...VARK Analysis In order for students to make the most of their learning experience it is important for them to be aware of their preferred learning style. A great tool used in determining learning style preferences is the VARK (visual, audio, read/write, kinesthetic) questionnaire. The VARK learning style assessment was developed by Neil Fleming in 1987. The questionnaire consists of 16 questions with multiple answer options. Respondents are allowed to skip a question or pick multiple answer choices if necessary (Barman, Jaafar, & Rahim, 2009). Those taking the questionnaire find the questions easy to relate to since they are based on real life situations (Rogers, 2009). Once the questionnaire is completed a score will be provided along with the corresponding learning preference and identified learning strategies. It is necessary for students to be aware of their learning style preference and to know the best way to study in order to reach their full learning potential. This paper will discuss the VARK questionnaire results of the author of this paper. After completing the VARK questionnaire, results for this author showed a multimodal learning preference. Those falling into this category have no defined preference. According to the VARK website, “If you have multiple preferences you are in the majority, as approximately 60% of any population fits that category” (http://www.vark-learn.com). This author finds using different combinations of the VARK modes to be most...

...Blue painted ceiling and wasps Kasia Nalbandian American Intercontinental University 3/24/2010 Abstract In this week individual project options are very interesting but unfortunately I have to choose only one option, and I choose the second experiment which is painting the porch ceiling sky blue can keep off wasps or other insects from building their nest or no?, I’m going to talk about my hypothesis and my outcome for the controlled experiment. Blue Painted Ceiling and Wasps Sky blue color paint will helps from keeping away the nests or any wasps and insects. Few years ago South Carolina country use sky blue color which is called (Haint Blue) for their porch ceiling believing sky blue color extend for light and fool the wasps or insects from making their nest, usually insects or wasp don’t build their nest under the sky it’s not a safe place for it, according to (Howard,2014, para 1). Hypothesis My hypothesis is that of course insects won’t make their nest under the sky and they think that it’s not a safe place for their nest, according my research about wasps I find out why beekeepers where white colors, the white color will keep wasps and bees off from you (Ecker, 2013, para 6). I personally believe rate my professor is helpful. I am very familiar with this online service because I used rate my professor when selecting my courses. Personally, I believe any course can be interesting, depending on the professor. The reviews on one of my professors I believe are exactly the things I experienced in most cases. For example, Peers who reviewed my professor said that they gave over five pages of notes every class. I found this to be true from day one. I also agree with the article’s opinion that with amount students pay leads to the need for...

...When reading “Science of Memory-for studying and for life”, this made me think of different methods I use that are helpful to me when I need to study new material. The article talks about a process with 4 different steps organizing, encoding, rehearsing, and retrieving. I do not use all 4 but all could be helpful when learning. Organization is the first step I use to memorize any new material. Notes will not help anymore if they are poorly written on not well organized. You should arrange material so it’s easy for you to review and understand it. Experimenting with different organizational techniques will also help you find an approach that is helpful to you. Encoding is another helpful step of the process. To help your memory process try to pay attention to one thing, do not split your attention with different issues. Talk about key information that needs to be remembered. When you process the information think about it and truly process it, use mental pictures if possible to “double-encode” the information. Next is rehearsing this is the step I mostly use. Some people find it helpful to rewrite notes as a form of rehearsing. I personally take flash cards and put key information on them I’m not too sure about and study from them. Study groups can also help people rehearse, just seeing how someone else interrupted the learning material. When reading the material ask yourself questions, “what did I just read”, “what does this mean”, also test yourself on the information you...

...(1996): 163-74. JSTOR. Web. 2 December 2013. This article interpreted the metaphors in Hamlet. The main focus was on the Cup of Sovereignty, which is the metaphor for the cup King Claudius drinks from during the marriage proposal. Even though I read information from this source I am not going to use this because it does not relate to my thesis. However, it does explain the significance of the cup referencing to corruption and the poisons that ruined many lives. This article helped me understand the symbolism of deception in William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” Barron’s. Hamlet. New York: Barron’s Educational Series, 2002. Print This book contains the Shakespeare’s play Hamlet and a modern interpretation of the script. This source was used to read the play and fully understand exactly what action was taking place. I am not using this book to quote any material because it is a form of cliff notes; however it was helpful in interpreting scenes and breaking down Elizabethan sentences. Boyd, Brian. “Literature and Evolution: A Bio-Cultural Approach.” The Johns Hopkins UP 29.1 (2005): 1- 23. JSTOR. Web. 4 December 2013. This article is about the “sophisticated concealment and deception” Shakespeare incorporated in Hamlet (Boyd 16). I am using this source because it relates to my thesis. It explains how Shakespeare uses deception to exaggerate life-and-death issues. This was helpful because it analyzed the deception within Hamlet and how Shakespeare used counter-deception to prevent predictability...

...The feedback on the bottom of page 44, was the most effective. Why was it effective? Because it gives more important feedback or information. These ideas can be more helpful to make the writers paper better. By adding some of these ideas, it will make the writer’s paper more interesting to the readers. Also adding some credible sources is very important for the writer. The first reviewer response was unclear to the writer. The reviewer needed to make the feedback stronger and better. But the feedback that the reviewer gave did not give any information on how to make the writers paper better. The second reviewer was being nice and respectful to the writer. The reviewer said how nice and well thought out before writing the paper. The writer’s paper was well organized. The reviewer gave good feedback. Reviewer three just said it was good liked the way it was written. Why? It gave what the reader liked. But it did not give any feedback. It also did not give any information to make the paper better. Reviewer four response was not what the writer wanted to hear. The feedback gave no ideas on how to improve the paper. There were no comments about the examples or experience. The feedback just said “So true good job!” It did not tell what part was good. The fifth reviewer gave a very good feedback. The feedback was also helpful to the writer. The reviewer gave ideas and very helpful information to the writer. All the information given, will help the writer to improve his or her paper...

...treatments for CHF. I think WebMD is a great source for information because, it breaks down the specific disease and explains it in everyday terms. I think that is important for people to really understand what they are dealing with. I think this Webpage would be extremely helpful to anyone just diagnosed or who has been living with the disease of CHF. Huntington, M., Guzman, A., Roemen, A., Fieldsend, J., & Soloum, H. (2013). Hospital-to-Home: A hospital readmission reduction program for congestive heart failure.. South Dakota Medicine: The Journal of the South Dakota State Medical Association, 66(9), 370-373. This article shows how important, cost wise most importantly, it is to make sure patients with CHF are not readmitted so soon after they are released from their previous hospital stay for the disease. It shows how important it is to stay informed and not to go back to your old habits after your release from a hospital stay. I think the fact that they used follow up home visits after a patients release was key in this study. The fact that they did this study over a year is a good indication that their results are factual. I think any less they would be obsolete. I think this particular article was very informative, not only because of the outcome of how after hospital release care is, but because of the cost of each CHF patient admitted into the hospital. I think in numbers alone this...

The text evidence for this is “So with Leon sitting on a boulder at the edge of the shrunken river, Amyntas set to work with ruthless thoroughness to clean the cut” (p.718). This text proves how he’s helpful because he was helping his friend stay free from infection from his cut even though Leon didn’t care. This is one of the things that proves he is fair also because Leon is his hardest competitor but he still helped him even though if his foot got infected he would have to drop out of the race.
