Healthcare costs have continued to rise, insurance premiums have increased, and there are still millions of uninsured or underinsured Americans. However there are some notable changes that have occurred in recent years. For one, a relatively small number of Americans that did not have health insurance are now insured. Many ACA advocates, including the President, argue that the decrease in the number of uninsured is a clear sign that the plan is working. And yet, we should expect these numbers to drop as it is now required by law to purchase insurance; therefore, this measure does not translate to marked improvement. Secondly, the entire healthcare sector is consolidating in response to the new law. This is an unseen (for some) consequence of the legislation that has greatly reduced competition in the sector. Brief explanation This is one of the famous poems from Tang dynasty. A poem related to Mid-autumn festival. This is a very famous one, written also by a very famous poet, Li Bai, who can even write excellent poems whilst he is drunk. This poem was also the first Chinese literature I learned. It is a story about how Li Bai misses his hometown while he was travelling all over the countryfar from his hometown. Deciphering with my words As you can see in above story, he saw a moonlight passing through and turn the ground in front of his bed to look like it was frozen. The impression that I got here is he feels lonely and sad. He filled the first 2 lines with sad vibes. Talking about moon and how its light make the ground seems frozen. Frozen has long be related with cold and sad feeling, like you lost something, I knew this from my experience as I once wrote my own poem. Later, he looks to the night sky to gaze over the moon. Here the impression I got...

...The movie Expendables was a box office smash that came out in 2010. It is about a group of men that are mercenaries that take a job to stop a dictator in another country. It is full of action and even has some humor to it that makes the movie even more pleasurable. One example would be one of the characters that is played by Jet Li. He is way smaller person than all of his counter parts and is always trying to challenge them. Even though he is way smaller than them he does keep up with them and that makes it funny, especially when he starts saying funny remarks. It also has some struggles in the movie that reflect what everybody goes through sometimes in their lives which makes it easier for the audience to relate. The main character in this movie is Sylvester Stallone which is the leader of the mercenaries and is one of the most level headed characters throughout the movie. He ends up seeing this woman played by Gisele Itie and he starts falling for her while still trying to do the right thing. Once the other mercenaries find out about his feelings towards the woman they start to think that he may be making mistakes. Even though this movie is action packed it still shows people that even the toughest person in the world can be loving and kind and that we are all humans that have feelings after all. This movie is a bit graphic so if you have a weak stomach than this is not the movie for you. Another thing that made this movie such a box office smash was the fact that it had a...

...Under “Western Eyes”: The Personal Odyssey of Huang Fei-Hong in Once upon a Time in China by Tony Williams Rather than being read in exclusively postmodernist terms, Tsui Hark’s series Once upon a Time in China may be understood as a new version of a Hong Kong cinematic discourse involving historical “interflow.” It deals with dispersion, China’s relationship to the outside world, and strategic forms of reintegration designed to strengthen national identity. In Sammo Hung’s Wong Fei Hung Ji Saam (West Territory Mighty Lion/Once upon a Time in China and America, 1997), Master Huang Fei-hong (Jet Li Linjie) travels to the Wild West to visit an American branch of the Po Chi Lam Clinic set up by his student Sol. During the journey, he bangs his head against a rock in a turbulent stream and loses his memory. He is rescued by a friendly tribe of Indians. Moments before we see Huang again, an Indian emerges from a tepee proudly announcing the birth of a child. When Huang recovers, he stumbles around in the Indian camp wearing an Indian costume, and his loose unbraided hair is flowing like an Indian’s. After using his martial arts prowess to defeat a hostile Indian, who ironically mouths racist American platitudes against the outsider—”His clothing is different, his skin color is different, his speech is different”—Huang is adopted into the tribe and given the name “Yellow.” Before this, he attempts to remember events of the recent past. But his vague recollections...

...in flashbacks where nameless and the king of Qin are conversing at the palace. Hero is filming that entirely depicts the ancient Chinese culture and uses visual designs in a relevant way. The film uses the fascist aesthetics that represents authoritarianism. The film represents the Chinese culture in a number of ways. It does not concentrate on the multiculturalism as other Chinese films could do. First, the movie shows the Chinese culture in the form of leadership. At the beginning of the film, the narrator tells of ancient China being a kingdom ruled by kings, and initially it was made up of seven kingdoms. The film also shows the ancient Chinese leadership to have had many wars. It was during this wars that the parents of nameless (jet li) were killed making him come for revenge in the palace. The evidence is when the king asks nameless why he had the plot to kill him. It is after he had realised that nameless had not for sure killed sky and broken sword, as he had narrated to the king in order to secure his trust. The film shows the power of politics in a kingdom as part of the culture. As depicted in the movie, the people have influence to the ruler. When nameless does not kill the king, the people and the...

...2012 Liang, Marier, and Cui 55 S Y East Meets West P O S I U Strategic Human Resource Management in China: by Xiaoya Liang, Janet H. Marier, and Zhiyu Cui Executive Overview This paper outlines important ideological, institutional, and cultural contexts that shape what strategic human resource management practices are possible in Ghina. A detailed review of the main components of the high-performance work systems model suggests that when they are introduced into the Ghinese socioeconomic and political context, the cost-benefit calculus for high-performance work system human resource management practices is different from that in the U.S. context. Yet, in our review of Ghina-based strategic human resource management research we find the expected positive relationship between high-performance work systems and organizational performance in companies operating in Ghina. We conclude with a case example to illustrate how Ghinese firms might be both adopting and adapting the high-performance work system model to better fit their current cultural and economic context. T he Study of strategic human resource management (SHRM) emerged out of researchers' interests in understanding the relationship between human resource management and organizational performance (Delery & Doty, 1996; Kaufman, 2007). Since the late 1980s, most research evidence in this vein has been collected from firms located in the United States (see Combs, Liu, Hall, &. Ketchen, 2006; Huselid...
