They started WWP because they wanted to make other people aware of the vertarines and how they wanted to restore the wounded warriors to their former self and help them so they can walk and use the parts they lost with artificial body parts. The wounded warriors project help people who were in the Army, Navy and those types of programs but they help the ones who have been injured in a war and are pretty much crippled. However, it can affect anyone who has had a major trauma in their lives. These can include but are not limited to auto accidents, rape, child and/or spousal abuse as well as other traumatic cases. The Wounded Warriors Project is a service that offers assistance to those returning from war that have lost limbs, vision, and those with PTSD to accept what has caused them to be or act crazy when they see or hear certain sounds. One of these sounds that can affect the soldier is the sound of fireworks. However, watching movies about war can also trigger that feeling of being there fighting with them. PTSD is categorized into four types: intrusive memories, avoidance, negative changes in thinking and mood, or changes in emotional reactions. The symptoms of PTSD can start as early as 1 day up to three months of the traumatic event. However, there are those who do not show signs of PTSD for many years. The symptoms may not appear until work or social situations cause the client to see the problem. Intrusive memories are mainly unwanted recurrent memories. This can make the client relive or have flashbacks on what caused the trauma. With this in mind, many family members find themselves walking on egg shells to avoid triggering an episode. In 1998, Steve Mann gave a keynote address at the International Conference on Wearable Computing in which he explained the operational modes of wearable computers and six defining traits of a true wearable computer. According to Mr. Mann, the wearable computer creates three new modes of interaction between human and computer which have not existed before. These three new modes of operation are Constancy, Augmentation, and Mediation (Mann, 1998). People’s comments about the film ranged from praise for its groundbreaking 3D animation; to criticism of its racist portrayal of the indigenous; to disappointment with the overly predictable storytelling; to appreciation for its critique of colonization and civilization. I even heard complaints from fellow peace church Mennonites about its overwhelming use of redemptive violence. After seeing the film through my Christian anti-civilization (anti-civ) anarchist vegan antiracist woman of color lenses, my sense is that Avatar is more complex than many of its detractors or advocates acknowledge.
