It has been estimated that at the current rate, hospitals will be forced to function with a nursing vacancy rate of 20 % in the not-toodistant future. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect that leadership style has on the job satisfaction level of nurses. It has been indicated that job satisfaction levels negatively correlate with employee attrition rates (Vandenberghe, Stordeur, & D'hoore, 2002).
