...Before you read my story, I would like to say some things about the drugs that are involved in my story so that you should be aware of them, and know how they affect the human body. I am presenting you the drugs for another reason too, because they are deeply involved in the story. The story is based on a real life situation and it represents the story of two brothers, told by one of them, seen from my point of view. During the whole time of doing my personal project I was always curious and ambitious about the things that I was working on, in my case that was drugs. I am really glad that I was a part of another human life and one of the brother’s (who is the main character in the story) told me really personal things about him, and I hope that with my personal project I could help other people in the way how they should live their life. Heroin The first drug that I will talk about is heroin. The most known drug of all and major part of my story. The most known way of getting heroin is by injection in the veins. It has been demonstrated that most opioid-dependent patients suffer from at least one severe psychiatric comorbidity. Since opioids used in pain therapy rarely cause any of these conditions, they are assumed to have existed prior to the development of dependence. Opioids are known to have strong antidepressant anxiolytic and antipsychotic effects and thus opioid dependence often develops as a result of self-medication. Opioids are excellent acute pain medication...

...Interesting post. While agree with specific points in your discussion, there are a few that I disagree with. With the largest capital reserves in the world, People's Republic of China is a credible threat on numerous fronts, however; PRC is only an emerging regional power with a fragile economy. At the same time, the threat that PRC poses is somewhat exaggerated by our own Congress. The war hawks on capitol hill, namely the neo-conservatives, are notorious for ensuring that the U.S. always has a credible enemy or rival (PRC is not yet an enemy)...and if one is not emerging on the horizon, then one will be "created". This has alot to do with insuring that the Military Industrial Complex (MIC) continues to thrive. The MIC accounts for more than 42% of global military sales. With that being said, PRC of course looks like an 800 pound gorilla, but the country has some mounting weakness that will begin to compound over time, and will invariably threaten PRC's economic & social reform programs...which could lead to numerous fault lines within its own borders. 1. PRC is an export economy: With the global recession still in full stride, the unemployment rate between the G8 and BRIC-M countries is hovering at approximately 8%. The rates are vastly more dismal for the rest of the world (CIA World Factbook). Therefore, the global demand for Chinese manufactures has declined dramatically, thereby, leading to the layoff of tens of millions of Chinese citizens. If the country’s...

...The year was 1971 late June; the family pet dog Hilda had a litter of puppies about seven weeks earlier. The puppies six in all, where the spitting image of their mother, black and tan long haired Doxies cute as they could be. One of the puppies a female had made an attachment to me and would follow me everywhere I went. I decided to name her Gertrude or Gertie for short. She was my soul mate and I loved her with every fiber of my being. In my spare time, I volunteer at the local pet store, and would go there on weekends and after school to help take care of the animals, and do odd jobs that needed to be done like repairing broken fish tanks and stuff like that . One Saturday. I decided to take Gertie with me, it never accrued to me to put her on a leash because she was never more than two steps away from me at all times, and I carried her most of the time, she only weighed a few pounds. At the time there was no leash law like there is today, so off we went to the pet store. We were at the pet store for hours and it was long past to dinner time and I was getting very hungry the store owner volunteered to pay for dinner, if I ran across the street and picked it up, I said sure. So I ran across the street to grab a couple of hot dogs it was getting late in the day and the traffic was pretty heavy, but I darted across with no problems. In my haste and hunger I had totally forgotten about little Gertie my mind was on my aching stomach. So when I got back, the owner...

...Albert Camus was a French-Algerian writer best known for his absurdist works, including The Stranger (1942) and The Plague (1947). He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1957. Early Life Albert Camus was born on November 7, 1913, in Mondavi, French Algeria. His pied-noir family had little money. Camus's father died in combat during World War I, after which Camus lived with his mother, who was partially deaf, in a low-income section of Algiers. Camus did well in school and was admitted to the University of Algiers, where he studied philosophy and played goalie for the soccer team. He quit the team following a bout of tuberculosis in 1930, thereafter focusing on academic study. By 1936, he had obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in philosophy. Political Engagement Camus became political during his student years, joining first the Communist Party and then the Algerian People's Party. As a champion of individual rights, he opposed French colonization and argued for the empowerment of Algerians in politics and labor. Camus would later be associated with the French anarchist movement. At the beginning of World War II, Camus joined the French Resistance in order to help liberate Paris from the Nazi occupation; he met Jean-Paul Sartre during his period of military service. Like Sartre, Camus wrote and published political commentary on the conflict throughout its duration. In 1945, he was one of the few Allied journalists to condemn the American use of the atomic bomb...

