...of my freshman has been a very interesting trip. I have learned so much in the short amount of time that I have spent here at Kennesaw State University. I feel as if I have grown, not only as a student, but as a person as well. I have met many new people, made many new friends, and learned many new things especially in my English 1101 class. I thought I knew everything there was to know about writing when I came in on my first day, but I was very wrong. My professor assured me that there is much more to writing than just putting words down on paper. Knowing all of this, I have now learned how to improve on my writing skills, how to write better grammatically correct sentences, incorporate quotes and research and give as well as get criticism. When I came into this semester as a freshman I was very confident in the quality of my writing. However, my self-esteem was soon crushed shortly thereafter. [3] Having made version 1.0 of your SOP, *now* take a look at as many SOPs as you can of guys in your area. Borrow points from then which you think are good. [4] Your SOP does not have to be too big. We at IITB tend to write long SOPs (1.5 to 2 pages) whereas IITM guys (who get better schools!)Usually write 0.75 page (max. 1 page). Back when I was in school we didn’t have things like high tech calculators and computers and Interactive Smart Boards. We did all our work by hand using pencils, pens and paper. When I was in elementary school the basic core skills of reading, writing, and math were taught by hand, we had to do all our reading in books, we didn’t have the Smart Boards like they do today where teachers can load a book on the screen and each student can read together or individually to the other students. Anything that had to do with writing was done by hand on paper unlike today where students can use computers to write their essays. Math was all done by hand on paper long division was a process that was broken down step by step, not using calculators or computers to find the answers. We did our multiplication tables by hand until we had them memorized. Things were simpler back to a point and to a point they are easier now, everything that we had to research for essays in high school was done at the library. We had to learn to use the Dewey Decimal System to find the books we needed.
