...A Business Proposal to Make Ethical and Diversity Considerations to Improve the Strategic HRM Planning Process. Prepared for Jane Doe HR Director ABC Restaurant & Pub Prepared by XXXXX Personnel Director ABC Restaurant & Pub December 24, 2012 ABC’s Restaurant & Pub Ethical and Diversity Considerations to Improve the Strategic HRM Planning Process. I have gathered information over the last five weeks about department policies and best practices pertaining to ethical and diversity considerations. Based on these findings, the following proposal is presented to improve the strategic planning process. Diversity and ethics are buzzwords and are used frequently around the workplace. There are areas within both where making small changes could result in large benefits for the company’s HR strategic planning process. These considerations are important for the strategic plan because they encourage a positive company culture and decrease legal risks that could otherwise result in the demise of the company. Diversity As a restaurant and bar located in the middle of a military-base town, our personnel records indicate management has been hiring primarily a specific demographic type (women ages 18-30). ...Consideration for Ethics and Diversity Proposal There are some ethical and diversity considerations which have emerged in the Human Resource Department (HRM). These are important for the strategic HRM planning process and should be addressed effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner. These considerations have been researched and thoroughly analyzed and are essential to the continued growth of the company. Specific recommendations have been included to handle the considerations. Ethical Consideration Currently faculty in the Practical Nursing Department input their time in an excel spreadsheet and submit to the coordinator of the department. It has come to the attention of human resource department that there have been discrepancies in the reported time, actual instruct time and instruct time scheduled. These inconsistencies in time reporting could be mistakes on the part of the actual faculty members, or oversights in the time sheet approval process by the department coordinator. This issue is considered an ethical issue because it can hinder the company’s financial growth by affecting the budget. The proposal for this ethical consideration is that we integrate a computerized time keeping system. The computerized time keeping system will correlate with the actual time the faculty member is scheduled to instruct with the exception of fifteen minutes before and after. Any overtime should be pre-approved or approved...

If the country is run by a borderline dictator such as President Arahi Gwendoz that took over Candore in a bloodless coup, the rule might be very difficult to understand. If there are no rules such the Constitution of the United States, there will be a lot of room for a variety of interpretations. BSE-4C Marketing Prof. Rose Marie Ramos Managing Ethics in the Workplace Managing workplace ethics promotes shared values that result in better cohesion of the workforce, and play a crucial role in the success of any organization Workplace ethics are the application of morality, or concepts such as good and bad, right and wrong, justice and virtue to all activities of the business. It closely relates to corporate social responsibility, but is much wider in scope. The scope of business ethics lies in two dimensions: 1. Workplace behavior ethics, or the illegal and questionable practices of individual managers, such as wrongful use of resources, mismanagement of contracts and agreements for personal gain, conflict of interests, and the like. 2. Business ethics issues, such as ethical dilemmas when making decisions, dealing with stakeholders, and the like. The primary requirement for managing ethics in the workplace is an understanding that workplace ethics is a continuous and on-going process ingrained to management practices, and not a deliverable defined project. It influences the way the organization functions, and remains independent of profits or product range. • Ethics Policy Irrespective of the dimension of business ethics, the basic requirement for managing ethics in the workplace is to have a strong ethics policy in place that makes the company’s ethics policy transparent...

Analyzing the Business Decision or Problem Businesses currently face a change in the consumer landscape as generation Y consumers (persons born between the years 1982 and 1994) have the capacity to dominate the economy. It is important for companies to recognise generation Y’s behaviours, attitudes, characteristics and influences in order to “create and develop new business opportunities to remain competitive and generate profits.” Sullivan, D. P. (2004). However, this is proving difficult for businesses as the incentives behind generation Y consumption practices and preferences remain obscure. The following proposal intends on focusing on this division by examining the consumption behaviour of generation Y individuals. This would be good for the school to rezone the boundaries but it is not favorable to the stakeholders in some circumstances. The stakeholders are the parents of the children in this case. The big issue for the current students is the disruption of the current curriculum and a possible change of school systems entirely. Numerous opposition plans influence the parent’s behavior to stop the rezoning, which are education quality, traveling time of the students to and from school, crossing economic and cultural boundaries, impact on property valuations in the communities, and social impacts on children. This document is intended to create a simpler understanding of the negotiation strategy used by the school management to support the rezoning boundaries by considering the concerns of the stakeholders. According to the scenario provided, the parents have issues with rezoning the boundaries of the school system. The main opposition to rezoning is the education quality that is served by the school.
