Selecting a tiny house can be a difficult decision, I want to consider having a nice fit kitchen, an individual bathroom, storage to fit my personal girly products, and a bedroom to fit a queen mattress. I had to get myself a tiny house because of my work, and wanted to have the place all to myself. I am a nurse who travels around the world, trying to save other people’s lives. I have a total amount $15,000 dollars, but I may have to go over that budget, because some houses may be over or less than what I have. I want to have a house that I can tow by myself and not having to pay $25 hundred, to have someone else tow it for me all the time. I will miss my parents but i’m glad to have a home all to myself.

House 1
As I am walking to the first house, I can see some dislikes from the outside of the house, the price of this house is $18,500, which is a little out of my budget . What I like about this house is that the ceilings are high enough to put big paintings, there is enough storage to store products, I love that the house has stairs with drawers in them or empty spaces to store clothes, regular furniture fits like couches etc, the house also comes with an rolling island to the kitchen, and it has its really …show more content…
The reason I want house number 3 is that it is really spacious for me, it has storage in the bathroom for my girly products. This house is a little off my budget but it’s necessary having the perfect house just for me, I will need someone to help me tow it for me. What I love about this house is that it’s not too big nor too small, it’s just the perfect house. The queen mattress barely fits, even though my bathroom door is not a door it’s a sliding door I can try to decorate it, like a normal door. I also like that the shower is very big, it can fit at least two people in that shower, and those are the reasons why I chose the 3rd

How Does Ebenezer Scrooge Change In A Christmas Carol

...Character Analysis Essay for Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol "Greed, Ebenezer Scrooge, wealth. Feel them. Know them. Yours was as heavy as this I wear seven years ago, and you have labored to build it since," wailed Jacob Marley in Frederick Gaines's adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol (396). Burdened by his greedy life, Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge's deceased business partner, is forced to wander the spirit world with no sense of peace. He warns Scrooge to change his selfish ways to avoid the same miserable fate. Marley's ominous warning sets in motion three life-altering journey through time for Scrooge with the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet To Come. Ebenezer Scrooge, originally a greedy and heartless character, changes drastically after his ghostly experiences influence him to become a generous and caring man by the end of the story. In Scene I of "A Christmas Carol", Scrooge is a bitter and self-centered man. For instance, Scrooge's own nephew, Fred, asked Scrooge if he would join Fred and his family for dinner. Scrooge coldly denied Fred's invitation by saying "Nephew, keep Christmas in your own way…"(390)....

On Vermeer in Bosnia

...Ellie Austin 0536816 # 6 Dear Lawrence Weschler, Your essay, Vermeer in Bosnia, I have found to be fascinating. Recently, while at the Frick Collection, I had taken yet another look at Vermeer and found myself viewing the paintings in the light of Vermeer in Bosnia. The Europe of Vermeer’s youth was as scarred, scary and violent as Bosnia during the Balkan war. There is a strikingly unexpected connection between the high art and the horrors of war crimes. I can certainly relate to the ideas and experiences of Vermeer in Bosnia. In the 1990s, I had worked in various war zones, including Bosnia, first as a media stringer, later as a security contractor. When I realized that the toxic environment was becoming addictive, a distraction and a substitute for something else, a normal way of life, perhaps, and after getting into a serious legal trouble in Saudi Arabia, I had quit working the hot spots for good, as I then thought. On September 11, 2001, a warm sunny day, when I was at all looking for trouble, all the troubles had found me at the World Trade Center, of all places. My last brush with a dangerous adventure had come at on the New Year Eve of 2003, outside the restaurant Nabil in Karrada, an upscale restaurant in Iraq. I was watching the perimeter as a security contractor, when the restaurant bas car-bombed with high explosives, destroying two square blocks of buildings and killing or injuring everyone within the...

Genki Living

...[pic] Place that I feel comfortable. Crystal Kim Ethan Johnson Writing Studio: Intensive 02/ 18/ 09 On February 6th, I decided to go to a Japanese Café called Genki Living. I woke up late and did not feel like eating a lot, so I got ready to go to Genki living. The Café is about 8 minutes away from my house. It was kind of cold when I came out from my house, so I went back home and grabbed my purple jacket. It was around 7:30 at night when I came out from house and got into my car. As I turned my car on, I heard a song called ‘Take a bow’ by Rihanna. I started singing along to the song and started heading towards the café. I asked one of my friends to meet me there. As I drove along the Michillinda Street I passed by a few cars and met up with Huntington drive. I stopped on the red light and was thinking about what to get when I got to Genki living. After I stopped at a red light I turned right onto Baldwin Street. As I got onto Baldwin Street I passed through so many bright vivid lights of many restaurants. After passing by the bright beam lights of the cars I got to small plaza. I crammed my car into a small parking space and got off from the car. When I got out from car I was welcomed with a bright red, white, and green neon sign. There are many restaurants surrounding the cafe. Few Chinese restaurants and yogurt shops are surrounding the Genki living. As I got to the entrance and through the glass walls I found my friend sitting under a tree that is inside the café...

