At age nine, I left San Diego to move to Sacramento because my grandmother was ill and couldn't take care of the house by herself. I became less confident and more isolated. I was sad for my grandma and hurt One day in the schoolyard, while I was playing 4 square alone. My sister came and grabbed the ball and held me and said its going to be alright. we had no problem communicating through gestures and expressions. We soon realized that we had different ways of playing 4 square. I watched her way and she watched mine; presently we came up with a brand new version of the game. Others soon joined us, and I found myself playing and laughing with kids whom I had thought I had nothing in common with. I have learned so much from, but most of all I learned. Over the years, I have tried to live by this rule, and, as a result, have enjoyed many memorable and enriching relationships which have contributed to my desire to work with others in the practice of medicine.

One such relationship is with my dad. Our relationship began his person has always been in my life, from the day I first opened my eyes to the present moment. This person is a teacher, a guide, and a source of strength and support. He is whom I look up to with loving trust and pride. With a willing hand to lend, he is a helper, an adviser and my partner in crime. He showed me the stars and taught me how to reach them. This person means the world to me, so who is this influential person in my life? He is my father. He always liked to talk to people and always took care of business. I always bring a smile to people's faces or they took it wrong and were mad at me. I loved to get money from him and my mom and cherished it. This meant something to me I wanted to make a living off this so I could laugh and make money with the people that are my customers to keep them coming back as a small business owner. I know that if sports fail or my career declines I have to have something to fall back on or do that I love. I grew for this at the barbershop to listening to the stories and them making the whole shop laugh I was amazed and the owner walking in and getting the customers and making their day.

My desire to interact with people and understand their experiences and ideas actually stemmed from my early childhood exposures to people in a hospital setting. As I was growing up, my parents, both dedicated physicians, often took me to the hospital with them. Since I spent most of my time tagging along with my parent or the nurses, I had the opportunity to interact with many patients. All the different kinds of people fascinated me and I was curious to know who the patients were, what was wrong with them, and how they were being treated and cured. I always had a million questions to ask, and this desire to learn more about people and business has only increased over the years.
