In this portion of the communications strategy plan, the types of media that will be used are the television, printed materials, and radio announcements. These types of communications will be the most expensive of all the plans to undertake. When using the television, commercials will be produced in order to promote the new natural spray cleaners. The Mr. Clean mascot will be used in the commercials just as it has been for many years. During the commercials, the comparison will be made between the natural cleaners and the ones which use harsh chemicals. There are those consumers whom may still choose to not use the natural cleaners and continue to use what they have been accustomed to using. The average costs of running a commercial depends on when you want to air the commercial and the length of time that you want the commercial to be viewed on television. The costs range from $90 to $2500 per commercial for every commercial aired for a length of time spanning from 10 to 60 seconds. For example, if the commercial is aired during the Super Bowl, the cost of airing the commercial could be as much as $2 - $3 million. (Kobliski, 2006) For the purpose of advertising the natural spray cleaners, we are preparing to pay from $1500 - $2000 per airing of the commercial. When using printed materials such as flyers and newspaper advertisements, a broad consumer audience can be reached in advertising the new product. The costs of printed flyers at a local printing agency or store can range from $14.99 for 25 copies to $44.99 for 100 copies. (Vistaprint, 2015) Of course, thousands will have to be printed so the cost will be substantial.
