Important Functions of a Manager Ortia M. Watson

Abstract
In researching I have found some very important functions of a manager. While reading this paper I will tell you the functions and their importance to the managerial position. These functions will include but will not be limited to planning, controlling, organizing, and leading.

Important Functions of a Manager
The functions of a manager are very important beginning with the understanding of what the role of a manager is. In reading and personal experience, I know that planning organizing, leading and controlling things are mandatory. In the healthcare field it is the same for any field you have to be able to multi-task, make schedules that are able to be changed. You also need to have problem solving skills. This will help with anything uncertainties and things that come up at the last minute. This in turn lets you know you have to know your job. These functions and responsibilities are essential as a person with a lead role in an organization.
I feel that the most important role for a healthcare manager is to be able to communicate effectively what the mission of that department is, and making sure that the staff understands fully that the mission is not only for that hospital but as a part of that team it is also their mission.
The most significant aspect related to healthcare management that I want to obtain from this class is to be respected and known as a team player. To be seen as a hard worker and a person who will go above and beyond to get the things done that need to be done so my company and staff will get the least amount of complaints and run a hospital with the confidence that everything is good to go and we are giving good quality service to our patients. With this class I will be capable of conveying this
