In my opinion the vast majority of the other critiques read as though the author was simply trying to find examples for that particular type of critique where there was probably very little intentioned meaning behind it. Some of the meaning behind the game that was analyzed seemed as though it was forced. The biographical critique, however, analyzes the author’s intent behind the game using quotes from the author himself. This lends more authority to the critique and prevented it from feeling as though meaningless aspects of the game were being critiqued. ...Critique for Macbeth play Attending the performance of Macbeth at the Toronto Centre of the Arts was a great experience that helped my interpretation and understanding of the play. Some of the things that I thought were positive about the performance were the modernizing of the play using modern warfare and the killing of Duncan on stage. Using modern warfare instead of having the play based 400 years ago was a great idea by the director because it made the play more entertaining and it allowed the audience to easily understand what was going on in the play. Additionally I thought that the killing of Duncan on stage was also a great idea. As one of the most important scenes in the play, it showed the audience that Macbeth went through with the murder. This allowed the performance to flow more smoothly in making it very clear to the audience what was happening. Despite these positives, I found that the performance had a lot of negatives that I would have changed. Firstly, I did not like how the performers on stage were not hooked up to microphones. By doing this, I found that it was very hard to hear them speak because the performers could not project their voices loud enough to clearly understand what they were saying. Secondly, I felt that the “unsex me” speech by Lady Macbeth was not executed as well as it should have been. Walking into the class I noticed the class was set up different from previous classes so I knew this class would be even more important. The desks were turned around towards a stage that the class had never seen before but on the stage was a piano. A handout was given which was The Original Piano Compositions of Irit Smith who is a composer. Before the performance was started the class was actually introduced to her and she explained to us what we would we hearing during the performance. More than one chose of music was played and I can say I enjoyed listening to them all. These compositions were The Jerusalem Suite, Impressions of Israel, and Krakow Variations on a Polish Air in C major. The way the piano was played you could tell that you are very experienced and have done them before. Usually when many people have to play something in front of new people for the first time they are nervous but you were very comfortable on the stage and did an incredible performance. Fall for Dance is a collection of works choreographed by David Parsons, Robert Battle, Andy Noble, and Charles O. Anderson. The first of the collection, (Re)Singing from the Underspace, is motivated by feminist critiques of womanhood in the western society and contradicts the western society by demonstrating non-western imagery. The performers were dressed in blue, white, and black dresses as they danced contemporary or lyrical style to modern music. Although all of the dresses were the same general style, they each had a unique difference to emphasize individualism within women. The play used front lighting to illuminate every woman, implying that society shouldn't leave anybody out. A fourth wall existed between the cast and the audience. The cast seemed to dance without caring about the audience's existence. Throughout this first performance, there was one main performer. Sometimes she would express her own movements, while other times, she would join the other performers. The music had lyrics stating the conditions of the women. At one point, the music seemed dark and listed words such as, "Servant, bitch, Jezebel, whore..."
