...What is a good character? This may seem like a simple question, yet it may be a complicated one, too. But there are many different ways to describe someone who has good character, and some of the qualifications are honesty, loyalty, and faith. However, character is not something someone is born with, it is the development of one’s personality and individuality which identifies them based off their ethnic, cultural, and academic background. When you think of a person with good character, you might think of someone with integrity. Integrity means that you have a set of certain values that you live by day to day, which one creates due to their experiences. With this integrity, you make positive choices, hold specific morals in the overall situation, and are constructive and encouraging for others despite of there being wrongs or rights; because these ideals are what make a good character. A character that sums up these qualities, actions and tendencies distinguishes them from others due to their knowledge, and makes them who they are, which is admirable. A prime example to a “good character” in my life that helps me distinguish this ideal would have to be my mother. She has a good heart, benevolent feelings, and a balanced mind. She knows how to reduce stress level for anyone even if she’s the one filled with nerves. She continues to portray trustworthy actions, respectful manners, responsible decisions, fair performances, caring deeds, and good citizenship. And even though...

...Having good character traits can get you a lot of places in life because many people will like you, but what character traits should you have to get to this point? Well, one character trait you should have is honesty, as well as respectful, and being kind. If you have these traits, you're set for a good life ahead of you! Having honesty as a character trait is really important because it shows that you can be trusted. For example, if someone you work with is having problems at home and they're really stressed and you notice, then if they trust you, they'll let you in so that they won't have to hold it in, and they can express how they're feeling because they trust you. Whereas, if you aren't honest, and you try to help your co-worker, they won't tell you how they feel and it will be a burden for them because they have to keep their feelings welled up inside of them.Clearly, if you have honesty as a character trait, then you can help a lot of people when they're going through hard times....

...Mamhot Lit 21 PARTS OF A STORY The main parts of a story are character(s), plot and setting. You may have heard these terms before. Every story has characters. The characters can be adults, children, or even animals. In some stories, objects with human traits and voices are characters, like the teacup in Beauty and The Beast, for example. PLOT The plot is the story itself. A good plot captures attention and makes the reader of your story want to keep reading. Conflict is another term that is related to plot. Every story has a conflict. This is the issue or problem faced by the characters. It may be a problem they need to solve or an adventure you want them to have. SETTING The setting is where the story takes place. It may take place in a familiar city or another country, in the character’s home, at a school, in a sports stadium…any place that fits the characters and the plot. Of course, there can be more than one setting within a story if the story is long enough. Since you will be writing a short story, it will probably be best to set it in only one place. Related to setting is the time period. A story may be set in the present, in the past, or in the future. When you plan a story, begin with a character or characters, a plot (something for the character or characters to do), and a place and time for the action of the story to happen. You may be surprised how many ideas you have for characters, plot, and setting once you start thinking about them. These things...

There are four main elements which guide a writer in creating a good story ending in a novel. Comparisons between two novels; a complicated Kindness and Kite runner ending will help establish a good example of each of the four elements discussed below. First a good ending should seek to address the main problem or the antagonist. The protagonist does not necessarily have to win every time in a story but the main issue and problem be addressed in a way with the major win or defeat on the protagonist part. ...QUESTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS 1. Word Count SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 3,000 WORDS. 2. As you ponder these elements, answer the following questions about the play, in paragraph format. Use complete sentences and good grammar to develop a good paragraph response to each question. Your style need not be formal, but it should be polished and thoughtful. WRITE YOUR OWN THOUGHTS, and DO NOT use outside internet sources or any other resources, other than for context. Steps to follow in writing a play analysis: CONTEXT: Consider the period setting of the play, and then research the events of the world during that time period. For example, if you are analyzing a play that takes place during the great depression, you will need to research and understand the current events and everyday human concerns of that period in order to write a dramaturgical analysis. The time setting is the most important part of dissecting the inner workings of a play. Characters are defined by their environments, just as we human beings are. So understanding the world events of a play's time period is essential in order to truly grasp the intended setting. When writing your analysis, include not only the broad events of the period, but also smaller scale concerns that would have affected the characters in the play at that time. These smaller, more personal glimpses into life during the period will actually prove to be the most beneficial to someone reading your analysis....

...English 10B 4/17/1 Lord of the Flies: Characterization What is good characterization? Characterization is the way an author presents and develops a character to make them believable. This essay will focus on three believable characters. One of the believable characters is Ralph. Another believable character is Jack. The last believable character is Simon. Because William Golding wanted believable characters, he made Ralph round and dynamic, Jack flat and static, and Simon round and static. One interesting character is Ralph. For example Ralph is a round character because he has multiple traits. Sometimes he borders on savagery, and sometimes he acts civilized. In chapter 2, the children are setting to get rescued. During the conversation, Ralph tells the boys, “We ought to have more rules. Where the conch is, that’s a meeting. The same up here as down there”(42). This shows that Ralph wants to be civilized, but he had times where he was savage too. The best example of Ralph’s savagery is where he helps kill Simon later in the book. Moreover, Ralph is dynamic because he changes throughout the novel. Early in the novel, Ralph is carefree and happy person. By the end, however he becomes very sad and guilty. At the end, Ralph was about to be killed by Jack, but was saved at the last second. This brought a lot of emotion. Ralph cries because he knows that man is not innocent or good, and he cries because Piggy has died (202). Ralph changes from an innocent kid...
