...between Conrad and his parents, and in especially with his mother. She takes and interprets all of his actions the wrong way, thinking that he is pointing her out in order to hurt her feelings. Therefore, in order for a relationship to be strong and for it to last, there must be proper communication, with being outgoing and honest. Another important element in relationship is trusting. Without trust a relationship will most likely be sabotaged with suspicion and lies. Cal trusted his son, Con in many ways, even before Con learned to trust himself. One of the first evident signs of external trust in this novel was when Con gets his car for Christmas and "Cal, resisting the urge to call, 'Take it easy!' or any other of those good luck charms, thinks, He will be very careful. He will take it easy, even though he has not driven in nearly a year, because he is a good driver." (Page 117) An additional show of a lack of trust is when Con does not have enough belief in his mother to tell her how he feels about all the things he is feeling. This includes what he believes his mother thinks of him, and about his feelings on his brother's death. When a relationship is in lack of trust, many hurtful and damaging things are held inside, and feelings do not become acknowledged or known. The element of forgiveness is very important in numerous ways, because no one is exactly perfect, and everyone makes mistakes in life as expected. Some people can come to terms with the past and move on, but others...

...pineapple peelings and leaves comparable to the commercial product when analyzed by strength, appearance, and texture? Abstract The major relevance of this study is to produce alternative materials from recycled things/waste products, fruit peelings for instance to replace our commercial materials which is really expensive in making things to be part of our day-to-day life. Experimental method of research was used. The process involved some phases to be covered in conducting the study. The researchers collected and gather information, data and samples about the said study. It also includes extraction and filtration and the testing. This is a new type of renewable and sustainable raw materials since it recovers from things that we completely thought a total waste, easy to dispose but we never thought can be very useful. In this study, the waste product of pineapple peelings becomes recyclable. Description Pineapple, Ananas comosus, belongs to the Bromeliaceae family, from which one of its most important health-promoting compounds, the enzyme bromelain, was named. The Spanish name for pineapple, pina, and the root of its English name, reflects the fruit's visual similarity to the pinecone. Pineapples are actually not just one fruit but a composite of many flowers whose individual fruitlets fuse together around a central core. Each fruitlet can be identified by an "eye," the rough spiny marking on the pineapple's surface. The pineapple plant...

Easy Riders, Raging Bulls is remarkable in the way that gave us an understanding and behind the scenes of Hollywood’s last golden age. “The 70s were the first time that a kind of age restriction was lifted. Young people were allowed to come rushing in with all of their naïveté and their wisdom and the privileges of youth. It was just an avalanche of new ideas, which is why the 70s were such a watershed” (Biskind 15). A small low budget biker movie made in 1969 sparked the new era of movies, known as Easy Rider. This movie was a shock but a huge success to Hollywood for the fact it was made with drugs, booze, and violent rivalry. Once Easy Rider was successful a new breed of directors were in demand, such as Francis Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, George Lucas, and Martin Scorsese. This book contains so much research and extensive interviews of not only the directors, but...

...How American History Influenced The Movie Industry? The period of 1960’s is known as one of the most creative periods in the history of the Hollywood filmmaking. It was prominent due to usage of new narrative and style techniques in presenting changes in American values in the film industry at that time. The period of 60’s is known as a period of change, which was carrying an idea that the goal American society sets, can be successfully achieved. The most common topic in the movies of that period was America’s role in the World, as well as it’s controversial position. President of the US at that time, John Kennedy was promising that before the end of the decade men will step on the moon. He also lobbied for the civil right movement and the Civil Rights Act, which emphasized the end of the period of long segregation in the South. The latter finally gave the same amount of equality to Whites and Blacks. However, the decade ended with the Watts riots. All of these occasions summarized gave a clear sign that there was something wrong happening in America. The movies of 60’s were a way to respond to social movements, which were connected with the issues of civil rights, poverty, and feminism. Films were not only the representation of public view on the issues taking place in America, but also presented the favorable outcomes of values and institutions. ...examine the fruit eating habits of the children in elementary and middle schools. This research showed that apart from general hatred among the children for fruits, there are certain other reasons which turn to affect their eating habits, psychologically. One of them was spotted as the form in which the fruits are presented. Researchers said, on average slice cut fruits are more liked by the children as compared to whole fruits. In this experiment, three of six schools were allotted randomly to serve apples in cuts. The variable set was the amount of fruit intake by the students in the schools. Three control schools served apples as a whole, in their cafeterias. Determination, utilization, and misuse of apples were measured before and amid treatment. (Robert, Washington) This result suggested the key finding that in the schools where slice-cut pieces were served, the fruit eating students’ percentage increased by 71% as compared to the schools which served whole fruits. This study applies the rule of accommodation from behavioral financial aspects and gives a case of an adaptable, easy ecological change that advances adherence to a good diet and declines waste. Summary of Journalist’s Article From the start the journalist has made an engaging tone. Starting with the fact that although new nutrition standards impress upon getting more fruit intake for the students yet students don’t like them at all, make the article interacting. ...QINGBO FENG SALES MANAGEMENT FRESH FRUIT STAND BACKGROUND Tulane students typically eat little fresh fruit, and after some research, I conclude it into several basic reasons. First, this is a food culture thing in American hospitality industry. Sometimes people simply don’t like fruits and vegetables, but often American diet is simply not fruit or veggie-centric. If you look at most menus posted in LBC in front of each food counter, you will notice that the entrees are primarily meat or grain based: “BEEF STEAK”, “ROSTED CHICKEN”, “PASTA DISH””SAUSAGE PIZZA””SANWADGE””STEAMED RICE””HAMBURGER”… Salad served in LBC tends to consist of some vegetables and fruit, but the amount of fruit is really limited. Usually, Fruit is only an after-thought in most dishes, or people tend to enjoy fruit during the break in afternoon. But existing cup-fruit is standardized and is not flexible for the preference of different fruits. it’s disappointing for some people because of the limited varieties there. Different people have different appetite for fruit. For example, Apple is known as the “king of fruit”, but I still keep on hearing some people’ complains about the bad taste of apple. Furthermore, fruits and vegetables also haven’t been extensively packaged in ready-to-eat forms. There are rows and rows of “open and eat” lunch meats, cheeses, cereals, granola bars, crackers, but just a handful of easy to consume, fresh fruit options. Most fruits require washing and peeling, perhaps chopping...

