Dirt Bikes USA’s goal is to create a bike that outperforms and looks better than the competition. Steven McFadden (President) and Carl Schmidt (CEO) strive to make this happen by using the best custom parts available. By using global resources, such as, Rotax engines from Austria and tires from Dunlop. McFadden and Schmidt’s engineering background and enthusiasm for the sport helps them create an informal, team culture where employees, retail customers are urged to help improve the company’s products and services.

Dirt Bikes provide the opportunity to create a customized bike for your riding needs. By making their own frames, shaping them and making them uniquely spirited, Customizing done by using quality components from around the world as well as all American parts.
These services and parts only account for 15% of the company’s total revenue. The products that are sold at retail price include four different models for endurance racers and for motocross racing. However, Dirt Bikes does not sell directly to retail customers, they are all handled directly by distributors and dealers. The only way to purchase a product or service is through an authorized dealer who potentially setups sales, parts, services, and warranty repairs. Retail purchasing can only occur if a customer resides 50 miles from the nearest authorized dealer. This product is marketed at racing events, where employees are also involved in promoting bikes by racing with them.

I do not believe that there are many levels of management in this business. There is evidence of only one manager in Dirt Bikes USA, which is the marketing manager. There are 120 production workers, 6 people that can be known as the average “knowledge workers”, and 2 information workers. An organizational chart for Dirt Bikes USA would appear similar to the chart in page 2.
