Scott Fitzgerald claimed that it is “… the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.” On analysis, one can see that this quote is rather flawed and that there is in fact a lot of evidence to support the opposition.