One Two Three

...I figured the message might be a last-minute cancellation. But it was my husband, calling from his home office. His voice was breathless and ragged, and his words stopped my heart. "Susan—this is an emergency! Call me back immediately!" The level of pain in his voice could mean only one thing: Something had happened to one of our sons. In the seconds that passed as I picked up the phone and dialed our house, panic swelled within me; it felt as though millions of tiny needles were pricking my skin. My heart pounded in my ears. My hands began shaking. I tried to orient myself. One of my boys was at school and the other was at work. It was the lunch hour. Had there been a car accident? When my husband picked up the phone, he shouted, "Listen to the television!"—then held out the receiver so I could hear. I couldn't understand the words being broadcast, but the fact that whatever had happened was big enough to be on TV filled me with terror. Were we at war? Was our country under nuclear attack? "What's happening?" I shrieked. He came back on the line and poured out what he'd just learned during a distraught call from a close friend of our 17-year-old son, Dylan: There was some kind of shooting at the high school…gunmen in black trenchcoats were firing at people…the friend knew all the kids who wore trenchcoats, and all were accounted for except Dylan and his friend Eric…and Dylan and Eric hadn't been in class that morning…and no one knew where they were. Analysis of the Welcome Table

...“The Gift of the Magi” – Deciphering the Theme Scott Cole ENG 125 Introduction to Literature Professor Patricia Vineski 6 Oct 2013 The theme of a story, as I’ve learned, is much more than what happened; this is the plot. Instead, the theme is much more; it “tells you what the story is about” (Clugston, 2010, para. 7.1). In order to decipher what the theme is, our text tells us to ask the question “how” a few different ways in order to come to a final conclusion. “How does the writer use setting to narrow the underlying idea? How do characters make particular aspects of the underlying idea clear? How does conflict reveal the strength or worth of the underlying idea?” (Clugston, 2010, para. 7.1). So, throughout this essay, I will be asking these questions, in order to come to a final conclusion as to what the theme of “The Gift of the Magi” really is. I will also discuss the plot, as well as some symbolism in the story that expands on the theme of the story. The plot, for The Gift of the Magi, is a short story about a couple, housed in a tiny apartment, living paycheck to paycheck. Christmas is just a few days away, and the Della, whom is the wife in the story, is struggling to find the perfect gift for her husband. Finally, after searching all over town, she comes across a fancy watch chain that is $20, and decides she must have it; the dilemma is she only has $1.87 to spend. After careful thought, she decides she will cut off her long, beautiful hair...

Home

...October 2, 2014 Bethany Quest III First Essay What is Home? The definition of home is the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household or an institution for people needing professional care or supervision. This definition describes home in the most basic form that truly has no other meaning. The first definition does not take into account the millions of people who possibly do not have a permanent residence or who has no family. It seems to suggest home is a place without personal value; well I think that the term home has a considerably large amount of personal significance that give it a different definition depending on each individual. Home is a place that one would want to go to. “I just want to go home”, clearly indicates a want to go to a certain place. This goes back into the notion that home does not specifically have to be a house. There are plenty of people who feel at home in places that are nowhere close to a permanent residence. There are some people who live in the city, but feel like they are at home when they visit the mountain side. To feel at home, I think, constitutes being at home no matter where it may be. It is a place where people can be content or possibly happy. Home is a place where one could live according to who they feel that they are. Home is a place of expression. It may seem like this is only true for those who own their own house and can decorate it according to their personal...

What Does the Architecture of Lord Burlington Owe to Political Concerns

...What does the architecture of Lord Burlington owe to political concerns? It is said that from 1721 onwards Lord Burlington began erecting one important building after another. In order to determine what the architecture of Lord Burlington owes to political concerns it is necessary to briefly examine both the political situation in the early 1700s and Burlington’s political stance. Lastly, in order to draw a conclusion as to how much of Lord Burlington’s architecture owes to political concerns, an analysis of Chiswick House and its political representation is particularly essential. Thus this essay will be roughly divided into two parts: the first being a brief narrative of the political life and situation of Lord Burlington, followed by a system of analysis and conclusion. The latter will focus specifically on the Chiswick House and what symbols there exist that may help us to examine the impact of politics on Lord Burlington’s architecture. Lord Burlington, though being a man of arts and beauty, was hardly politically inactive. Up until 1932 he was said to have been a supporter of the Whig administration. He became a supporter of the new Hanoverian king, George I in 1715 and that same year he was appointed Lord Treasurer of Ireland, lieutenant of the East and West Ridings of Yorkshire and Vice-Admiral of the County of York. By 1721 Burlington became a supporter of Sir Robert Walpole and was a close friend of the Prince of Wales. When in 1727 the Prince succeeded as George...

