A baby boy, named Gaston Leroux was born May 6, 1868 in Paris, France. Leroux certainly had a better education than most kids born in 1868, because of his father: Dominique Alfred Leroux wealth. Growing up Leroux always had a passion for writing, but after high school; Leroux attended Caen to study law. In 1888, Leroux mother and father passed away, making him the head of the house hold, also Leroux inherited nearly a million francs. A year later Leroux obtained his law degree, but something ignited his passion for writing again. Gaston Leroux made a great impact in the literary world by never giving up on his passion for writing; and having his classic novel The Phantom of the Opera made into many successful films.

What the quotation is saying, is that when a novel is good, and a movie is made from it, the readers would set the expectations high for the movie after reading the novel. That maybe the reason bad novels make good movies and good novels make bad movies. The second statement made from Mr.Kelly is “The core issue for the book, The Phantom of the Opera seems to be that its strengths all tend to lend themselves to the visual arts, while its weakness all fall in areas where great writing usually shine" (The Phantom of the Opera 135). The quotation is meaning while The Phantom of the Opera paints a good visual in your mind on what's happening but its weaknesses fall areas all good novels are great in. The third and last statement is “The book is full of vivid but structurally unnecessary moments, like an example from the appearance of the rat-catcher underground that gives the audience a visual idea, but unnecessary" (The Phantom of the Opera 135). These images exist everywhere: in art, in nature, in thoughts, and in speech in particular. Each of us at least ones created an image. We use different means (stylistic expressive means and devices) to achieve the aim. In our research we would like to concentrate our attention on “epithet”, a figure of speech which gives the opportunity to create the most expressive and vivid images.
