...2012 Angel Bio My name is Kristofer Spoto I am 20 years old, and my course of study is psychology. I find the subject very interesting, and informative. I chose psychology as my major because I want to know what makes people act the way they do, and learn more about psychological disorders. In addition to that, I have psychological disorders; I am bipolar and have ADD. Also, my brother suffers from Aspberger’s Syndrome, a high functioning form of autism, ADHD, and bipolar. The disorders were genetically inherited by our father; who passed away when I was 12 years old. So going into this career field will help me better understand others, my brother, and myself. I took General Psychology 101 last semester and it was so intriguing that I wanted to learn more, so I enrolled in Psychology of Adjustment. I am also taking General Psychology 102 this semester. When I am not at SUNY Orange I am working in an auto part warehouse named GWC Distributors. I used to be a manager at Burger King, but left due to the physical and mental stress it caused me. When I am not at school or working I like to spend time with my girlfriend. It is her first semester at SUNY New Paltz, so I go up to visit her every few days; I also plan on transferring to New Paltz next fall; I hope to get into the psychology program there. I am not passionate about much; however, I am a big fan of Star Wars, and I have been since I was very young. Some other random facts about myself; I am from an Italian...

...PROSSIONAL PRESENCE AND INFLUCENCE Differences of models of health and healing: Body-Mind-Spirit/Bio-psycho-social Model Religion and spirituality are components of any cultural system which is difficult to clearly separate culture form religion and spirituality as it is practiced in everyday life. For some it is like the air they breathe while others profess no real sense of religion or spirituality in their lives. Religious and spiritual beliefs are often part of concepts related to etiology, treatment and prevention of ill health. The relationship between spirituality, religion, healing, and healers was very close. It is like a process of reconciliation led by popular demand rather than by either the religious or medical fields. This model discuss about the relationship between spirituality, religion and health that has grown enormously over the last several decades, and has gain more interest among health and mental health professionals. Religion and spirituality can play a role in how an individual child or adult copes with being sick, may influence medical decisions that are made, and may have an impact on the medical outcome. The bio-psycho-social model of medicine, is a way of looking at the mind and body of a patient as two important systems that are interlinked and it is like a mind-body connection. This is in contrast to the traditional biomedical model of medicine. This model treats the biological, psychological and social issues as systems of the body...

...of health and healing for the the human body. All three are useful in the nursing practice to assist patients in the healing process. There is physical-body, body-mind-spirit/bio-psycho-social. Of all the three there two I favor, body-mind and body-mind-spirit/bio-psycho-social. They hope for the same outcome, a better patient, but have different style of approaches. Body-mind is one of the oldest health and healing models and originated from ancient healing practice such as Traditional chinese medicine. Nursing that promotes body-mind healing relies on strategies that soothe and relax the mind and body such as yoga, visual imagery, biofeedback and meditation to alleviate pain and stress while preventing infections by boosting immunity (Mind-Body Medicine, 2016). Being an avid yoga participant I know personally the benefits of mind-body health and healing. This model started becoming widely popular in the 1950’s and focuses on a person’s own ability to heal through becoming aware of their own feelings and beliefs (Koerner, J. 2016). This gives the patient the ability to participate in their own healing process. It empowers the patient by putting the ability to control stress, pain, etc through processes without relying on medicine or other health technology and professionals. Body-mind-spirit/bio-psycho-social health and healing model treats the entire patient. Its focus encompassess gentics, behavior and culture when approaching assisting in the healing process ( Biopsychosocial...

...Unit 3 Assignment 1: Video Summary 1 * CPU: The central Processing Unit (CPU) is the main processing unit of the personal computer (PC). It has an integral relationship with the motherboard and the system memory. These three devices control the data-processing aspect of the PC. Drives handle data storage, and input/output (IO) interfaces allow human interaction, communications with peripherals, and network communication. * Clock Rate: The actual speed of the (CPU) is governed by a BIOS setting called the clock rate. CPUs run in a range of speeds, not just one specific speed. Increasing the CPU is called over-clocking. It improves performance, but it comes at a cost. The faster the CPU runs, the hotter it gets. If it gets too hot, the BIOS shuts down the CPU. * CPU Interfaces and Sock Types * Chipset help direct and process data and commands for the CPU. * Sockets allow the CPU to connect to the Computer. * The motherboard provides power to the CPU. * It measure the temperature and controls fans to cool the CPU. * The motherboard shuts down the PC it the CPU is too hot to prevent damage. * System Memory: There are two major types of memory: dynamic and static. Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) loses information in the absence of power. Static Ram (SRAM retains its data like a hard drive regardless of power state. In general, DRAM is used as system memory, and SRAM is used for cache and storage devices. * SDRAM: is neither a contradiction...

