Growth to adulthood is essential for one’s rite of passage. Through the journey of adulthood, many experience life changes. Many individuals may inherit responsibilities such as being able to support themselves financially, making decision that is either right or wrong, and being self-independent. With more responsibility, that individual will become more and more stress. Stress is a common problem that affects almost all of us at some point in our lives. It is unavoidable and beyond our control. Stress affects our mental and physical well-being. Learning to identify when you are under stress, what is stressing you, and different ways of coping with stress can greatly improve both mental and physical well-being. These expenses are unavoidable if I want to continue my education and achieve a better future. Financial stress has taken a toll on my mind and body because I would have to be constantly thinking about money. If I spend too much money on a particular day, I might not have enough to pay the bills later on. I had two different jobs because I wanted a safety net if something were to happen to me that requires emergency attention. These might include major medical bills or family emergency. The stress of worrying about my financial issues and trying to keep my grades up in school has taken a toll on me. Stress had kept me feeling depressed and constantly fearing for my future. My nights were getting harder to sleep because my mind was restless, wondering if I would have a better life when I grow …show more content…
Stressors emotionally and physically affect me. The constant worry over jobs, school, or family actually drains energy and my ability to perform well. A person must find healthy ways to manage and cope with stress. One of my problems is not allowing myself to say no to other people. My goal is to learn to say no to others and take control of any stressful situation at hand. I need to manage my stress by controlling and reducing the tension that occurs in stressful situations.
