Life without Technology

What would life be if technology didn’t existed? What if the technology we’ve developed and manufactured over the last few centuries suddenly stopped working? Nonetheless, man will still go crazy without technology, especially in today’s society. We need technology to utilise other technology. In other words, technology depends on other technologies. The economy has grown so much that we rely on technology for basic operations. We would still be sleeping on work or school mornings if it wasn’t for an alarm clock. Many people in the U.S and Canada, as with simple families, are governed by this shrewd device. But then again, you need to set a time to wake up, because without the time itself, we would be doing nothing or the tasks we manage would be uneasy. But 90% of the time without time we ought to be in great chaos. Let’s look at video games. Without them, like girls, boys would be playing with dolly houses. Life would then be for them and me, devastated. Most of them are not influenced by sports or other physical activities. So they ought to get fat or lazy. Now girls are more sensitive. So let them imagine a world without cameras or camera devices. They are more likely on the list to die if those were never in existence. Nevertheless, today’s world is always about selfies. But there is one more topical idea that goes not only for adults, but especially teens i.e. the internet. Without the internet for some adolescents, life would be a vacant garret. And on the internet there are great social website e.g. the popular, renowned Facebook. There are even the apps made for smart phones. And also, there are the apps to download those apps. But what created these apps? And on a higher note, who and what he or she used to create the internet to utilize this famous app? Many teens are adhered to the internet. It’s like they have an unpaid job to carry out, and if not completed, they will become depressed. But that’s great business for the manufacturers of Cymbalta.

Answers to life without technology are limitless. We won’t have the time to manage tasks, boys and girls would be devastated without video games and camera. And I’m pretty sure that even down to adults and adolescents cannot do without the internet.

What Would Life Be Without Technology

...The everyday lives of people have changed a great deal due to the advent of technology. They have become easier, faster, more comfortable and dynamic. But, at the same time, our lives have become lethargic, preposterous and anti-social just like the computers that have become a part and parcel of our lives. The technology has enriched our lives and enlightened our minds, but in pursuit of its cozy comforts, people tend to be over-reliant on it, so much that they can’t even imagine living without it. This pointless obsession and abuse of technology in our lives has left us vulnerable and weak. No doubt, the advancements brought us unprecedented physical, medical and other benefits, but this over-reliance will prove costly for the survival of the human race. We are living in an Information Age where technology and knowledge bases are advancing at an explosive rate. According to Schilling, at an average, the magnitude human knowledge is now doubling every 13 months at the current rate. The over-whelming effects of this knowledge are all around us as cutting edge technology is rendered obsolete in the blink of an eye due to further advancements. It would be illogical to believe that we should abandon technology, because in many cases, it will be the difference for a better tomorrow. As a result of the pursuit of better quality of life, some dependence on technology is unavoidable because we would all like to have clean running water, healthy diet, and protection from terrible diseases...

Life Without Technology Would Be More Fulfilling

...“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity”, unquote- Albert Einstein. A very good morning to the chairperson, timekeeper, honorable judges, the audience and my dear opponents. The motion for today’s debate is, life without technology would be more fulfilling. Ladies and gentlemen, let me first define life & technology. Life is the existence of an individual human being or animal. Technology is the scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry. I would like to draw your attention to a particular aspect of fulfillment, satisfaction and happiness. Satisfaction is fulfillment of one’s wishes, expectations, or needs or the pleasure derived from this. Happiness is feeling or showing pleasure. Fulfilling, ladies and gentlemen, fulfilling. What is fulfillment? Fulfillment is the satisfaction or happiness as a result of fully developing one’s abilities or characters. I, the first speaker, will be speaking about men’s dependence on technology and human interaction, our second speaker will be speaking on Maslow Hierarchy of needs and how technology distracts us from achieving more fulfillment and our third speaker will rebut the opposition’s case and will be furthering our case if necessary. Our baseline for today is, ‘A beautiful painting, is not a product of a good brush but rather a good painter” How long has it been since you took a long stroll along the beach? How long has it been since you stood and stared leisurely...

...advances in technology for the sake of convenience. With the advancements of knowledge in our ever changing world inconvenience has become a thing of the past, or has it? In almost every aspect of one’s life we deal with technology. It is how we deal with that technology decides whether it is useful or not. In this essay, I will address the ways technology has affected my life and the lives of my friends and family through my own observations, experience and actions. Thinking of both convenience and technology in terms of comfort, it can work for us or against us. Technology has taken us away from the discomfort of everyday life that is now a thing of the past. Presently, people no longer know how to be self sufficient; technology has made us incompetent and unable to function without it. The convenience of technology brought us the remote control, so we now no longer get off the couch. Striving for comfort has removed us from the dinner table and into a fast food drive-thru. This quick and easy route has taken us away from quality time spent with the family. Technology has made us lazy, overweight, and unprepared. We have let technology take over our lives with and create a demand that if taken away would topple our society, so much so that people involve every aspect of their life, from their business and their children, with the technology. Now more than ever inventions are being made to make life easier, and make people more comfortable in the modern world. Technology has changed...