...Task 1 i. The allowance account is a contra account to accounts receivable, the actual bad debts of $35,000 are debited to the allowance account as they are written off. The expense recorded in the statement of comprehensive income therefore represents the balance-day adjustment upon assessment of the recoverability of the accounts receivable. Journal entry: Allowance for Doubtful Debts Dr $45,000 Account Receivable Cr $45,000 In determining cash receipts from customers under the direct method, the balance of the Allowance for Doubtful Debts account must not be netted off against the account receivable balance. Otherwise, both cash received from customers and cash paid for expenses will be mis-stated. Journal entry: Bad and doubtful debt Dr $35,000 Allowance for Doubtful Debts Cr $35,000 As is shown above, the bad debt expense should be ignored, since it is a book entry only and cannot be converted to a cash-basis expense. In the note showing reconciliation of net cash from operating activities to profit (indirect method), both the bad debts write-off of $35,000 and the increase in allowance for doubtful debts of $45,000 are taken into account automatically by the increase in the gross accounts receivable balance and the increase in the allowance for doubtful debts can be disclosed separately. ii. Depreciation expense is a non-cash item, which is included in the statement of comprehensive...

...Asdfadsfadsfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf The inspiration for environmental ethics was the first Earth Day in 1970 when environmentalists started urging philosophers who were involved with environmental groups to do something about environmental ethics. An intellectual climate had developed in the last few years of the 1960s in large part because of the publication of two papers in Science: Lynn White`s “The Historical Roots of our Ecological Crisis” (March 1967) and Garett Hardin`s "The Tragedy of the Commons" (December 1968). Most influential with regard to this kind of thinking, however, was an essay in Aldo Leopold`s A Sand County Almanac, "The Land Ethic," in which Leopold explicitly claimed that the roots of the ecological crisis were philosophical. Although originally published in 1949, Sand County Almanac became widely available in 1970 in a special Sierra Club/Ballantine edition, which included essays from a second book, Round River. Most academic activity in the 1970s was spent debating the Lynn White thesis and the tragedy of the commons. These debates were primarily historical, theological, and religious, not philosophical. Throughout most of the decade philosophers sat on the sidelines trying to determine what a field called environmental ethics might look like. The first philosophical conference was organized by William Blackstone at the University of Georgia in 1972. The proceedings were published as Philosophy and Environmental Crisis in 1974, which included Pete...

...Problem 1: a car left a house to go to an airport between 9 o’clock and 10 o’clock. If it moves at a speed of 88km/h and if the hour needle and the minutes needle overlaps when the car has traveled for 28km, solve 1) When the two needles overlap 2) When the car left the house Steps for solving: 1) 360degree/60=6degree (The minutes need moves 6degree every minute) 2) 360degree/12/60=0.5degree (The hour needle moves 0.5degree every minute) 3) At 9 o’clock 360*3/4=270degree 4) If the two needles overlap x minutes later 6x=270+0.5x 5) X=540/11 6) Answer: The two needles overlap at 9 o’clock 49 and 1/11minutes Second answer solution: 1) The car moved for 28/88*60minutes so it started moving at 540/11-28/88*60=540/11-210/11=330/11=30minutes 2) The car started moving at 9 o’clock 30 minutes Problem 2: there is a rectangle with sides that has a ratio of 1:2. ...AN INTERESTING STORY RELATED TO HR PEOPLE A small story for all HR people. A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. "You are employed." He said." Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start." The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email." I'm sorry", said the HR manager, "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job." The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the Operation three times, and returned home with $60. The man realized that he can survive by this Way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles. 5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, "I don't have an...

Hamletui...
