Nemo is about a young clown fish named Nemo who has an over-protective father, and how they are separated early on in the movie. ...It is true that people should believe above all whatever they see but, if they just sit to ponder over all the things that they believe in and accept as truth and have never seen, the list would be never ending. Fiction and non fiction both play an important role in a reader's life, but the line between the two can sometimes be blurred. Defining the genre of book can greatly effect the reader's experience and interpretation of that book, especially when it comes to Yann Martel's Life of Pi. The novel is presented in interview style which may suggest it is a true story, but there is solid evidence behind the fact that it is a work of fiction. For example, the main character manages to stay alive for 227 days with little to no food supply, when in reality no human could go that long. Also, he is accompanied by a dangerous Bengal tiger who would have most likely ate him alive the first chance he got. On top of that, there are places mentioned in the book such as a man eating floating island made out of algae that are completely non existent. Despite any disagreeing evidence, Life of Pi is purely a fiction novel. Not only is this book fiction, it is also highly unrealistic. Pi Patel, the main character, is able to survive 227 with very sparse food and water. At one point in the book, a wave takes away the majority of his food that he was saving and he leaves him with little to nothing. ...Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" is a miraculous achievement of storytelling and a landmark of visual mastery. Inspired by a worldwide best seller that many readers must have assumed was unfilmable, it is a triumph over its difficulties. The story involves the 227 days that its teenage hero spends drifting across the Pacific in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. They find themselves in the same boat after an amusing and colorful prologue, which in itself could have been enlarged into an exciting family film. Then it expands into a parable of survival, acceptance and adaptation. The story begins in a small family zoo in Pondicherry, India, where the boy christened Piscine is raised. Piscine translates from French to English as "swimming pool," but in an India where many more speak English than French, his playmates of course nickname him "pee." Determined to put an end to this, he adopts the name "Pi," demonstrating an uncanny ability to write down that mathematical constant that begins with 3.14 and never ends. The zoo goes broke, and Pi's father puts his family and a few valuable animals on a ship bound for Canada. In a bruising series of falls, a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and the lion tumble into the boat with the boy, and are swept away by high seas. His family is never seen again, and the last we see of the ship is its lights disappearing into the deep — a haunting shot.
