present in the water, and biological processes. Temperature...

...On September 2, 2017 I watched my very first University of Minnesota Volleyball game. This was our second home game, and I was extremely excited to see how the girl’s were going to play this night. With a group of friends, together we planned meeting up at Centennial Hall before going to the Sports Pavilion to cheer on the Volleyball team. On our way towards the Sport Pavilion, we accidentally grouped up with a bunch of other U of M students who was going to watch the game, as well. When arriving, I noticed what seemed to be a extremely long line coming from inside the door leading into the parking lot. Everybody coming from different directions trying to get inside to see this game made me realize how well the students, and the people...

...Is Apple’s release of the Apple Watch an example of good innovation timing? Yes, Apple’s release of the Apple watch is an example of good innovation timing. Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation that produces consumer electronics and computer software products. It was co-founded by the iconic Steve Jobs and the other founders Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. Though it faced tremendous amount of adversities in the initial, under the stewardship of Steve Jobs, the brand became a household brand. The company's reputable gadgets include Macintosh computers and laptops, the iPod and the iPhone. Apple software includes the Mac OS X operating system, the iTunes media browser and many other applications (Rouse, 2009). Being a titan in the consumer electronics industry, its latest innovation would the Apple watch. Although other smartwatches has been out in the market. I feel that Apple watch was an example of good innovation timing. The first reason to support my claim would be that, Apple has made life easier for payments. Unlike other smartwatches that does not support the payment through smart gadgets. Apple has made it easier for Apple watch users to pay using the Apple Pay function. This is a mobile payment and digital wallet that allows the users to make payments via their smartwatches at the most secured way (Apple, 2015). This function is so much notable that great companies such as Barclays (Brian, 2016)and ExxonMobil (Campbell, 2016) are backing up this feature...

...IDEA WATCH FOR ARTICLE REPRINTS CALL 800-988-0886 OR 617-783-7500, OR VISIT HBR.ORG What Makes Analysts Say “Buy”? all Street analysts’ recommendations can move markets. But even though leaders of public companies spend significant amounts of time interacting with this constituency, there’s little information about how analysts arrive at their recommendations. What factors most influence their thinking? We set out to answer that question through a global study of analyst forecasts and stock performance over two consecutive years in the mid-2000s. We surveyed nearly 1,000 analysts in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., asking them to rate almost 1,000 large companies on 12 factors, FINANCE by Boris Groysberg, Paul Healy, Nitin Nohria, and George Serafeim W using a scale of one to five, and to forecast revenue growth, earnings growth, and gross margin on the basis of those ratings. We also estimated how important each factor was to their ultimate recommendations. The strongest determinant of a buy or sell recommendation, we learned, is projected industry growth, followed by the quality of the top management team. Analysts in different regions often weighed factors quite differently, though. For example, having a clear, well-communicated strategy was of “very high” importance to analysts in Europe but of “low” importance to those in other regions. One of the most FACTORS THAT DRIVE BUY RECOMMENDATIONS CLEAR, WELL-COMMUNICATED STRATEGY ABILITY TO EXECUTE...
