One expectation is to follow directions. When a teacher tells a student to have a seat or get in line, it is expected for them to do what they are told. Teachers should never place difficult expectation on younger children. You can’t expect children who are 7 or 8 to understand like children who are in their teens. Another expectation would be to use your inside voice or remain quiet when a lesson is being taught. Respect others is also an expectation. At any age learning to respect others and be friendly is important. The basic skills that every child should learn are to follow basic instructions. This is within the critical age that child are trying to figure out who they are. Teachers will have to help guide them and be there if they need help because in some cases the child will trust the teacher more than their own parent. I believe that Ron’s behavior has a lot to do with a new environment. Anytime there is a new environment children will explore and see what they can and cannot do. He was around new children that he didn’t know and he was trying to stand out.
