...Decision to Pursue MBA Degree Dorothy Hall MGT/521-Management August 5, 2010 Professor John Quesnel Decision to Pursue MBA Degree Deciding to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree is an important decision that should not be taken lightly. The master’s program is challenging and will take time from an individual’s personal life. An MBA can further a career, begin a new career, or fulfill a personal goal. In contemplating whether to obtain an MBA degree, I had to decide what value this degree would afford me. In obtaining this degree, it would further my education and could definitely be an asset to any future career choice that I may undertake when I retire from State Farm Insurance in a couple of years. In constructing and supporting this argument on whether to pursue an MBA, as a choice, I used the Jungian Personality Self-Assessment to foster insight into possible career paths and how other individuals perceive me. The self-assessment of the Jungian personality gives an individual through 16 personality types a better understanding of him or herself. The assessment measures thinking styles of individuals, modes of dealing with information and interactions for potential managers in group settings. My personality type was the INFP result that describes individuals reserved, creative, and highly idealistic with a possible career as an architect, journalist, educational consultant, missionary, actor, artist, and poet. I agreed with some...

...Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree to achieve a personal business goal. Next, I will discuss the description to construct and Support an Argument. Finally, I will discuss the considerations of the Jungian Personality self-assessment on how others perceive you. My decision to pursue my MBA I decided to pursue my Master’s Degree with University of Phoenix because I wanted to achieve another business degree before taking the next steps toward opening my own childcare center. Opening up my own childcare center has been a dream goal since I was a teenager. Once I graduate with my Master’s Degree there is a lady I know who already operates two Goddard School Franchises. Ms. Karen told me that when I am ready to take the first steps, such as finding a place, and getting a loan that she will be there to help guide me in the right direction such as giving me the first $25,000 as a down payment. After I do find a place, I plan on starting with infants and toddlers, this way I am able to get my name recognized around the city as a childcare center owner within my community where I live. Pros and Cons of getting my MBA As stated by Clouse, (2006, p. 433-434), “In argumentation, the writer offers evidence to support a claim about an issue. The more convincing the evidence, the more likely readers will agree.” When stating the pros and cons about pursuing my MBA is a life-changing, but rewarding moment, especially because I am going to become a small business owner...

...The Concept of Program Reengineering Analyze four (4) policy choices of Mayor Schell that were made as part of the strategy for the homeless. Answer In December 1995, the King County Community Homelessness Advisory Committee articulated particular strategies to address the homelessness concerns which were (1) creation of a regional homeless services network, (2) Proactive homelessness prevention, (3) client follow-up and continued support for transition into permanent housing, and (4) direct resources to assistant clients of underserved populations such as single men, and homeless families. These strategies were collective collaboration from the King County Community Homelessness Advisory Committee work to address the ongoing concerns with the homeless population within the county. The need to improve the homeless problem was great, and lead to collaborative and collective agreements with local and state officials to resolve the on-going problem. Analyze the Pre-Implementation and Design Strategies of Mayor Schell and interpret four (4) practical outcomes of his choices. Answer “On June 2nd, 1998, Mayor Paul Schell spoke to the press about the needs of homeless families, women and children. He asked for the City Council’s support in providing “immediate emergency assistance to homeless families and single women, a critical step in providing lasting housing solutions for these families and individuals” (The Electronic Hallway, 2012). The pre-implementation and design...
