Individual Self-Development Plan
Based on the Results of the Emotional and Social Competence Inventory-University Edition Self-Assessment Questionnaire

This paper should be considered a Individual Self- Development plan based on personal results from the “Emotional and Social Competence Inventory-University Edition Self-Assessment Questionnaire.” Having completed the inventory very carefully, giving honest and thoughtful answers I believe that I have and will continue to greatly benefit from this exercise. This assignment has given me reason to look thoroughly at many of my personal challenges that if not improved upon could affect the level of my future successes personally, academically, and professionally. • Working with, understanding, and influencing others • Stress management and self control After completing the questionnaire and reviewing the workbook, I noted that in all except three of my competencies I scored higher than twenty. It is interesting that according to the self assessment profile it could be concluded that I overcompensate in some areas to offset the challenges I have in other competency areas. On the other hand these competencies may not be applicable for the role that I currently hold as an independent Branch Manager. I have considered that with regard to Relationship Management: Inspirational Leadership I scored 24. Yet Influence and Teamwork were two of my lowest scores. I know that it good leaders are able to balance these competencies so to be considered effective however it may not always be necessary to demonstrate each all at the same time.

Self Management
Emotional Self Control, score 17
The score for this competency was less that twenty so I consider this an area for improvement. I recognize the need to better manage impulsive

Information obtained from this research will be significant in shaping the success of new online research products and services. Most online research consumers spring from the professional division; as a result, prices of quality online research tend to be a bit on the high side. This attracts the attention of companies to consumers in the personal or normal consumer segment. It is anticipated that online research should target both segments (professional and personal) with the price factor in mind and this research will determine whether this is a veritable fact or not (Chisnall 186). 1.0. Research objectives The following research objectives have been identified: 1.1. To identify the right tools, methods and opportunities of marketing research online 1.2. To explore the internal and external characteristics...

It is a very important issue for organizations today, given the large amounts of investment in these programmes and the small amounts of that investment that actually translates into an improved individual and organizational performance. This paper describes the testing of the Holton model of learning transfer and suggests amendments to the model where appropriate. A sample of participants on a management development programme within the Irish health service completed the Learning Transfer System Inventory based on the Holton model. The data obtained were analysed using multiple regression and partial correlation techniques. Results indicate that the model does adequately represent the effects of its factors, although a slightly revised model is presented. Important relationships between factors are identified, and the central role of the learners’ personal capacity for transfer (hitherto unreported in the literature) and their motivation to...

These things are directly and positively related to some other things too, hence when these (the above-mentioned) things are adversely affected; they also impact good communication, quality of individual performance, technical success and eventually commercial success. Another interesting finding of which the managers need to be well aware of is that politics can emerge due to the increase in the commercial success and hence more commercial success leads to more politics, which (politics) in turn through different routes reduces the commercial success and therefore the decrease in the commercial success causes lower...

Performance Appraisal

...In my opinion, Jennifer is more than right regarding the need for formal assessment of employees. Mel’s approach based on simple evaluation of timely fulfillment of working duties by the employees might reduce motivation and lead to high turnover because of little progress for certain employees (Bohlander & Snell, 2009). Use of formal criteria of performance evaluation and provision of well-grounded feedback on the results of performance review is going to lead to many significant improvements regarding employee compensation, recruitment, improvement of performance of the whole company, etc. Formal evaluation of workers will also reduce potential subjectivity bias regarding employee performance. In case of performance assessment involving elements of 360 degree feedback or similar approaches (Linman, 2004), balanced opinion of the team will be used for performance estimates rather than personal views of a certain manager. 2. After reading through the course materials, and learning more about the various applications of performance feedback, what response can she give Mel to explain the value and application of that feedback? This should be a well developed response for Mel incorporating concepts you are learning related to appraising performance. Formal evaluation of performance and corresponding managerial feedback are expected to lead to enhanced engagement of employees into the working process, better explanations of managerial decisions and better shaped expectations...