...Kien Nguyen Essay #2 07/31/2013 ENGL 100F/ 18:30-21:50/ M-T Chris Andrews An Emoticons Era Nowadays, with the non-stop developments of socioeconomics, it is an undeniable truth that technologies and social networks are playing a vital role in our daily life. We have come to the new era of communication when people can contact each other everywhere, at every moment. Thus, technologies are now the dominant factor in our communication today, since we have such an exceptional access to information and people. Truly, geographic limitation is now destroyed in terms of communication. However, we are becoming more ignorant about how these technologies are affecting our life every day. We are abusing these communicating methods without acknowledging that our life and our own personalities are being spoiled. As a consequence, these technologies are bringing the lacks of social interaction, distraction, and the decayed expression of languages and emotions. The rise of technologies is leading to the collapse of our communication. Technologies are ruining social interaction among humans. Without a doubt, technologies have dominated our choices of interacting with each other. While the purpose of technologies was to improve the communication between humans, people now prefer using these tools to talk, rather than face-to-face conversations. In fact, human civilization has been always developed based on the connection between people, but now, we are losing that real connection in order...

Literacy

...Jennifer L. Theresa Scott ENC 1101: Comp 1 June 8th, 2016 The Machines of Tomorrow Technology is everywhere. You go out in public and all you see is everyone concentrating on their phones. Technology allows people to communicate with one another and share information. Even if someone doesn’t own a computer or a phone, there is some type of mobile device, computer, or even television that you can get too to get the latest news. I was born in 1999, where technology wasn’t as big as it is now, but it was surely up and coming. I remember being a little girl and I was always on my Gameboy playing games. Sure couldn’t get me off of that thing! Technology is evolving and soon everything is going to be based on it. As it’s slowly doing so now. A world without technology, would be a difficult world. Technology is a big part of my life, as it is of most people these days. Even as a little girl, I would play on my Gameboy, or listen to my Disney music on my mp3, but little did I know that it’ll later affect my way of life. There isn’t a day in my life where I don’t use some type of technological innovation. Even typing this essay I’m in need of using technology. My mobile device is a technological innovation that if I didn’t have it, my life would be in the dumps. My phone allows me to surf the web, connect with others, get the latest gossip and news etc. Most people see having a phone in such a negative way. Mainly because it “disconnects” people from the real world, but in my opinion...

Technology

...Technology has made life easier for people and it is now becoming something that people rely on too much. In today’s world technology is seen everywhere you go, you can see it in a workplace, schools, public places and in our homes. Technology is a great thing as long as people remember to use it as a tool and not a way of life. Because people rely on technology, it has caused problem like loss of work, vehicle accidents, and lack of proper communication. People should know how to live without fully relying on technology and sadly, not many do know how to live without it. People will argue that technology is the future and that people need to know how to use it to live. Workplaces will argue that technology has improved productivity and reduced costs. Schools will argue that technology has made learning easier for most students and it is something they need to learn to be ready for life outside of school. Most people will just simply argue that they cannot live without technology. These are all good points and yes because of technology, we have been able to get more work done in less time. Sure technology can do the work faster and with fewer mistakes as a person and learning how to use technology is something that everyone needs to know. However, we have relied too much on technology and the question should not be can you live without technology, the question should be, do you know how to live without technology. Today’s jobs mostly run on technology and less by humans....

Technology and Life

...Technology is all around us. We have become dependent on it. Could you imagine a day without your cell phone or computer? These devises have become, “attached to our hips” so to speak. I have heard plenty of people say, “I could not live without my cell phone” or “I would be lost without my computer.” Right now this is not something that people do not take very seriously, it is just an expression they us to express how important these devices have become to them. We all have become dependent on technology; most everything today requires technology to function making it hard to live a normal life without it today. Technology has become both a blessing and a curse, the problem is finding out if it is more of a blessing then a curse. Have you ever asked the question “can I live without technology?” To answer that question fully we would have to see how technology affects the mind and body. You would think that technology would have no effect on a person, when really it affects us more than you might realize. It depends on how you use the technology. Technology can help shape what defines you mentally and physically, if you let it. Put simply if you get use to technology making life easier then you are prone to become less active. Simple example, before computers if you wanted to know what was going on in the news, and the news was not on TV at that time then you would have to go to a newspaper stand and get a newspaper. This simple act required you to get up walk to your car drive...

