Analysis of the Factors that Affect Job Satisfaction: A Case Study on Private Companies Employees of Bangladesh

Abstract Job satisfaction is an important aspect for an organization’s success. A successful organization is the one with satisfied workers. This research report tried to find out the main factors of job satisfaction and whether they have any impact on the job satisfaction of the employee of private companies. Firstly the factors responsible for job satisfaction were identified through a literature review of various articles related to job satisfaction. A focus group discussion among employees and an exploratory research were also conducted. Nine Factors were found. Then to analyze the effect of these nine factors, a quantitative research was done. The employees were selected through convenience sampling. After conducting pretest the main survey was done. The result indicated that four out of nine factors (Coordination and Leave Facility, Reward & Future Opportunities, Vision of the Company, Work Process, and Health & Insurance Policy) have significant influence on Job satisfaction. The study concluded that an effective organization will make sure that there is a spirit of cooperation along with coordination among employees and sense of commitment towards achieving the goals and satisfaction within the sphere

Hence we can easily say that the private commercial banks (PCBs) comprise for the largest portion of the banking sector. The banking sector has attracted a lot of fresh graduates for a very long time because of their work environment and other facilities that they provide. Moreover, the work environment and culture of the private commercial banks are such that the employees are motivated to work and prove themselves to their employers. One such approach made by PCBs was to offer a higher post to the young, newly hired graduates as they believed that this would help to increase employee satisfaction. This strategy has by many means been successful as well as a little unsuccessful for the banks. ...Financial Sector Reform Policy streamlining the country’s economy, Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) has achieved great success in all areas of operations with ultimate objective of improving the socio-economic development of the country. This study attempts to evaluate job satisfaction of bank officers of the SJIBL. It focuses on the relative importance of job satisfaction factors and their impacts on the overall job satisfaction of officers. It also investigates the impacts of bank type, work experience, age, and sex differences on the attitudes toward job Satisfaction. The result shows that salary, efficiency in work, fringe supervision, and co-worker relation are the most important factors contributing to job satisfaction. Five service quality dimensions namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles have been established based on the SERVQUAL model and the literature review.