...I moved to Greenwich and married my lady, Maria Elena Santiago, who I proposed to on our first date.("Buddy Holly" Bio) Because of legal problems and financial problems I had to suffer through during my band's breakup, I decided to go on tour with the Winter Dance Party to get more cash. It consisted of me, and Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper, both of which were famous rock and roll artists like myself. We got tired of the conditions we had to brace and decided to charter a plane to take us home.("Buddy Holly" Bio) A member of my band gave up his seat so Ritchie Valens could get aboard because he was suffering a cold. Just minutes after the plane went up, we all went back down. The impact from the crash killed all four of us, the pilot, Ritchie, Bopper, and me. Folks nowadays are referring to it as the day music died. But really, all it did was leave a grand legacy for other rockers to follow. My instruments may be dead, but my music shall forever live on in the hearts of...

My name is Stephanie Tetting Director of Safety and Efficiency for G-Bio Sports. In this dilemma there are two employees Jamal Moore and Aaron Webb that are involved in this situation. Both of these individuals could potentially cause great harm to the company and the IT system; Aaron was able to leak information that is confidential to the company from Aaron’s home computer. Jamal, a G-Bio Sport IT technician located the leak by hacking into Aarons’ personal computer seeing his personal business. Jamal and Aaron are both good employees and considered an asset to the company; it is now my responsibility to deal with both of these employees by reaching a decision on how to handle this dilemma. First I need to consider who is directly involved by my decision, those who will be affected are: Board of Directors, Human Resources, and the two employees. Company policy must be followed accordingly to ensure my position within the company is not jeopardized. Aaron Webber felt he was not in the wrong, since he felt he had the right to free expression. What he did not realize was that...

...Ethics Game Simulation University of Phoenix MGT 216 November 7, 2010 G-Bio Sport’s Game Simulation Today I had the opportunity to experience the interactions of ethics and problematic dilemmas facing an organization through a game simulation. The simulation placed the role of quality control manager (QCM) as my title within an organization called “G-Bio Sport’s.” Additionally, I was tasked with two dilemmas involving ethical issues, and the various ethical perspectives that were used in my analysis and decision making to resolve the dilemmas. This journal will reflect the issues, steps, ethical perspective used to base decision on and influence it played, as well as the correlation of various concepts within the simulation with my workplace. Ethical Dilemma Issue (The Case of Fair Warning) In the first dilemma products contaminated with high levels of GBS-Fibranafren, one of G-Bio Sport’s patented ingredients, which over two-thirds of the company’s products contain where found to have slipped through quality control. The dilemma provoked an issue of what the best decision would be to initiate a resolution to the issue. The company concluded that in healthy adults there was extremely low risk, though those with low immune systems would be at a higher risk, this with repeated use. Decision Making Steps In coming to an ethical decision or basis, I first identified the issues (whether or not to recall, disseminate the information, refund or...

...YOT2 PROF. PRESENCE AND INFLUENCE (GRAD 0714) A. Professional Presence: 1)Era I (Physical Body) is based mainly on the physical aspect of health such as “surgery and drugs”. “The mind of consciousness is equated with functioning”, Whereas Era III(bio-psycho-social) is based more on consciousness. Era I focuses mainly on the human as a “Physical Body” and what can be done to correct it physically. Era III states that the “mind is boundless and unlimited”. In Era III the realization came about that ones mental health can affect their physical health as well as the health of other humans surrounding them. (Dossey, “A Conversation About the Future of Medicine”: Larry Dossey’s 3 Era’s in Healthcare) 2) In the past 8 years of my nursing career I have witnessed multiple forms of nursing. The bio-psycho-social model is the one that I most relate to. I believe in the power of prayer and healing, and also that ones beliefs can affect their health, physical, mental, and emotional. 3) I feel that I take a very mindful approach to my nursing practice. Mindfulness is defined as “a state of mind or mode of practice that permits the questioning of expectations, knowledge, and the adequacy of routines in complex and not fully predictable social, technological, and physical settings. Mindfulness does not exclude or oppose the idea of routines, but may in fact build upon routinized action”. (Rerup, 2005; Levinthal and Rerup, 2006). I try to maintain this state...

...from these cultures both negative and positive. When one is writing on religion or family values you must be willing for the controversial rebuttal. One must chose topics that offend as well as promote the good. The writer began censoring herself after one theater play received threats, and she received unwanted obscenities. She then writes, “Some hate me but a lot more love me” (pg93 par 2), shows a response for the audience of these plays. When one begins creating plays it is for money not to see how love or hate the artist or creator of the play is. It is to tell a story of interest and highlight one thought by bringing it to life in front of an audience. This writer also placed a small bio of herself and family to the reasoning for the theater plays. In my opinion using her bio to show or depict how her religion culture background is was non-productive. She did not participate in any service like other relatives, so she think she is a spokesperson for that religion. How can one be an expert in what one has not mastered? The writer speaks of not attending religious service whit relatives in a mosque, but her father prayed twice a year. Comparing one’s past or to different people can be controversial. I sometimes...

First he already reveled his identity to Poitras and Greenwald, which leads me to my second point Laura and Glenn could have exposed him at a moments notice. Then he was more concerned about people being blamed for a crime they did not commit as well. Quickly after, four days later after the guardian revealed his identity he went into hiding and his bio quickly surfaced. Reading his bio in Geneva was the first place he contemplated about reveling government secrets; he was also disillusioned by how the government functioned and the impact it had on the world.