Life

...Do we hav freedom ? * You could say that there is more Freedom of speech, because in the US you can say ANYTHING while in many European countries hate speech is forbidden. That's a question of personal opinion, personally I prefer when hate speech is forbidden, I don't think Freedom of speech's role is to protect racist/xenophobic/homophobic pigs. Americans also have the "freedom" to own guns (though it isn't completely forbidden in other Western countries, just less easy), but this "freedom" is considered barbaric in most of the Western world and is even seen as a threat towards the freedom of others. The fact that it leads to high crime rates doesn't help. For some reason, Americans often seem to associate "Freedom" with guns and most Westerners don't understand that. Freedom of Religion is VERY different among "free" countries. Issues linked to Religion are also treated very differently. "Red Rover", the American Bill of Rights is far, really far from being alone. For example, the slightly older French "Universal Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen" is generally considered as the reference for Human Rights. As for the religious aspect of the American Bill or Rights, claiming it's a good thing is a matter of personnal opinion. That and its lack of universalism (it's only about American citizens) are probably the reason the "French" Bill of Rights is considered the reference. You (like other answerers) also seem to think that Democracy (and...

What Are the Consequences of Conflict in Act 3 Scene 1

...Romeo’s reaction to this is that he thinks that is the end of the world as he will never be able to see Juliet, his one true love, and the recently married couple will have a very distant relationship. So throughout this essay I will discuss what the consequences of conflict are in Act 3 Scene 1. The atmosphere at the beginning of the scene is quite happy and jolly but Benvolio is worried that there may be a meeting of Capulet’s and Montague’s following the challenge sent by Tybalt to Romeo. ‘By my heel, I care not.’ This shows us that Mercutio doesn’t care if the Capulet’s are hear or not as he is ready to and in a happy mood which is expressed through the use of the word ‘care’. Making us as an audience feel protected and appreciated because Tybalt has challenged Romeo to a duel but due to Mercutio’s arrogance we know that Romeo and us will be protected and care for by Mercutio if Tybalt is beating and nearly killing Romeo in this fight. How does Tybalt react to Romeo’s offer of peace? Describe Tybalt’s mood as the scene develops. How does Mercutio react to Tybalt’s attack on Romeo? Mercutio curses both the Montague’s and Capulet’s when he is about to die as he was only trying to protect his friend and got killed in doing so. ‘A plague a both houses’. When Mercutio uses the word ‘plague’ we as an audience associate it as an ugly noun causing pain, suffering and death but it shows us the horrors of this feud between these two families and...

On Pale Green Walls

...On Pale Green Walls English Essay Every action we do often has a deeper meaning. If we hit someone, it is most likely because we are mad at them. If we kiss someone, it is maybe an act of love, or just physical attraction. When children do something, it is noticed very by the world around, because it might say something about the development of their personality and who they will grow up to be. They act on their feelings, emotions and thoughts. On Pale Green Walls is a short story written by Clare Wigfall in 2007. The short story takes place around christmas time in an unknown city, where a little girl named violet lives with her family. I believe the main themes in this short story to be: love, hate, jealousy, acceptance, fascination and despair. We are through the text following the life of Violet and her first meeting and impression of one specific woman. “I remember the first time i saw her. […] She stood higher than the rest of us, surrounded be candles”. In this quotation Violets first meeting with the women is described, but also the fact that it is no ordinary woman. The little girl has gotten a fascination of the Virgin Mary. The first glance she laid on her was probably a statue standing in the city to celebrate christmas. She is after this moment upsets with the Virgin Mary, and notices her everywhere she goes. It is in the following quotation told, that the are pictures of the virgin many places that she’s been before, for example and described...

Sherman Alexie's Superman And Me

...Is a life lost when kept within boundaries? For Sherman Alexie the answer is yes. He is a Spokane Indian and also a prominent writer. He is the author of “Superman and Me” a short essay first published in Los Angeles Times, April 19 1998, as part of the series “The Joy of Reading and Writing”. In this piece Alexie describes how he taught himself how to read at the age of three and how he manage to literally read his way out of the reservation in which he grew up. By narrating his own story, he illustrates how few were the chances for him as well as for all young Indians in a reservation to succeed in life, not only because of poverty or because of the limited school system, but more precisely because of the mental barriers Indians have imposed themselves when exposed to the challenges of the Non-Indian society. In contrast to this panorama, and against all statistics and predictions, Alexie succeeded...

Comparing Indian Education 'And Thank You Ma' Am, By Langston Hughes

...Compare and Contrast Essay on Short Stories Dragons, witches, princesses and knights. These are the imaginary friends in so many children's lives. For young adults, those fairy tail characters give way to darker characters and more realistic situations. However, what do they all have in common? They live in short stories. Two short stories that are interesting are "Indian Education" by Sherman Alexie and "Thank you Ma'am" by Langston Hughes. "Indian Education" is about a boy who learned a lot from everything that happened in his life. "Thank you Ma'am" is about a boy who makes a mistake and in the end he learns from it. While there are some obvious similarities, both authors approach these stories, specifically the characters, tone and point of view, in different ways. The main characters of both stories are similar because they both brave. When the Indian boy was in the first grade, he punched a kid in the face for being mean to him. "Held his head against the snow, and punched him." The Indian boy was only in the first grade and he punched someone. He was standing up for himself. Also, when the Indian boy was in the fifth grade, he started playing basketball. "I picked up the basketball for the first...
