...Zachary Stanford Soc 100 Sociological Autobiography Paper I was born on May 16th 1989. There was a lot of change and progression taking place in America around the time of my birth. I was born and raised in a small town in eastern Tennessee. Growing up in a larger than average family consisting of 3 brothers and 1 sister times at home could get very hectic! I lived a very middle class lifestyle as a result of both my parents working 40 plus hours weekly. This was something that was quite unusual coming from a small southern town. I grew up in a place where woman working a full time position to support their family was unheard of. In the south during this time, it was assumed that the male of the household would be the bread winner or provider in each household. The women would play a very important role in maintaining a stable home life. To promote a stable living during this time, a positive economy was a must. The year that I was born just so happened to be an election year and the country was in the heart of a changing time especially due to a new decade approaching and American’s wanting change. George H. W. Bush was inaugurated on January 20, 1989, succeeding Ronald Reagan. He entered office at a period of change in the world; the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of Soviet Union came early in his presidency. He ordered military operations in Panama and the Persian Gulf, at one point, Bush was recorded as having a record-high approval rating of 89 percent...

Trump Marketing

...1. Executive Summary 1.1 Brief Summary While the Trump organization continues the expansion of its entertainment/luxury conglomerate through the recent acquisition of half ownership over the sports entertainment giant The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and its recent entry into the higher-tier water business with its new brand, Trump Ice, it’s Casinos in Atlantic City (AC) do not seem to be doing so well. With increased competition, mounting regulations, and a relatively depressed economy the overall revenue of the Trump Organization’s AC hotels are diminishing, with administration expecting lower market shares in the coming years (“Trump buys raw”, 2009) (“The Trump Brand, 2012) (“Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc”, 2010) (Bary, A., 2011). The organization’s failure to systematically allocate resources for periodic improvements/updates to these facilities have cost it the inability to attract or retain customers. In fact, just recently the organization relinquished one of its AC properties, The Trump Plaza to its competitor, The Golden Nugget (Wittowski, 2011). This is allocation of resources is critical in an industry where customer retention is correlated to the amount of expenditure and improvements made to the facilities. This slump in the organization competitive performance has been the case for quite some time. The Trump Organization has repeatedly fell at the brink of filing for bankruptcy – due to high leverage, low liquidity, and poor operating performance...

...inventories rising, but they were rising at a faster rate than sales. These data raised some warnings about future economic growth, because rising inventory levels relative to sales indicate that consumers are trimming spending faster than companies can slow production.1 These data also raised warning flags for investors in individual companies. As one analyst remarked, “When inventory grows faster than sales, profits drop.” That is, when companies face slowing sales and growing inventory, then markdowns in prices are usually not far behind. These markdowns, in turn, lead to lower sales revenue and income, as profit margins on sales are squeezed.2 Research supporting these observations has found that increases in retailers’ inventory translate into lower prices and lower net income.3 Interestingly, the same research found that for manufacturers, only increases in...

...FINDER I love the idea of using the Greek word for Finder as the main character’s name… maybe that could even work into the title? The headlines are talking. They say that there are only an estimated 6000 Followers left worldwide and about 10 percent of them may be found in North America. China claims to have wiped them out altogether, while India believes that they can be rehabilitated. Those headlines were from two days ago blaring through my Blue Tooth and YAHWEH alone knows how many of us are left. But after 80 - 100 years of persecution, since the Government’s war on the Followers, we’ve learned how to hide in plain sight. It takes a lot more money living in The Cities than in the communes where I was raised. But after they found our camp, about forty people strong, maybe 34 of us all told were BORNAGAINSAVED. The others were people we’d find on the road hungry, alone, broken; designated appointments from YAHWEH – well after they found our camp . . . well, I’ve been living in cities since then. They called us something else then, but the name has been lost. Now they just call us walking dead or religious trash. Either way it’s all the same. If they catch us, then it’s the Big Show: no ifs, ands, or but’s. Even on the news feeds, we’re “they,” or “suspects,” or “fanatics” and never our names. We’re the nameless ones. That’s how we can tell true Followers from the government plants they keep sending us. You can tell by the scars we carry. Many of us grow our hairs...

...Michael Jackson English Michael Joseph Jackson[1][2] (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American singer-songwriter, dancer, businessman and philanthropist. Often referred to by the honorific nickname "King of Pop", or by his initials MJ,[3] Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. The eighth child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1964, and began his solo career in 1971. In the early 1980s, Jackson became the dominant figure in popular music. The music videos for his songs, including those of "Beat It," "Billie Jean," and "Thriller," were credited with breaking down racial barriers and transforming the medium into an art form and promotional tool. The popularity of these videos helped to bring the then relatively new television channel MTV to fame. With videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" he continued to innovate the medium throughout the 1990s, as well as forging a reputation as a touring solo artist. Through stage and video performances, Jackson popularized a number of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot, and the moonwalk, to which he gave the name. His distinctive sound and style has influenced numerous hip hop, post-disco, contemporary R&B, pop,...
