Personality vs. Learning Style
Personalities tell a story about a person. Although there are things in common, people are very complex and different. Do personality and learning go hand in hand?
According to Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) my personality type is Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging (ESFJ). Some of the characteristics of this type of personality are as follows: detail oriented, people person, concerned with values, caring, and warm (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, n.d.). My RHETI Enneagram type is Type 7. The Enthusiast: Type 7 has many similar characteristics, they are multitalented, diverse, curious, juggle many different activities, and good problem solvers (Becca, n.d.).
I would have to say that the MBTI and the RHETI are pretty accurate with how I view myself. According to the findings, the medical field is the perfect profession for me. I am very much a people person and thoroughly enjoy the social aspect of my job. There is nothing that I enjoy more than being a “bedside” nurse. I feel that is the place that I am most effective because I love caring for people and making sure that their needs are met. I am detail oriented and always look out for the best interest of the patients. I am concerned with their well-being and see them as individual people not just patients. I want them to feel that they can come to me with any issues or problems and that I will do my best to help them. I am not afraid to work hand in hand with the nurse aides or other nurses to get things accomplished. All of these things, I see as my strengths.
Some of the weakness of my personality type can sometimes hinder my success. I do not feel that I fit into all of the characteristics but some that I do portray. I very much care what people think of me. I also want people to see me in a positive way. I want

Cognitive Learning

...COGNITIVE LEARNING What is cognitive learning? Not all cases of learning can easily be captured by classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Learning would be extremely inefficient if we had to rely completely on conditioning for all our learning. Human beings can learn efficiently by observation, taking instruction, and imitating the behavior of others. Cognitive learning is a powerful mechanism that provides the means of knowledge, and goes well beyond simple imitation of others. Conditioning can never explain what you are learning from reading our web-site. This learning illustrates the importance of cognitive learning. Cognitive learning is defined as the acquisition of knowledge and skill by mental or cognitive processes — ;the procedures we have for manipulating information 'in our heads'. Cognitive processes include creating mental representations of physical objects and events, and other forms of information processing. How do we learn cognitive? In cognitive learning, the individual learns by listening, watching, touching, reading, or experiencing and then processing and remembering the information. Cognitive learning might seem to be passive learning, because there is no motor movement. However, the learner is quite active, in a cognitive way, in processing and remembering newly incoming information. Cognitive learning enables us to create and transmit a complex culture that includes symbols, values, beliefs and norms. Because cognitive activity is...

...Personality Assessment University of Phoenix CMGT/530 Personality Assessment Personality is defined as the visible aspect of one’s characters based on a combination of their physical, mental, emotional, social, and other behavioral patterns. Over the last few decades there have been numerous methods and tests that have been developed to assess ones personality. The more commonly known tests include the Meyer-Briggs Type Indicator (MBIT), the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire, the Jung Theory of Psychological Types and The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II. The listed methods are all developed by different individuals; with their very own views and opinions; however; each method is based on the basic theory that a person’s behavior are the results of specific traits that can be measured and it is these measureable traits are what make up a person’s inner habits and tendencies. ...Homogenous vs. Heterogeneous team Homogenous team is one in which the group members have a similar shared value and attributes. On the other hand heterogeneous team is one in which the group members have a diverse orientation. There are advantages and disadvantages of both teams that I will outline in the next section. Advantages Heterogeneous - Diverse thinking - perform better on complex tasks - more creativity Homogenous - Less conflict -better coordination - advantage of cohesion - high satisfaction - better performance on cooperative tasks Heterogeneous - Agreements are difficult - more conflict - coordination is problematic Disadvantages Homogenous - Groupthink - decisions that do not respond to changes and contingencies - no innovative ideas The cohesion among homogenous group may translate into high productivity and goal accomplishment. Personality

...Life Span Development and Personality Paper Freud and unconscious conflict, Pavlov and learning, Darwin and natural selection; all of these great men of science developed theories to explain the world around us and within us. They did not however develop these theories outside the context of their surroundings, their upbringing, or their own personality. President elect Barack Obama will soon become the first African-American President of the United States of America. Current world events dictate that his presidency will be the stuff of great novels when it is complete. However, Barack Obama should not be considered outside the context of his own psychological and developmental growth, his own personality, and his own path towards self-actualization. Which makes more music, a violin or the violinist? The answer is neither because without one or the other the music could not exist at all. The same concept can be applied to the nature vs. nurture controversy. Is our personality more a product of our genetically inherited traits or our environmentally learned characteristics? The answer is neither because without one the other could not exist. The question is not about how much, but simply how genetics and our environment interact to create the unique individuals that we see around us. Robinson (2004) explains it this way, "Behavior is orchestrated by an interplay between inherited and environmental influences acting on the same substrate, the genome" (p. 397). Robinson...
