We have started relying on these smart devices and as a result, a lot many of us have become exceptionally bad at planning. This has made us incapable to prioritize and set vague parameters for meetings and work out other finer details pertaining to our lives. This has resulted into our last-minute mania and accordingly it has started to shape a way in which we make hotel reservations for our dream holidays. Henceforth, the proliferation of Smart phones and the Mobile Internet is finally beginning to have an impact on the way that people research and book their holidays. Though there are several Apps in the market which has enabled people to book flights and hotels on these several smart devices, but there has been scepticism about people that they actually book their next holiday on a mobile phone or other devices, where the size of screen is being seen as the main hurdle for such a high priced purchase. ...areas below. The issues discovered and discussed are strategic planning, organization, finance, project management, a project team, and project resource allocation and are presented in the information below with recommended resolutions. Week 1 Issues Issue #1 The first issue identified by Strategy One is in the area of strategic planning. CanGo has been a successful company to date by being a trail blazer and leader in the online retail resource vertical. In order for CanGo to continue its success, remain a leader and expand its offerings, strategic planning must be implemented in the management of the company. “The strategic management process is made up of four elements: situation analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation. These elements are steps that are performed, in order, when developing a new strategic management plan. Existing businesses that have already developed a strategic management plan will revisit these steps as the need arises, in order to make necessary changes and improvements.” (Bushman, 2007) There is an admitted lack of planning in the current organization. By documenting the trending in what has been successful; CanGo will be able to remain an industry leader as long as this planning is a priority in deciding the future vision of CanGo. Issue #2 The second issue identified by Strategy One is in the area of organizational planning and goals. CanGo’s management and employees have already expressed...

...brand. But take a hint from retailers. It works. And everybody wants a little something special during the new year – your buyers included. Show your new year spirit by giving them a special promotion to support the post-holidays exchange rush. Send out an email blast offering a discount on desirable, or replenishment products – but set some parameters. Require a minimum on orders, and give them a deadline – and be strict about it. People will love your spirit, and respect you more for enforcing the rules. NuORDER Pro Tip: Create a linesheet of great items & email it to your accounts using NuORDER. Offer a promotion to buyers who place orders by a pre-defined deadline! 02. Drive Your Retailers Sales with Social Media When your product flies off the shelf, the orders come rushing in, right? While retailer shoppers are off work, they’re checking social media more frequently. Spend some time promoting your brand and driving awareness. Consider collaborating with your retailers to drive their sales directly – especially in smaller cities without big box retailers. Kicking your social media marketing into action around the new year can boost sales at retail, and result in more orders during the new year. 03. Build a list of new targets During the new year, retailers are busy selling to consumers and have no time to chat with you. Use the free time to plan your attack on a new region or a different segment of the market. Research new accounts, build a list of new targets, and get...

...Most adults today harken back to their youth to pull out their favorite images of the holiday season. We remember the tree, with its sparkling lights, laden with ornaments from Christmas past and present, with brightly colored packages crammed around its base, with smells of hot chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla wafting through the air. But as we morph into adulthood, our images of the holiday season tend to sour somewhat. Replacing thoughts of the tree, fuzzy slippers, presents and a roaring fireplace, are thoughts of crowded malls, insane traffic, frazzled, angry shoppers and a holiday budget that seems to shrink while prices tend to skyrocket. It makes us want to scream “enough already.” Oftentimes the reality of getting through the holidays can be a mix of holding on to holiday traditions, while looking for new traditions that work in today’s environment. Get family, extended family and friends involved in planning holiday events. Get each person to go back to their childhood and pull out one or two traditions that can be freshened and updated to hold the interest of family members today and passed along to future generations. There’s no need to spend a ton of money on these traditions; look for low- or no-cost activities such as ice skating, visiting a downtown holiday display or attend an interfaith or cultural celebration. Even start a tradition of volunteering in the community. If the family is split up across the country or on the other side of the world, look to take...

...Once again we find ourselves enmeshed in the Holiday season, that very special time of year when we join with our loved ones in sharing centuries-old traditions such as trying to find a parking space at the mall. We traditionally do this in my family by driving around the parking lot until we see a shopper emerge from the mall, then we follow her, until she led them to a parking spot. We try to keep our bumper about four inches for the shopper’s calves, to let the other circling cars know that she belongs to us. Sometimes two cars will get into a fight over whom the shopper belongs to, similar to the way white sharks will fight who gets to eat a snorkeler. So we follow our shoppers. Closely, hunched over the steering wheel, whispering “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” though our teeth, until we arrive at her car, which is usually parked several times zones away from the mall. Sometimes our shopper tries to indicate that she was merely planning to drop off some packages and go back to shopping, but when she hears our engine rev in a festive fashion and see the holiday gleam in our eyes, she realizes she would never make it. And so we parked and clamber joyously out of our car through the windows, which is necessary. I do not mean to suggest that the true meaning of the holiday season is finding a parking spot. No, the true meaning of the holiday season is finding a sales clerk. The way to do this is looking around the store for one of hose unmarked doors...

...Basic Rights of an Employee There are set minimum rights that are governed by law that covers all employees no matter if it is documented in an employee hand book or not. Your place of work cannot downgrade you or trade off any less then what is already set in stone by the government. These rights were formed to protect you while at work against your employer against discrimination and minimum age requirements. These rights include paid time off, the minimum you can get paid for working a holiday overtime, or sick pay including bereavement leave. These rights also protect the employee by allowing them the right to refuse work that might harm themselves or others around. Employers have a set of items in which they must comply with which include paying at least the minimum wage to its employees. They must also provide its employees with annual leave. Employers must compensate the employees for public holidays which they work or would normally work in which the holiday falls on. The employer must supply a written agreement to the employees. Employers cannot deduct any money without prior agreement that is completed in writing. Additionally the employer must provide a safe work place and not place any discrimination against you. Employee Rights in the Workplace Every employee has basic rights in the workplace, which include “the right to privacy, fair compensation, and freedom from discrimination.”(Haunschild, 2010.) ...Your Travel A survey of attitudes and behaviours towards travel and the environment Exeter Survey Introduction Thank you for agreeing to complete this survey. It is designed to gauge your attitudes and opinions over a wide range of travel and transport issues that concern Exeter, Devon and the UK. It is funded by the Government’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and is part of a large research project into travel and transport in Devon by the University of Exeter. We would ask that one adult individual in your household completes the survey, in the main about themselves only. Once completed, a representative of our team will collect it at an agreed time. The research seeks to examine the links between people’s attitudes and their behaviour for a range of travel and lifestyles activities. You can be sure that the responses you give will not be written in vain. The final results of the research will be sent to the City and County Councils for inspection before being used by both central and local government to shape provision of better services for local residents. Prize Draw: We are offering the opportunity to win one of five prizes for participants who complete this survey.