...orchard stacks, and the cold storage buildings? This case study suggest scalability, the textbook stated that when analyzing a customer’s scalability goals, it is important to keep in mind that there are obstacles to scalability, in this case the fruit trees can grow tall and leafy, therefore they can absorb wireless radio frequency (RF) signal (Oppenheimer, 2011). Therefore, the selection of technology that can meet Harriett’s goals for accommodating her tall fruit trees is vital and the having proper storage is essential as well, because the cold storage buildings have ice hazards, which impedes the installation of equipment. Scalability is integral during the phase of network design process such whether to use LAN or WAN. In my opinion the usage of WAN would be better due to the cold storage buildings, because it have less capacity than LANs, but also it has more affordability due to routing protocols that can minimizes WAN traffic, improve efficiency on WAN circuits the utilization of a compression, allocated WAN bandwidth (Oppenheimer, 2011). The utilization of Ethernet because it has the standard method for connecting servers, switches, and end users’ machines (Oppenheimer, 2011). Make a list of business goals for Harriet’s Fruits and Chocolate Company. What are some constraints that will affect these goals? The value of knowing the Harriett’s business goals and constraints is a crucial aspect of network design (Oppenheimer, 2011). Keep in mind network upgrades are made not...

...times from Mesopotamia to prehistoric Egypt, possibly as early as 6000 BC. There is archaeological evidence of date cultivation in eastern Arabia in 4,000 BC. Dates are an important traditional crop in Iraq, Arabia, and north Africa west to Morocco and are mentioned many places in the Quran. In Islamic countries, dates and milk are a traditional first meal when the sun sets during Ramadan. Dates (especially Medjool and Deglet Noor) are also cultivated in southern California in the United States. Date palms take about 7 years after planting before they will bear fruit, and produce viable yields for commercial harvest after about 10 years. Mature date palms can produce 80-120 kilograms of dates per harvest season, although they do not all ripen at the same time so several harvests are required. In order to get fruit of marketable quality, the bunch of dates must be thinned before ripening so that the remaining fruits grow larger. Dry or soft dates are eaten out-of-hand, or may be seeded and stuffed with fillings such as almonds, candied orange and lemon peel, and marzipan. Dates can also be chopped and used in a range of sweet and savory dishes, from tajines (tagines) in Morocco to puddings, bread, cakes and other dessert items. Dates have high tannin content and are used medicinally as a detersive (having cleansing power) and astringent in intestinal troubles. As an infusion, decoction, syrup, or paste, dates may be administered for sore throat, colds, bronchial catarrh...

...“The Sufi Tale”. In Lord of the Flies, the “beast” or the “Lord of the Flies” represents the fear of the unknown, while in “Sufi tale” the watermelon is the symbol of fear. The boys in Lord of the Flies react almost the same as the villagers in “Sufi Tale”, they both cower and are afraid of this unknown. The settings of both stories are idyllic, but the fears have ruined the paradise by causing chaos. However the endings of both stories are entirely opposite due to the leaders’ solutions. Since the settings in both stories are both idyllic, lives should be easy, peace, and happy. “The Sufi Tale” happens in a small quiet agricultural village. Villagers use simple tools and have plenty of trees, fruits, and food. People there have happy lives. Although in Lord of the Flies, the boys’ plane crushed, the island is perfect just like the Eden paradise. The boys do not have to worry about food, because the island is full of fruit trees and small animals that they can hunt such as pigs. Also, the weather of the island is warm, so they do not have a problem about how to keep themselves away from freezing at night. Therefore the island is idyllic, even Ralph said “this is a good island” and “we can have a good time on this island”. Even though the fears of the unknown are presented in different forms in two stories, the chaos it causes does not change. Fear of the unknown is represented in Lord of the Flies by the “beast”. The kids are scared of the unknown “beast” and they think it is...

...Individual Wellness Change Project The client I selected for this project is a 70 year old female. This client resides in a household with her husband, and adult son. Retirement has not equated with rest and relaxation for my client as she also takes care of two of her adult brothers in poor health. Three granddaughters have been the source of joy for her as they’ve grown from precious infants to teenagers. My client also assumes the role of family matriarch for her other nine siblings. With many demands for time and attention, I predicted the needs assessments to direct us towards stress management. The results we received sent out project in another direction. With my initial prediction of the focus needed being on stress management, I had my client complete the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale (Holmes and Rahe, n.d.) first. In spite of numerous responsibilities and various family members always seeking advice, her score was only a 16. Scores below 150 represent only a slight risk of illness due to stress. The one area where stress does affect my client is in her sleeping habits. Many nights she experiences insomnia while contemplating current family situations, and consequentially suffers from fatigue. My client’s concern over taking care of everyone else leaves little time for her to focus on herself. The remainder of our assessments helped to point out what she already knew about her nutrition and physical activity levels. The results of the LiveWell assessment...