Effects of Technology

...Exploratory essay November 12, 2015 Is technology a danger or a solution to our society and our health The development of technology is usually considered good based on the fact that its main purpose is to make people’s lives easier. Nowadays, instead of people using the technology to help them organize their lives, it seems that it’s going the other way around. People became too dependent on technology and are, in a way, ruled by it. Most of the information we receive is through mobile devices or television. Too much time is spent looking at the phone or TV screen, making it dangerous to persons both physical and mental health. On the other hand, technology has helped a lot in many fields such as: medicine, communication, education, and transport, making the life we know today much safer, faster, and easier. The views on technology development are greatly divided. Some of the most popular views are: by people who consider that life without technology would be pointless, unorganized, and chaotic; by people who find using too much technology to be hazardous and believe that it’s making people unhealthier, dumber, and lazier; and by people who think that technology should became better, but only used to assist people and should not become a big part of everyday life. There are many reasons why technology is good and should be used daily. Some people can’t even imagine their day without the use of modern day technology. Computers, mobile phones, tablets, and other devices...

...How technology has made life more difficult? Technology everyone loves it everyone uses it but at what cost? In my opinion we have sacrificed a lot just to use technology. Technology has made life easier to an extent but at same time it has made some people too dependent on it. Life is only going to get more difficult with technology advancing the way it is. How technology makes life more difficult? With all of our advancement in technology things are getting more simplified to the point of difficulty. For example eBooks they are more difficult to use n read while doing your school work, but at the same time it’s cheaper and more available for students. Another good example of how technology has made things difficult is with the gps systems. The new advancements in gps makes some people think without it they couldn’t go anywhere without getting lost. How much is too much for technology? I got a lot of information from news articles. There are only few you will need to know are gps, and eBook. Gps is a graphical position system used to add a destination and find routes to it or just to know where you currently are. EBooks are the new way most students are having to get the books called an electronic book. There are no other key definitions needed for this paper. I have tried to find someone articles with good rebuttals. But most people seem to agree with my position on this paper that technology does in fact make life more difficult some times. We just keep finding ways to...

Dependency on Technology

...ARE WE TOO DEPENDENT ON TECHNOLOGY? Introduction Today, when were driving our cars, following a GPS, and talking on the phone we can wondered if we are too dependent on technology. It feels that recently, more and more people have become less connected with the real world and more connected with 'cyberspace'. Today, less people sit down to lunch and have a conversation without an interruption from a Smartphone buzzing on the table. Hardly anyone can go a day without posting a status on Facebook or sending out tweets or even constantly messaging their friends. While this all is very convenient and enjoyable, it makes us wonder…What would it be like if we all put down our phones and computers for a week and really lived life, a life outside of the confines of a cyber world. Maybe if we did this, we would be able to hold a conversation face to face without the risk of feeling uncomfortable. We wouldn’t have to wait for the delay of technology to keep us feeling secure in replies. Maybe, we wouldn’t all hide behind the mask of “a profile”. Maybe more people would be genuine and more honorable. We are all fans of technology and how much easier it makes life, however, we do feel that if individuals were less dependent on it, we would live a much more ‘real’ world. Our purpose it to expose the true colors of technology, in order to answer the question; are we too dependent of technology? Motivation The motivation factor which made us decide on the topic of this thesis is...

Everyone is in constant interaction with technology in some way or the other. The most significant impact of the rapid technological development can be seen in the evolution of electronic devices like computers, mobile phones, and other gadgets. The number of people using those devices is increasing by the minute and we witness a growing dependency towards the use of such gadgets. ...Technology has been the biggest deal in the 21st century. Each day it improves more and more. Today, almost everything we do is affected by technology. It gives us a lot of advantages which is why we humans depend on it. However, do we depend on it too much? Technology seems to have become more of a convenience than a tool. Besides the many benefits of technology there are also a lot of arguments against it. One argument is that it has a negative effect on children. Kids are the future and if anyone should be learning the most it’s them. How could they possibly learn the most if all these technology makes everything easy for them? It’s giving them an excuse to be lazy. Calculators were created to solve hard math problems and not the simple ones. Now a day, kids can’t even do simple math problems in their head. Then there is spell check on computers. Most teachers want everything typed now, therefore students can’t really learn if spell check gives them the answer. Kids won’t be able to develop with a lot of knowledge if they always depend on technology to do the thinking for them. The United States has become lazier and lazier as we find easier ways to solve our everyday problems. Studies have shown that television and video games are main reasons for obesity. Teenagers can’t seem to go anywhere without their cell phones in their hands either. No one really goes outside anymore because of the entertainment inside. It’s good that we have these advantages but we can’t take advantage...
