Individual Learning Style
Life is constant learning, including lessons that vary regardless of our preferences. The way we like to learn is unique for everybody and depends on a person’s learning style. Learning styles depict on four different ways of learning and according to the VARK guide, they are Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinesthetic. In this essay I will present my learning styles, preferred learning strategies and show a comparison between preferred and identified strategies. Also, I will review how individual learning styles and strategies impact teaching and learning.
The VARK questionnaire results show that I have “Multimodal” learning style. It appears that the multimodal style is equilibrium for all four learning styles. Multiple preferences are unique when it comes to that they give you a possibility to choose between all four approaches to our learning and four intercommunications with others. By matching multiple modes to meaningful people that surround us, we create a positive attitude. However, people that wish to cause irritation may choose a mode that is different from the other person’s mode.
As my kinesthetic strategy prevails in my learning style, I can consider it significant and preferred in my learning process. Fundamentally kinesthetic learning means that the learner has a demand to be vigorously doing something in order for the process of learning to be productive. It is difficult for these people to concentrate and learn when they are sitting or inactive. For example when they attend a lecture, the body is unable to make a relation that they are active and do something during listening. In this situation I often use my kinesthetic strategy to get up and move in order to learn anything from the lecture.
