I had previously taken the assessments on MyPlan during my first semester at Valencia College, however I decided to retake the tests to see if my interest have changed overtime. The first time I took the assessment my primary interest areas were investigative and enterprising, and after retaking it my primary interest areas are investigative and conventional. However, after taking a deeper look at the results I saw that my conventional score (13) and my enterprising score were the same on my second assessment. After reading the descriptions of what an investigative, enterprising, and conventional person was like I had to agree that the description fit me. There was a section on each interest area that had a list of words people would use to describe me such as “curious, trustworthy, and introspective”, and I was …show more content…
I have never been one for art and the only career that I thought of pursing that dealt with some form of artistic talent was being an art buyer. My values assessment let me know what I most value in the work place is support, good working conditions, and independence. My previous values assessment had achievements as one of my higher values, but now it shows achievement and recognition is one of the things I least value in a career. But after being in the work field for a while I understand why my values have changed. I now value having more control over myself (independence) over being praised and receiving awards. After taking the personality assessment I was categorized as an ISTJ, which is not surprising because I had taken an assessment online weeks before and received the same results. Although I am not surprised I must disagree with the personality assessment. When previously taking personality tests online I always came out as a INTJ, and when reading what the differences between and INTJ and ISTJ, I still feel the INTJ personality fits me

One’s behavior good or bad is influenced by personality and their value system (Robbins and Judge, 2009).
