...The future of Health Care in the United States is more uncertain than at any other time in the past fifty years. This new uncertainty was created by the U.S.Supreme Court’s decision to receive a challenge to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), known by most as Obamacare. If you missed it, the oral arguments on the case were presented before the Court in an historic three days of hearings March 26-28. These were preceded by many briefs submitted to the Court from a broad spectrum of organizations. All of this information is available in the public domain. A detailed analysis of each day of the hearings may be found at healthaffairs.org.blog. A decision from the Court is expected in late June. There is no certainty about how the Court will rule in the case before it. There are widely divergent speculations which are interesting to read, for sure. This is usual and customary. On the other hand, there is a difference this time. The entire healthcare system is likely to be impacted, many millions of citizens will feel it, and the political races from coast to coast are expected to react regardless of the outcome. There is one certainty. The Justices of the Supreme Court have more power to influence the direction and content of how health care is provided and paid for than at any time in contemporary history with the possible exception of the era when Medicare and Medicaid were enacted in the mid 1960s. The Court’s decision will likely have substantial impact regardless of the decision...

...Health Care Industry Pam Simmons University of Phoenix HCS/449: Health Administration Capstone Marilyn Johnson June 4, 2012 In today’s world, everyone wants the most from health care. In the last 10 years, health care has changed in a big way. One thing, in which has changed, is “the way older adults are living ten years longer than before” (Imperial NHS, 2011). Another thing is that people do not have to wait as long for treatments, like before, such as” eye surgeries, like cataract surgery” (Imperial NHS, 2011), which is very good. The health care industry has come a long way than before and a big thing that has changed is the social networking. This means that more people are “communicating with each other in a positive way, due to more technology that has been researched and found” (Kevin MD, 2011, p. 1). There are many people able to stay home, instead of living in nursing homes, like before. They have caregivers to help them with services, such as bathing, dressing, cleaning, and cooking. Health care is improving in a good way and many things could happen in 10 years from now. In the next 10 years, the cost in health care will get reduced ; however, there could be chaos, such as “pollution and other germs, which could affect the lives of many people and his or her health” (Wells, 2012, p. 1). This could lead to “ infectious diseases and illnesses, due to stress build-up” (Wells, 2012, ), which could result to more health care...

The fatality rate was 60% in adults, and 80-98% in infants. (Baylor University, 2005). Edward Jennings found a solution for a smallpox vaccination in 1796. He took the lesions from a lady who had cowpox and injected it into a young boy who had smallpox. The young boy was cured of the disease within 9 days. This made Edward Jennings realize...

...Health Care Economics and the Uninsured School of Nursing Health Care Economics and the Uninsured The United States health care system is a large and complex structure organized to deliver health care services to the country’s residents (Maurer, 2013). The system is not systematically organized, but is the result of the interrelationships between numerous influences such as culture, consumers, epidemiology, health professionals, governmental policy, technology, and economics (Maurer, 2013). Due to the various, and, often conflicting, interests on the U.S. health care system, large disparities exist in the delivery of health care to consumers. In fact, according to Maurer (2013), “the consumer is the most vulnerable component and is the most likely to be hurt by ineffective functioning of the system” (p. 63). Because of the ineffectiveness of the current system for so many Americans and the disparities that exist among consumers, the American Nurses Association [ANA] (2008) described the current U.S. health care system as “in a state of crisis” (Executive Summary, para. 1). For many Americans, the major obstacle preventing them from receiving quality and reliable health care is a lack of health insurance (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality [AHRQ], 2012; Maurer, 2013; Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured [KCM&U], 2012). More specifically, the way our health care system is financed, a piecemeal approach of...

