The person I have selected is George Washington first president of the united states. My paper will be about his life and what he accomplished during his presidency.
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. He Married Martha Dandridge
Custis on January 6, 1756. Martha Was a widow with 2 children, he had no children of his own so he later adopted martha’s 2 children. Washington was born and raised in westmoreland county virginia. Growing up Washington was a planter and a soldier. He had no formal education and he was taught by his family and tutors, and he did not go to college. In 1752 Washington inherited Mount Vernon estate.

He ran for president against John Adams. He was the only president who didn’t live in Washington D.C. during his presidency. He was president from April 30,1789 to 1796. Washington Was President for 8 years which is two terms. It was because of George Washington that most presidents only served two terms until Franklin D. Roosevelt served 4 terms.
George Washington set many examples for future presidents. Some of which includes the election and a 2 term presidency, he also established the cabinet, he supported new ideas such as the bank of america which would later be adopted as the nations bank. Washington was well known for being the very first president of the United States of America.
Washington was a good president for many reasons such as he always put the country first instead of himself , he took charge of the army to keep the nation standing, he led americans through the struggles to independence and freedom and helped create a new nation.
