The doctors all rules out anything cause by viruses that were happening around the community. The evaluations from all residents were all the same no common illnesses around the community matched the one of our community. The doctor did tell us the cause of the illnesses could be caused by a gas leak from a long term espouser to a gas leak. The residents of the community still wanted to ask is there any other way something else could be causing this? Could it be a faulty part the gas company used? The community then had a different plumber that installed gas products to check each of the houses and see if there was any faulty parts. Then they checked the system for leaks. The findings determined there was leaks throughout the community in several locations. The gas company who installed the gas products during construction seemed to be at fault for this. ...Together We Stand Outline HUM/111 July 1, 2012 Together We Stand Outline I. Introduction To whom it may concern, I am writing this to inform all residents living in or around Bayside that we have had many of our residents become ill with similar extensive symptoms. We have been doing thorough research to get down to the bottom of the problem, and have narrowed the illness down to a possible improper chemical disposal at a nearby company. We are doing everything in our legal power to get this unfortunate matter taken care of. II. Diagnosis The first thing I would do would be to contact those residents whom I know have been contracted with the illness, and ask them questions related to, where were they at the on-set of the illness? How long have they had said symptoms? Did anyone who may have been with them get sick as well? Were they exposed to anything unusual that may have gotten them sick? I would ask many questions that could help me get to the cause of the problem. a. Symptoms Here I would keep a book and log every symptom from every person I interviewed. This would allow me to find a possible pattern in related symptoms. I would also document ages and genders of residents who got the illness, so to see if there is a difference in children versus adult symptoms. b. Medications/Vaccines After evaluating ill residents’ symptoms, I would then ask them questions about what they have done to fight the illness. What medications have they tried?...

...to direct my research to power lines, water sources and gas sources. I then began to think about the previous questions I have asked myself and found that it was one of those sources. After finding out the information that I did, I then had to dig a little deeper. I had to think about how the companies will try to hide any information that could have caused any damage. I had to think about what the records would be called and how they would conceal it. I found out that the gas company was the cause for why the community was starting to get sick. Although the gas company as at fault we may not want to stop using their services, but merely let them know that the practices of their company is hurting our community. I think if we get together and ask the right questions we will be able to figure out a solution for this problem. I’m pretty sure that the gas company doesn’t want to cause anyone any harm, so confronting them and letting them aware of the dangers they are causing should not be an issue. We need to take the cautious approach when trying to decide what action to take. We don’t want to cause any more illness but we also want to make sure that we don’t cause any unnecessary dangers with the solution. We need to figure out what medical procedures need to be done and the correct action to take when dealing with the gas. By doing this it can help make sure that this...

...To whom it may concern, I have after extensive research found that there is a problem in our little community that poses a serious problem for the health and safety of everybody living here. All around me, people ranging from children up to the elderly have been getting sick and everyone has been displaying the same symptoms. Therefore, I started to find out what might be causing this issue. The first thing I did was a survey in the neighborhood of who had symptoms and what the symptoms were. Additionally, I asked them when their symptoms started and what they were doing before the symptoms started. The survey allowed me to see how everyone’s illness connected as everyone displayed the same symptoms and it allowed me to narrow down the possible causes for the illnesses based on what people were doing before getting sick. The next thing I did was take my findings to an expert to see what could cause these symptoms. The expert was able to rule out infection, bacteria, viruses, and point to pollution as the cause for the illnesses. The next thing I did was get a research expert to test many variables of what might have been polluted such as the water, soil, or the plant life. The expert was able to determine that the soil, water, and plant life had all been polluted by gas. I did additional research to find out where the gas was coming from in order to pollute our community. By researching community blue prints and development plans I found out that there are gas lines running...

...Less is more Prof. Sheena Iyengar believes that the need to choose from a variety of similar products leads to customer’s paralysis, in which the majority of customers decide to abandon the purchase. She made some experiment when supermarket offered visitors a taste jam. There were two tables with jam probes: one was presented 24 options, another just 6. A lot more people stayed to try jam, where there were more options, but only 3% of them have bought jam. To the stand with 6 kinds of jam less people came, but 30% of them decided to buy it. Iyengar gives four pieces of advice to avoid the problem of consumer paralysis. First, reduce the range. Paradoxically, this will make the selection process more enjoyable for customers and increase the number of sales. For example, Procter&Gamble Company removed their nine varieties of shampoo and thereby increased the number of sales by 10%. Second, concretization. Customers can not choose from a variety of options, because they do not understand the difference between the products. Third, divide the products into categories, so it would be easier to find and choose. And finally, starting with a less complicated choice. Range of products attractive to the buyer only in theory- in reality it tiring and hinders to make a choice. Any man who has had to watch a woman while choosing clothes from the closet, knows- the more clothes in her closet, the more likely she will say that she has nothing to wear. So as a girl and a customer...

...Randle McMurphy. McMurphy was the protagonist in this book and he was the one who showed the patients the way to rebuff the system, laugh, and defy authority through humor. The patients began to find strength in his leadership. However, McMurphy came to realize that the very people he was defying were the same people who would determine the timeframe of his release from the hospital. When McMurphy decided to play it safe and stop bucking the system, the other patients who looked up to him were very disappointed because they did not have him to support them and they were not strong enough to fight the system alone. I never believed in the philosophy that we are our “brothers’ keeper (28).” But, because everyone relied on McMurphy to stand up and help them fight the horrible...

Take the file with you and meet Jane outside the courtroom. I’ll be there shortly.” Carl meets Jane and they enter the courtroom and sit down. At 9:00 A.M., Attorney Howe hasn’t arrived. The judge enters the courtroom and everyone stands. The judge begins to call cases. Carl wonders what he should do. He watches the attorneys and sees that as each case is called, the attorney either announces that the matter is uncontested, in which case the judge signs the order presented by the attorney, or says “To be heard,” in which case the judge just nods and calls the next case. Carl also notices some very young attorneys who stand up and identify themselves as “so-and-so for Attorney Jones” or “so-and-so for Attorney Smith.” Clearly, they’re appearing on behalf of a senior attorney. Hmmm, thinks Carl. Since our matter is contested, Attorney Howe would simply say, “To be heard.” Finally, the judge calls Jane’s case. Attorney Howe hasn’t arrived. Carl stands up. “Carl Jackson for Attorney Howe. That’s to be heard.” The judge nods and Carl sits down. In a few moments, Attorney Howe arrives.