I like the fact that the day care centre have many different activities and things to do in order to keep the service user occupied, also most of them got the service users working together to accomplish their emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs. I liked the fact that all elderly people were happy and self motivated to get on with activities without complaints. Most of them have different days of visiting the day care centre as some of them have to pay for their time there. Though, this is a good way for them to socialise with people of their age, and it is where they come to have a laugh and keep themselves busy throughout the day. They all get along very well and communicate to each other effectively. I really enjoyed listening and talking to them telling me different stories on how the country used to be few years earlier, talking to me about the original background , how they have been brought up, comparing the past and the present situation. I felt so motivated by them and they have encourage me to achieve a lot in my life so that I can also share my past life good experience with the future generation. Both administrations bottom line of health care were to close the gap of the uninsured. Contrarily, the Obama administration in 2010 revamped Clinton’s Health Care Act that was sold to the general public. This essay will compare and contrast Affordable Health Care with Health Reform plan, discuss the pros and cons of Affordable, and my recommendation on improvement on legislation. ...Kong and United States Heath Care Systems The United States is currently in the process of a health care reform which will change the current private sector health care program into a universal healthcare system. A great example of a universal healthcare program is Hong Kong. There are other countries that have changed from a private to a public health care system, but Hong Kong has shown that they have done it best. When comparing Hong Kong’s healthcare system to the United States healthcare system, the strengths and weaknesses of both will be revealed. In Hong Kong the government feels that no one should ever be denied the access to adequate healthcare. Hong Kong’s health care system includes both public and private insurance. The government has a very heavy involvement in Hong Kong’s healthcare. The reform that Hong Kong made to their health care system has earned them the ranking of the “world’s most efficient health care system.” (The Daily Briefing, 2013) While Hong Kong is being ranked as the world’s best, the United States is being ranked as one of the world’s worst health care systems. The United States and Hong Kong both consist of a public and private healthcare system. Even though Hong Kong has a universal healthcare system they still use the private sector as well. The private sector in Hong Kong provides nearly 70% of out-patient services. They provide a range of specialist and hospital care and affordable primary medical care. The government does subsidize...

Message Chosen for In-Depth MTS analysis The message I have chosen is a commercial for Life Alert, showing an older woman appearing to have fallen down stairs screaming for help. Although it could have been a successful commercial, the way they went about it gives off a very creepy and dark appearance, making it an unsuccessful commercial. ...concealment and that lack of air, which made James so uncomfortable. The doctor, a small woman in her fifties with rectangular spectacles looked up from behind a lubricous luxurious oak desk as James and Heath entered. "Ah, James how good of you to pay me a visit, please sit down " she said, pointing to the woollen chair on the other side of the desk. James who sat down as requested looked up slightly at Heath. Heath looked very much the same as James a young man no more than twenty five, in good shape, however, the only difference was that Heath had long shiny blonde hair while James had dull brown hair. Also Heath's face was so pale that James had always suspected him of wearing make-up. Both boys were medical students at the University of Colorado, and after James's "incident" on the roof where he had questionably tried to "kill himself", the University's magistrate had, as James putted it “sentenced” him to a year’s consultation with the university's shrink, Dr Lynne Fenton, who James had to visit every two weeks. "So James, has everything being going well?” asked the shrink, “yes" he slowly murmured trying to avoid eye contact. "And how's your family, have you seen your parents since the last time you were here?" "Yes" lied James turning round to see what his buddy was up to, but Heath had already left closing the door behind him. "Are you up for a game of chess?" asked the doctor, as she always did whenever James showed up. James didn't like playing with her, always trying to prolong...

March. http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/labor/218525-faa-why-we-should-invest-today-in-airports-inc) With the latest Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) forecast predicting a doubling of passengers and cargo by 2030, the current funding system is not up to the job of ensuring airports will have the infrastructure they need to handle such dramatic increases in traffic. This will have far-reaching consequences. Commercial airports are powerful economic engines, generating 10.5 million jobs and $1.2 trillion for the U.S. economy, according to a new Airports Council International-North America study. Across the country, workers and businesses count on local airports to attract investment and move people and goods around the world. Since 2001, the total number of jobs associated with airports has increased by more than 50 percent. Despite unprecedented growth and clear evidence of the economic benefits of infrastructure investments, airports expect to have $80 billion in unmet needs through 2015 because of the flawed system...

Of course, I never did discount the talent of Rachel and Finn. Cory Monteith's life was cut tragically short on Saturday, July 13. The Glee star, who celebrated his 31st birthday on May 11, was found dead in a hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, Canada, police announced in a press conference. According to Vancouver PD, emergency personnel arrived at the hotel shortly after noon, at which point Monteith was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. The coroner is investigating cause of death. Foul play is not suspected.
